Re: NBA Trade Deadline 2002

Wow, the Jazz bringing in Spree? And trading an unprotected pick in the loaded 2003 draft? Gracious. That's an all-in trade that I don't know I'd make, especially considering Shaq and Kobe are still roaming the conference. Utah is doing right by Stockton and Malone but the franchise may come to regret that trade.

Decent trades for Seattle, who clearly are trying to snatch a good draft pick. Like that Vince has some help in Toronto now ... the East is pretty much wide-open, so the Raptors might just do something.

Orlando makes a seriously questionable move -- unless they're planning to blow it all up and trade McGrady away, I don't see why you take Penny Hardaway and his albatross contract. That's a "I'm definitely tanking the next two seasons" deal and you don't make that deal with McGrady, in his prime, on the roster.

Yep Jazz taking a big risk, but the West isn't as strong as it looks I think. I cannot fathom why they are so low in standings. They didn't seem to have any injuries...

I decided that every trade deadline I would make 5 trades. 3 major shakeups for teams looking to make playoffs, 1 minor and 1 WTF style trade, all the more for the storylines!

Your reaction to the Hardaway trade is exactly what I was looking for!

Found a Bill Simmons article and it suggested a few of these trades, I loved the Raptors one, and at the time that wasn't bad value for Lewis at all, as he is due an extension next season.

Re: One Last Shot: Jordan's Final Chapter.

I don't believe this. I just went on to 2k this morning, I have 3 copies of save files for this game. Only 1 remains now... I saved one or two things and then looked and two save files were gone. This happened me in 2k17 and 2k16 after the season was over. I was onto 2k help for months on end and couldn't get it fixed. I'm scared to do anything right now. I have seen this become an issue with people on various forums. I've checked in the folder on my pc, and there are two save files still there, but only one showing up... Wish me luck in getting this sorted.

Wizards go 0-3 heading into All Star Break

Wizards go 0-3 heading into All Star Break, despite Jordans effort.

February 15th, 2002 | by NBA.COM

Jordan returned to the United Center in Chicago this week, but despite 26 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, the Bulls grabbed a 7 point win. No special introduction for Michael, just business as usual. The Chicago fans gave Jordan a loud cheer, but this didn't continue throughout the game. This is the first sell out for the Bulls in 2002, as their team slowly slides down to the bottom of the Eastern Conference without a trace.

The Wizards had already lost to Boston this week again, as Paul Pierce seems to be the only one Jordan can't get the better off regularly. Antoine Walker hit 30 pts and again scorched the Wizards defense from deep. Jordan's 15 points were never going to be enough. Christian Laettner brought the fight with 21 points and 12 rebounds, but only Laettner and Rip Hamilton played any way well for the Wizards who looked fatigued all night.

The third Wizards game was a trip to MSG. The Knicks who seem to be tearing it all down with the trade of Sprewell and Camby shocked the Wizards last night. Led by stalwart Allan Houston and his 24 points the Knicks pulled off a surprising win. Knick legend John Starks matched up on Jordan for a few minutes, and tried to slow him down. Starks, Donyell Marshall, Greg Ostertag and Byron Russell all made their debuts, and brought a renewed sense of fight to MSG.

I've had this happen for me from time to time -- have you made any changes to team branding recently? The issue for me was that I had a lot of teams rebranding in my save file and that was preventing the game from actually writing the save.

2K says that you can "Only have 10 save files max between MyGM, MyLeague, and MyCareer" but the number is lower than that from my experience -- right now, with a couple of rebrands in each save file, I can get a max of four.

And what's really dumb about it is that the files are saved in some sort of predetermined order -- so for example if I have a save file 1, a save file 2, and a save file 3, but I delete 3 and then save another file that save file isn't 3 -- it's 4.

Somewhere in the 2K saves there appears to be some sort of increment mechanism that doesn't account for deleted files, I think.

Backup up your saves folder and if you have cloud saves enabled on Steam you might be able to pull the other files (but I've never been able to get them to work again).

Once you have that saves folder backed up, try saving your current file into a new slot and then back out to the main menu and look to see if it actually took it -- even though the little basketball save icon goes while in the file, a lot of times it doesn't take if a max memory limit has been reached.

Admittedly, this is all guess work, but it's what I've found so far in my experience. Hopefully it can be of some help to you.

Thanks for the advice man! Have two saves now. Never really play mycareer or mygm so I'll delete those saves too I think. Serious flaws in the pc version, should not be happening. I ended up rebranding the Wizards a few weeks ago, but now any wordmarks like wizards are just missinh from the uniforms. so frustrating. But I haven't rebranded anything lately.

When i made the roster i used cheat engine to assign all the uniforms, but as soon as i saved the myleague, the 2k servers reset all of that and i was back to current unis...keep having to redo the cheat engine work but i often forget.

Knicks are still in cap hell with Houston, Ward, Anderson and Eisley anyway for next 3 years! With them doing so badly something had to give...

I figured the Jazz wouldn't give up a 2002 draft pick incase they can't turn this season around. They gave up 2003 because they figure with time they will get it together. Sprewell will only be 32, Kirilenko 21, Camby 27 and a lottery pick if they don't make it this year. Stock and Malone have 2 years left and it would be a major shock to not make the playoffs next season after just missing out this year. They also have some cap opening to sign 1 rotation player.

Well I think Penny and McGrady could work together. If Hill gets back they have serious length. Worst case they are going to get a good pick this summer, if its Jay Williams for example, Penny can mentor him.
