Hutchison Tosses First Perfecto of 2015

Hutchison and catcher Russell Martin celebrate Hutchison's perfect game.

Cleveland, OH -- Drew Hutchison was perfect.

The young right hander threw the first perfect game of the 2015 season in the Toronto Blue Jays' 1-0 win over the Cleveland Indians. Hutchison struckout seven Indian hitters, including Mike Aviles to end the game in the bottom of the ninth inning.

"Hutch was crazy out there today. Even when they were able to make contact, they were just routine ground balls or flyouts," said catcher Russell Martin after the game.

Jose Reyes used his legs to score the only run of the game, scoring from second base on a Jose Bautista infield single.

"To be honest, none of this is possible without my teammates," said Hutchison after the game. "They have to be perfect in order for me to be perfect, so tonight the whole team was perfect."

Thanks! That ninth inning must of been the most exciting inning that I've played in MLB The Show.

Indians Get To Buehrle, Carrasco Shuts The Door

Mark Buehrle turned in yet another poor outing, getting knocked around by the Cleveland Indians.

Cleveland, OH -- After losing the first two games of their four game set against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Cleveland Indians finally managed to come out on the winning side after back-to-back one run losses.

Brandon Moss and Michael Bourn homered for the Indians, who got a solid start from Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco picked up his third win of the season, going seven strong innings allowing just three runs on a home run off the bat of Edwin Encarnacion. Cody Allen came out of the bullpen in the ninth inning for the Indians, and set down the Blue Jays in order after giving up a double to Encarnacion to lead off the inning.

Mark Buehrle saw his record drop to 1-2 and his earned run average bump up to 5.67 after getting knocked around for 10 hits by the Indians. Buehrle struggled in the second and sixth inning, giving up homers in both innings. The Blue Jays got their only offense from slugger Edwin Encarnacion, who sent a Carrasco pitch into the left field stands for his 12th home run of the season. The homer came with runners on first and third, giving the Blue Jays the lead at the time although Buehrle would manage to surrender it in the next few innings.

Blue Jays Rally Falls Short, Yankees Manufacture Win

Chris Young scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning on a Stephen Drew sacrifice fly.

Toronto, ON -- The Toronto Blue Jays came oh so close to taking down American League East rival New York Yankees, falling 7-5 in the first game of a three game series at the Rogers Center.

The Blue Jays came back from down 5-1 to tie the game in the seventh inning but where unable to seal the deal. Chris Young scored what would be the winning run in the top half of the eighth inning on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Stephen Drew.

Marcus Stroman allowed nine hits and five runs (four earned) with six strikeouts over six frames of work but was unable to get the support from the offence to pick up the win. Aaron Loup was charged with the loss after giving up one run in over an inning of work from the bullpen.
