As far as LSU's offense is concerned, losing Russell, Bowe and Davis will hurt. QB Matt Flynn is a 5th year senior, but Gary Crowton is installing a new system and Flynn's game experience is limited. Early Doucet will be a force at WR, but we need some young guys to step up so that he isn't constantly doubled. That being said, I think that the defense will carry us until some guys can mature into playmakers.

In regards to your comments about LSU fans hating all things USC and blaming them for 2003, that only applies to a small amount of us. Most realize that the system needs an overhaul. Alot of LSU fans have a vendetta against the media, not the Trojans, it just seems that way because USC gets alot of press coverage.

You may be right about neither team getting to the big game. I think that USC does have a tough road there when you consider the PAC 10 seems to be getting better, and their ooc schedule. And.....just when I start to believe in Miles, he does something like this, which I think just increased the amount of pressure his players will feel during the season. Some LSU fans will hate me for mentioning his name, but Saban was the exact opposite. He downplayed every game because he wanted the players to not feel extra pressure or expectation. That was a better approach in my opinion.
I like Flynn, but wish he had more actual game experience. That's what sort of scares me about LSU. Not a big Doucet fan, big time underacheiver imo. Much like Patrick Turner has been at USC. Having seen him in Chicago, BYU and Oregon, not a big Crowton fan. Curious hire for LSU. not sure why they went that direction to be honest with you.

USC gets the press coverage however, becuase they were ranked #1 in both polls for what almost 3 years in a row? That's just the way it is I guess. To be honest, I'd rather USC came in under the radar. I guess the stupid thing like LSU fans trying to put a billboard in LA downplaying USC's success just reeks of jealousy and really put me off towards LSU fans.

Nothing but respect for that program however, and I'd love to see them in the title game. Also be interested to see how it plays out.

Has nothing to do with talent. Talent doesn't always win. How many teams in the nation have as much talent and depth as USC? 2 or 3 maybe?

Don't try to act like you don't miss LSUFan's updates in this forum about the famed OnePeat campaign.

LSUFAn was the prime example around here. His absolute meltdowns at all things USC were classic. Not to mention his theory as to why LSU would have spanked USC up and down the field in 2003, based on team stats from the Oregon ST. game that year that he didn't even see.

Doucet has put up solid numbers playing behind 2 first rounders, and I think that he'll break out this year if we can find a #2 and #3. He probably should not have been rated the the #1 WR coming out of highschool considering he was an option QB and a redshirt year to let him learn the position may have been wise.
If we still had a defensive-minded head coach, I'd love the Crowton hire because I think that he'd have free reign. I'm sure that control was one of the issues that pushed Jimbo Fisher to FSU. Jimbo took heat from some fans but I respect what he did at LSU and think that the Noles will benefit from his teachings.

I sure hope you like the slip screen and rocket screens, as that will be about 95% of your offense.

I wasn't posting in this forum then, so I'm unfamiliar with that guy, but don't base you impressions of great fanbase off of him. Come to a game in Baton Rouge and you'll be shocked at how nice 95% of us are. You won't go hungry or thirsty.

SEC games are great to go to in person.
