Re: Back to Glory: A Chicago Bulls Dynasty
Something New To "Figure" Out Gar Foreman was sitting at his desk contemplating whether he made the right decisions in the past weeks. He leaned back in his chair and noticed in the corner of his eye "the list" that was given to him by Jerry Reinsdorf. He moved forward to grab the list and look it over once again. "Ilgauskas, Redd, Shannon Brown." High orders for some role players. He looked to the bottom of the page and saw "Ronnie Brewer and Tony Allen". That was the players he had to get rid of. Foreman struggled with the transaction involving Brewer. He was a huge part of this team and contributed to the chemistry the team had built. He crumpled up the paper and threw it into the garbage can situated right beside his desk. Almost as soon as he did that Reinsdorf entered his office with a little skip in his step. "What are you so happy about?" Foreman asked Reinsdorf. "I am just excited to see how Garcia does in his debut." Reinsdorf said in an upbeat way. He walked over to his desk and took a seat. He had no issues with making himself comfortable as he kicked his feet up on Foreman's desk. Foreman gave a disgruntled look on his face at the owner making himself comfortable. "I went against your list. The asking prices for those players were too high. The circumstances surrounding Redd were unfavorable. Next time you should look at that before you give me a 'list'." Foreman said as he pointed towards the garbage can. Too high? The Heat refused to trade Ilgauskas. Shannon Brown was requesting a few draft picks. Michael Redd had a gigantic contract that the Bulls could not afford especially given his talent. "Let's just say I wasn't that angry you didn't follow the list I gave you." He said. "Why should I look at the circumstances? Do you want me to do your job?" Reinsdorf immediately fired back at Foreman. "You already try to do that." Foreman said quickly as the tension in the room rose a little bit. Right as it seemed like an argument would start the door slammed open and Coach Tom Thibodeau came charging in the room. "What the hell do you think your trying to pull Foreman?" Thibs said furiously. "You give away Brewer!? Of all people to get rid of you give him away!" Thibs said defending his former shooting guard. It was obvious Coach Thibs was not at all happy with the trades that took place. "Looks like you two have quite a bit of talking to do." Reinsdorf said attempting to escape the situation. Before Reinsdorf left he turned back towards Foreman and said something to him quietly. "I want you to work on acquiring a center or power forward who has a nice jump shot. I would love for someone like that to come off the bench. Asik is not fun to watch, he is expendable." Reinsdorf made a quick exit leaving Thibs and Foreman in silence. "Garfield, I am giving you this for your benefit. Don't screw this up or I will raise all kinds of hell for you." Thibs said as he laid down a piece of paper on his desk. After slamming the paper down he stormed out of Foreman's office. Foreman was speechless at what just happened. He feared to look at the piece of paper laying on his desk. Asik is now "expendable" according to the owner. Foreman stopped thinking of centers who had a jump shot and reached for the paper that lay on his desk. He opened up the paper and read what was on it. "Untouchable: Rose, Hill, Deng, Boozer, Noah, Watson, Korver, Asik Expendable: Pendergraph, Bogans, Boone" The list ended with the only player not on that list being Garcia. Foreman shook his head knowing he was in a lose-lose situation. Up Next: Quick Box Scores Last edited by ..GameOver..; 12-23-2010 at 11:48 PM. |

Re: Back to Glory: A Chicago Bulls Dynasty
Coach - GM Rivalry It seemed like yesterday that Tom Thibodeau stormed into the GM's office and told him who he could not touch. Unfortunately for Gar Foreman the owner told him to get rid of Omer Asik, who just so happened to be on the "do not touch" list of coach Thibs. Right before the trade went public Foreman decided it would be best to tell coach Thibs in person. He walked down a small hall way to where coach Thibs office was. Outside of his office was an older woman, in her 50's. "Excuse me sir, how can I help you?" She said with a warm inviting smile. She was obviously the secretary. It is funny she did not know who Gar Foreman was but he never actually made his way down to this part of the building. "I'm Gar Foreman, the general manager." He said and then paused to let it sink in to the secretary how important he was. "Where can I find Mr. Thibodeau?" He asked in a polite tone. Her eyes got a little bigger not realizing he was actually important. "Oh, I'm so sorry Mr. Foreman he is down the hall watching tape right now with his assistant coaches." She said in an almost too fake voice. Foreman gave a quick nod to the lady and thanked her. He walked down the hall way to the tape room. He saw through the window that Coach Thibs and his assistants were all watching tape. Coach Thibs immediately noticed him and dismissed all of his coaches