BALTIMORE, MD -- The Jays take the series vs. the O's winning game 3 by a score of 7-1. The Jays bats were alive today beating Orioles starter Chen around for 4 home runs in the game which was the difference. Edwin Encarnacion smashed 2 of those 4 homers as he now has 12 on the year and 33 RBI making him the leader in both those batting categories in the MLB.

Toronto starter Josh Johnson went 7.2 innings but couldnt get through 8 as he allowed a walk which led to Oliver coming in and ending his night. He was good giving up 7 hits and 1 run while walking 2 and fanning 5. He loaded the bases in the 2nd inning with 0 outs but Baltimore couldn't score anyone as Johnson settled in and got out of the jam.

Cano and Arencibia both hit solo shots to round out the home run party off of Chen, and Roberts hit a 2 run double to complete the Jays scoring. Chris Davis's RBI single in the 1st was all Baltimore could manage in terms of runs off of Johnson. Edwin Encarnacion was named player of the game with his 2 homer, 3 RBI game.

Notes:
- The Jays will now face the Yankees for a 4 game series in NY. The first game will see a lefty battle between Mark Buehrle and Ricky Romero. Romero was torched last time he faced his former club, and Robinson Cano had himself a nice series vs. his former club. We will see if history repeats itself as Cano returns to the Bronx.
- Jose Reyes will be back after missing 9 games with his injury. He will be back to his lead off spot playing SS. They Jays were starting to become dangerous without Reyes but he will be a welcome addition back to the lineup for the Yankees series.

* Just a Reminder, I will be playing every game from now on*
BTW: I had original OS box score for this game and it messed up when I edited post. I will use original OS box scores from now on and try not to edit any posts so I dont mess them up.

BRONX, NY -- If game 1 of this 4 game series was any indication of the rest of the series, we are in for a treat. The Jays and Yankees went head to head trading runs all game until C Chris Stewart hit a RBI single in the bottom of the 9th to win it 6-5 walk off style for New York.

Both starters were shaky as Buehrle only lasted 4.2 innings giving up 8 hits, 5 runs and walked 4. Romero wasn't much better going 6.1 giving up 14 hits, and 4 runs. Even closer Rivera was shaky giving up a RBI single by Cano and blowing the save as the Jays ties it up in the 9th. Rivera eventually got the win as the Yankees walked off the bottom of the 9th.

Teixiera continues to be a tough out for the Jays as he hit his 10th homer of the year and drove in 3 runs. The Yankees were up 3-0 when after a Reyes RBI single, Bautista smacked a 2-run HR to tie it. Cabrera homered in the 4th to give Toronto the lead, but that same inning saw Garnder hit a RBI single to tie it again. Teixeira homered in the 5th, and it was 5-4 until Rivera blew the save on a RBI single by Cano scored Reyes. Delabar may have been tired, but so was the entire bullpen so he was out for the bottom of the 9th where Granderson walked, advanced on a wild pitch and was scored by Stewart for the walk off, 6-5 Yankees is your final score.

Notes:
- Game 2 will see Brandon Morrow take the mound for Toronto against Phil Hughes for the Yankees.
- Reyes was huge in his return for Toronto going 3/5 with 2 runs and an RBI. He is 100% so will continue to start at SS and lead off.
- Rasmus finally gets back into the lineup with a righty on the mound as the Jays faced 3 Lefty starters in a row which meant Rajai Davis was starting. He will be in CF and batting 7th.
- Ryan Roberts will get the day off after starting 13 in a row at 3B. Bonifacio will get the start at 3B and bat 9th.

Re: OH CANADA! --- A Toronto Blue Jays Dynasty

Tough loss to the Yankees. Hopefully Morrow can mow them down in Game 2. Looks like Davis is hitting well enough he might be trying to warrant a fulltime gig.

I played my beginning of May series against Toronto today with my M's looking to get it posted tomorrow. Will be interesting to see how you do playing them all now.

I am still sticking with the every 3 games rotation, unless their is a pitching matchup with Felix on a sim game that I really want to take on. However I am also finding I really enjoy the effort in turning B. Maurer into a quality pitcher. So far it has worked.

Ya tough loss is right but it was a great game my starters aren't getting deep into games so my bullpen is kinda tired. I need a couple strong starts to rest them. Davis is playing well vs lefties but is abysmal against righties that's why I'm platooning Davis and Rasmus at CF.

Ya ill play your mariners after the Yankees and then Red Sox I think. I am playing all game now I think mainly because the sim has ruined me lol.

Good luck vs my jays ill be sure to check it out.

NEW YORK -- Once again pitching control seemed to be the key for Toronto as Morrow walked 6 batters and only lasted 5 innings after throwing 90 pitches in those 5. He allowed 8 hits and 4 runs in his first loss of the season as the Yankees won 4-3 in another close game and now will look to sweep the Jays next game.

Hughes started off rocky allowing a 2-run HR to Bautista in the 1st inning but he would calm down to go 7 innings of 3 run ball. Cano also provided a solo HR in the 3rd but the Jays couldn't string any hits together the rest of the way. Mark Teixiera continued to frustrate the Jays getting a RBI double and a solo HR to give the Yankees the 4-3 lead which turned out to be the winner.

Cristhian Martinez pitches 3 innings of 2 hit ball providing a rest for the bullpen which was needed. The Jays need their starters to eat up some innings if they want to win any against the Yankees. Mariano Rivera tore his hamstring and was placed on the 15 day DL after the game. Robertson picked up the 1 out save after the injury.

Notes:
- With the win, the Yankees are now tied with Toronto for 1st in the AL East. Michael Pineda will try and turn things around for the Jays facing his old team who will counter with David Phelps.
- Ryan Roberts is back in at 3B batting 7th after his day of rest

NEW YORK -- Toronto's bats must have awaken after losing the 1st 2 games to the Yankees in this 4 game series, as they defeated New York by a score of 15-7, thanks to 6 home runs. Robinson Cano once again was the player of the game smashing 2 home runs against his former team which he seems to love to play. Arencibia, Bautista, Encarnacion, and Roberts all smacked bombs as the Jays took advantage of the launching pad that was David Phelps and the short porch in right.

Phelps gave up 5 of the homers and 10 ER in only 3 innings and he left to a Jays 13-0 lead. Nova pitched the rest of the game and only gave up 2 runs the rest of the way. The Yankees starter to pour it on in the 9th due to 2 errors by the Jays to keep the inning alive by Roberts and Bonifacio. Bonifacio now has 3 errors and a crappy batting average and his playing time may be real short from here on out. Rogers kept his ERA at 0.00 despite allowing 5 runs, because none were earned due to the errors.

Jays starter Michael Pineda was great against his former team pitching 7 innings giving up 7 hits and 2 runs while walking 4 and fanning 6. The walks are still a bit high but he walked people with 2 outs and none on so they didnt amount to anything severe for Toronto. The Jays will look to close out the Yankees series with a split in 4 games in the finale next.

Notes:
- There will be a pitchers duel for the game 4 finale of the series as RA Dickey (1-3/6.04/1.55) takes the mound for Toronto against tough lefty CC Sabathia (1-3/5.10/1.20) for NY. Both pitchers are off to slow starts so we will see who will come out on top of this one.
- Josh Thole will catch RA and bat 8th, and JP will play DH and bat 6th in this one, giving Adams the day off.
- Rajai Davis will be in CF for Colby Rasmus batting 9th against the lefty Sabathia.
