I decided to hold onto my Wii in hopes that something decent comes out. Even my gf's 9-year old is not fooled by the Wii. After only having his own for less than 6 months, he is asking for a 360 for Christamas. He won't get it as we're getting him a PSP bundle.

yes, the xbox lived off of halo, but the xbox only sold 24 million consoles worldwide in 4 years, with something like 16 million of those in the US. The 360 just recently passed that number worldwide, and the ps3 is only a couple of million behind that. So the ps3 hasn't done too bad without its own chart topping exclusive. You can probably argue that bluray has been its marketable system seller.

God of War was one of my favorite games last generation, and I'm definitely interested in God of War 3. However, the franchise never was a huge seller for Sony, as the previous two only combined for 5 million in sales during the peak years of the ps2. That's low in comparison to the Halo, Gears of War, and Metal Gear Solid franchises. It'll be interesting how God of War 3 does compared to MGS4.

Thing about that is they wouldn't make the game if nobody would buy it. The Wii is a great venue for that stuff.
