They could do that easy (probably even hit 3-5 million) even if they didn't include the create a level and share it feature. It's a pretty cool platformer (if you like those) with some very unique customization options built in. LBP has still sold over 1 million copies in total although I'm sure they were hoping for more. They really pushed LBP at the gaming conventions.

The PS3 may end up finishing last in North America. But I think it's still leading the 360 in Europe and of course Japan. Either way, as long as cross platform games keep being made for both systems and EA supports it fully, I won't really care if the PS3 finishes last.

I have been seeing a LOT more PS3 commercials lately... actually more than 360.

Not just Sony only commercials either. Best Buy adds, Toys R Us, etc.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes. They are also showing commercials for the PSN. Finally someone over at SCEA HQ woke up.

If you would have told me two years ago, that in December 2008, the PS3 would not be a must buy console for me I would have laughed in your face. I consider the PS2 the greatest console of all time(The 360 is gaining on it, IMO, though), but the only two titles that standout to me as "really would like to have" are Disgaea 3 and Valkyria Chronicles. Nothing screams "system seller" for me though.

If The Show were a basketball or a football game, then that would do it, but not for a baseball game.

For non sports gamers, the XBOX 1 sold basically all of its units because of two titles, Halo and KOTOR. The PS3 needs an exclusive, "9.8", Game of the Year, game that can move a million hardware units by itself. I guess God of War 3 may be that game, but I'm not sure.

Killzone 2 may end up being a masterpiece, but the anger people have toward the inability of the first game to live up to the hype, may doom it.

I agree. The 360 has Halo and Gears of War which have blown any PS3 game away in terms of sales. I thought Metal Gear Solid might have been a system seller and it did well but not close to the same level as a Halo or Gears of War game. Right now I don't know if that PS3 game will happen or not. I think Uncharted 2 will be a huge success but I still don't think that will move PS3s on a crazy scale. Until the PS3 comes down to the $299 price range, it probably won't matter.

Those Wii numbers are just insane. Nintendo has silenced all of the critics with how well the Wii has done. They identifyed an overshot market—the casual and nongamers—and delivered something with mass appeal at an affordable price.

I still think the software library for the Wii is pretty sad. One of my favorite things to do in Gamestop is to just take a step back and soak in all of the terrible titles that sit on the shelves of the Wii section. Try it sometime, the "games" you will see will make you crack up. Petz Crazy Monkeyz, Party Babyz... you just can't make this stuff up.
