Re: rspencer86's 20-Minute All Conference Sliders

I just played the most thrilling and most intense game of 2k8 using the adjusted 0 OREB and 0 DREB slider settings. I still go killed on the glass though. I took controll of Kansas against visiting kentucky. I love the way the game opens at Allen Field House with the crowd singing. Kansas has a sick pressure defense forcing turnovers. I scored at least 10 points off forced turnovers. That's different from playing with Miami. I also did a much better job of getting out on the shooters. I think you have to occasionally switch off the ball to defend against wing players getting open.

I was in command of the game until about the 7 minute mark when UK made a run. I felt powerless to stop them. The took the lead under 2 minutes. I was down by 2 with 28 seconds to go when my PF (Jackson) saw Brandon Rush spotting up in the corner on the far side. He hit him for an open THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! This put me up by 1. The cpu missed on the ensuing possesion. I grabbed the rebound then they fouled a couple times to put me in bonus and send me to the line. Chalmers hit the first but missed the second with 8 seconds left. Kansas grabbed the rebound and dribbled downcourt, down by 2 at this point. They set up and found an open big about 18 feet in and I was like, "oh no, if this game goes into overtime I'm gonna lose." The loser bricked the last second shot attempt and I win. Felt soooo damn good to finally win one. See the details below:

Is anybody shooting their FT attempts using real ability? I am for the first time in a video game and like it. THANK YOU SO MUCH SPENCER for these settings.

Oh yeah, I'm gonna up the cpu 3PT ability to 50 like you have it in your update. I think I have mine set to 47 or 48.

Scotty, are you running plays or freestyling like me? Go with the update, you should see more realistic number of FT by the cpu.

Re: rspencer86's 20-Minute All Conference Sliders

I'm doing it freestyle!

I just had the lowest scoring game ever.
Only because I put the time down to 12 minutes and put it on fast animation.
But, I found something you guys might wanna try out.
Turn "switch on pass" off.
Play as one offense player i.e. Mannie Harris with Michigan.
I played Purdue @ Michigan, in respect of today, and beat Purdue 45-25
lol, i'm sick at defense.
I had 53% FG, while they had 27%
oh man.
Hey, do any of you guys ever get on aim?
If you do, add me at SithMasterScotty
haha, its an old screename

Re: rspencer86's 20-Minute All Conference Sliders

I started a legacy with MS St.
I won the first game like 64-44
Then I had this game.

I made some changes to some of the sliders and just had the best game I've ever had in my entire life. If you are intrested in the changes I made, then I will post them. Clemson was so hard the first half then I guess my real life clutch factor stepped in and I started playing well. (I have it off in the game) This game was definately a wonderful thing. I brought MS St. back from a devastating lead that Clemson had over us (38-16). I finally had it tied up at 52-52 and Clemson started nailing 3's again. It was 69-60 before too long. I started to hop on my stealing train and tied it at 72-72 with 1:30 left. I made a three. Clemson then made a two. I held the ball till there was about 40 seconds left. Clemson stole it and scored another two. It seemed hopeless at 76-75 with 24 seconds left. Then all that hope was at loss when they stole it, drove it all the way down the court and MISSED! I grabbed it threw a long pass and shot a three with like my worst player and MADE IT at 0.9 seconds! I virtually stole the show at 76-78. BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED! Thank you so much for these sliders and letting me enjoy a game I didnt think I would enjoy!

Here is the comparison!
ClemsonMSst.txt

BTW: What is the easist way to make it all aligned on a post? Everytime I copy-and-paste it from wordpad into this, it always takes out the TABS I put in for alignment.

Wow, sounds like quite a game!

Sure, go ahead and post the changes that you made. The more input, the better!

As for posting box scores, just copy and paste from notepad, then put (CODE) and (/CODE) around your text, changing the ( ) to [ ].

Re: rspencer86's 20-Minute All Conference Sliders

Hey Scot,

That was a great game you played against Clemson. Fun times, uh? Miami is on Miss State's schedule. Post the stats from that game including some individual stats. Want to see how my boyz did against you. That Vanardy guy you guys have down low is a beast blocking shots. How's he doing in your legacy?

Yes, please post your settings. A couple things I noticed in the stats you've posted so far: The number of FTA for both you and the cpu seem low in the stats for the 2 games you've posted. It seems like niether you nor the cpu drive or shoot from inside (a lot of jump shots). You also have a lot of steals. 30 in one game? Man, what kind of defense do you play? Do you press the whole game?

Yes, those are the two issues I've noticed with the stats scotty has posted. 30 steals in the game doesn't even seem possible with the reach-in foul setting so high. I use Mizzou and press the entire game and still can only manage an absolute maximum of about 15-20. Also, both myself and DeadlyCane have been seeing around 20 FTA per team per game, which doesn't match up at all with the box scores from scotty's games.