and paused the tape. Foreman entered into the room after some small talk between himself and the assistant coaches. "How is the game plan going for the Spurs?" He said hoping his recent change would not put a damper on the game plan. "So far so good. We have designed some extra plays to Hill by his request. The kid really wants to stick it to his old team." He said with a slight chuckle. Foreman laughed a little though it was definitely forced. He knew the news he would bring would not end up being good news to coach Thibs. "I came here to talk to you about your little list that you gave me." He said in a professional manner. Coach Thibs' eyes narrowed quickly and his face resembled a face of concern. "I hope you actually follow that thing. Those players are key parts to every game we play." Coach Thibs said worried what would be said next. "I don't tell you how to do your job so I expect you not to tell me how to do mine. I put together pieces that will help us win championships." Foreman said almost trying to get some kind of an understanding from Thibs before he dropped the bomb. "I'm not buying into that crap. We have a good thing going right now. We don't need any more pieces. Your job will start back up in the off season." He said refusing to understand. Foreman let out a sigh and then continued speaking. "The team is what I decide it is. Your only job is to coach the players I put in your lap. Are we clear on that?" Foreman said a little more demanding this time. "Like hell it is! I've seen coaches go up in flames because of dumb *** GM's like yourself making all the wrong moves." He said this time releasing his anger. "If you screw this up, I will go to the ends of the earth to make sure you go down!" Coach Thibs said a little unsure whether this visit was meant to be a contentious visit or a friendly one. "Don't be stupid Tom. You know just as well as I do that you are only required to coach the players I give you. Nothing more." Foreman said trying to remain calm in this situation. "Your little 'list' is stepping on my toes. I don't need you to tell me who is untouchable." He said once again trying to reason with Coach Thibs. Right as he finished the last sentence Coach Thibs noticed a little bit of a commotion going on down the hall. "We'll continue this later." Coach Thibs then stormed out of the room down the hall way to see what was happening. Right as he exited Foreman tried to stop him knowing exactly what the commotion was. Foreman knew Tom would be upset so he slipped out of the room and walked in the opposite direction as the coach trying to escape the confrontation. Right after Foreman left the room and was out of sight he could hear Coach Thibs screaming profanity and calling for him. He ignored it walking as far away as he could from Coach Thibs. |

Re: Back to Glory: A Chicago Bulls Dynasty
Spurs @ Bulls ((Quick Note: My game froze at the end of the first time I played this so this is a simulated game. Different result in the simulation but that is okay.)) Bulls Fall Short in A Close One By: John Weemus The Bulls fail to capitalize on a few opportunities that would have given them the game ultimately but instead they head into the all star break on a downer. Tim Duncan played like a man possessed. He is 34 years old and still showing signs of his youth. He needs to share the secret to his success or where he found this youth fountain. Duncan put up 23 points on 14 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Bulls struggled to keep Hill and Noah in the game. While Noah did play a considerable amount of time he found himself in foul trouble the whole game which prevented him from playing as aggressive as he usually does. Perhaps that is why Duncan dominated that match up tonight? The leading scorer for the Bull was none other than Luol Deng. He put up 32 points on an 8-17 shooting performance. He also showed his skills from behind the arc hitting 5 of 8. Carlos Boozer was another bright spot on the Bulls team going 15-11. He adds yet another double double to his increasingly large stack of those. Derrick Rose had an off night still contributing 20 points but going 9-21 in shooting. Channing Frye made his debut this game adding 6 points in 13 minutes. He went 100% from behind the arc hitting 2 three pointers. That is the kind of production they are looking from their newly acquired center. In my video game NBA 2k11 I played this game and Channing Frye put up 13 points for me. I wonder why he slacked off in this game. (That was from my freeze) The Bulls will head into the all star break in first place in their division ahead of a hot Bucks team. Let's see if they can move forward with a full head of steam.
I just checked who made it to the all star game and D. Rose got snubbed even though he was 2nd for PG's. Worst part is John Wall went when he wasn't even third for the votes he was fourth! Is this some kind of a bug? I am not going to play the all star game if I don't have an all star on my team so expect to see some quick box scores with that one. Up Next: All Star Break |
