No huge surprise, but Donovan Tate has left for San Diego.

Hope the best for the kid. But I would have loved to have seen him in a UNC football/baseball uniform thru 2012.

Yep, I think we've all been expecting Tate to sign the whole time, but it's still a little disappointing he won't play for UNC. Good luck to him in San Diego, hopefully it works out for him.

I also saw the Heels picked up a commitment from an OL today. Doesn't seem like anyone knows too much about him, but the coach's must see something they like. Never hurts to have another lineman.

I'm really disappointed to see Gaskins out for the year. The offensive line just seems to get thinner by the day. I hope the freshmen are ready to play because they're probably going to have to.

3-star TE Sean Fitzpatrick has switched his commitment from Maryland to UNC. Looks like a solid addition to the class. Zach Brown also decommitted from the Terps, so hopefully Fitzpatrick will show the same potential (I realize Brown hasn't done anything yet).

At least they are finally getting some recruits in. They were sitting on just 3 for months.

I was editing my rosters for NCAA10 & couldn't understand why scout had him on the roster but tarheelblue didn't.

As far as I've heard Thornton elected to leave the team instead of coming back for a 5th year. He was a RS-Junior last year so he graduated and move on I think.
