It's simple. The more teams allowed in, the less losses hurt.

We currently have a system that doesn't even benefit or help every FBS team that goes undefeated much less someone with a loss or two.

It's not going to change the value of regular season games IMO, but what it will do is benefit a conference like the SEC that all ready gets too much benefit of the doubt and "beats up on each other."

The reason losses hurt less in the NFL than in NCAAF isn't because of the amount of teams in the postseason but because the NFL season is 25% longer than college football.

Yet, roughly 38% of the leagues teams make the playoffs.

But people are annoyed at the thought of 8 teams which is less than a percent of FBS schools making it in the playoffs.

I really think most of y'all just don't want change. The ruining of the regular season argument comes up with anything that means change tonthe regular season yet the regular season and it's impact still remains....... impactful.

NBA/NFL format isn't perfect. One of the reasons fans don't like format of NBA and NFL is when they feel teams get left out just because format. Where there are years in NFL where a 8-8 team gets in just because they won division and a team that went 10-6 doesn't make it because of tie breakers. Or in NBA where you'll have a East team barely over 500 make it, while a 46+ win West team misses out.

But don't like seeing great NCAA teams miss out just because they had one late loss. I think 8 is a good number. A team like UCF would never get a shot in playoffs under current format. Besides Notre Dame, almost would never see a Non Power 5 school in Playoffs

I've never said I support the playoff formats in the mentioned pro leagues. Bringing them up is pointless. Also, I'm guessing you mean less than 10% of the FBS teams make the playoffs? There is 130ish teams so a percent Is 1.3 teams.



Like I said before, we already had plenty of elimination games. Who do we feel has been shorted this season? UCF and who? I've already made my case as to why I laugh at UCF "deserving" a shot. They have literally one of the worst schedules in the nation. I don't care how hard it is to schedule tougher teams. That doesn't mean anything to me.



Moving to 8 teams just brings in multiple loss teams that deserve no right to be in the discussion.
