Re: College Football 25 - How Is Your Dynasty Going?

UPDATE!

We won the championship. 21-14 over Stanford. My number 1 cb changed the game. Caught a pick in the endzone when Stanford was gonna go up 21-14 with 4 minutes left. Instead it was us that drove down to go up by 7! I wasn’t planning on it and that’s my fault.. but my QB declared for the draft early and went in the first round. Very happy for the guy but bummed cuz I didn’t plan for a replacement. We are now a 3.5 star program. But without my 96 overall qb I am now going to roll with an 81 overall junior. Let’s see how well he can fill those shoes!

We threw everything we had at a 5 star QB recruit. By some miracle he signed with a 2 star school. 2026 with our new qb we went 11-3 but still lost the MWC championship. 2027 we went 13-2. Won in the first round of the playoffs. We got blown out in the second round. For the 2028 season college football was shaken up by moving around conferences. I used Neinhardt's realignment. The only difference was he had New Mexico as an Independent. I put us in the Pac-12 Western Rockies division. We are far too good to be with the independents in that alignment.

Now after the shake up in 2028... My team is now a 3 star 87 overall. Huge jump from starting as a 1 star 77 overall. That 5 star qb recruit in his junior year is now a 96 overall and is so accurate!

We are currently 13-2 and playing Stanford for the national championship!!! Although during the regular season we did not play many good teams. We only played two winning teams. Clemson and the Utes. We lost both of those games. Come the first round of the playoffs we played the team that beat us to end the regular season... The number 8 ranked Utes!! Now do we had to prove that we could beat a winning team. We had to prove we belonged in the playoffs despite a weak schedule. We won that game 45-37. On to the next round. Oh look we play the other winning team that beat us, number 1 ranked Clemson! Another chance to prove we could hang with the big boys in college football. We demolished Clemson. They did not show up to play at all. We won 54-16. Next round we had Syracuse. Syracuse ranked number 12 also did not make the trip to play. We had a very easy game. Cruised by them 49-0. Now I am about to load up to play the championship game against Stanford.

Re: College Football 25 - How Is Your Dynasty Going?

Wazzu enters PAC-12 play a perfect 6-0. We struggled and trailed 14-3 in the Apple Cup but turned it on and won 36-14. We then crushed a 4-1 North Texas team and followed with a 41-21 win over a 4-1 New Mexico (looks to be the MWC powerhouse rated as 85’s across the board).

Our offensive explosion tapered off starting in the Apple Cup. We were held to under 300 total yards that game. Our QB who was on pace for a 4000+ yard season is now on pace for 3200 or so. It looks like we’re likely to have one 1000 yard receiver now instead of two, and our running back should break 1000 unless he gets hurt (he is somewhat fragile…)

Defensively our team has made strides. We’ve become an avid blitzing defense, coming with pressure about 40-45% of plays. It’s worked as we lead the nation in sacks. We’ve picked up a ton of interceptions in the last 3 games as well, including 5 against North Texas.

Making the playoff seems all but certain as the PAC is fairly weak (no other team is better than 81 overall, I’m an 85). We have a strong shot at an undefeated regular season!

Re: College Football 25 - How Is Your Dynasty Going?

Couple of crazy stats in my Charlotte dynasty -- end of year 2

1. Tulane entered the CFP ranked #3. Shutout Notre Dame in the finals 38-0 to win the National Championship (fun fact...I beat Tulane 28-20, week 14) Absolutely insane.

2. TCU finished 4-8 (1-8 conf.) with a point differential of +4 (318-314). Unlucky team!

Year 3 notes -- 6-0 with wins against Stanford and Ole Miss (weeks 1+2); ranked #10 heading into week 8

Re: College Football 25 - How Is Your Dynasty Going?

I did lose the game against Oregon, but close wins against Stanford and Cal put me back in top 10 in the rankings. have to play @ San Diego State and a home game against UCLA. SDSU is fighting to get to 6-6, UCLA is having a terrible year, 1-9. worst overall record in Pac-12, although Cal is 0-6 in conference and last. Oregon and Washington state look to be the class of the conference. me I'm technically 4th in the conference behind Oregon(I lost to), Washington State(did not have to play)and USC(I lost to). behind me is Washington and Oregon State, both i did not have to play. my schedule was probably the easiest of the PAc-12 teams for the conference games.

Secured my first 5* recruit in my Fresno State Dynasty. excited to see him play next season. Losing my top 3 WRs, definitely need him immediately.

unfortunately Arizona State beat me to the 5* WR I was going after. would have been a fantastic Freshman corp of WRs. Have a 4* Wr that committed as well, short Agile likely to be slot WR.
They also took a 4* Gem OT from me. them and Oregon taking some of my targets this year.

Re: College Football 25 - How Is Your Dynasty Going?

Welcome to the College Football Enquirer with our hosts Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellinger, and SI's Pat Forde.
Dan W.: Well, can you say quarterback controversy? And can you say it is happening at Auburn? Wait to hear the details of this situation. Pat, tell us what you know.
Pat F.: QB controversy, you say. So, QB W. White decided to take to social media and call out the Troy Trojans days leading up to this week's game. Coach Chuck E. Cheese had to remind this player that this Auburn team is above that, and White could sit this game out. So, what happens? QB Marcus Zimmons comes in and goes 23/30, 297 yards, 2 TD's, and no picks.
Ross D.: And don't forget that when the game was well in hand, Coach Cheese puts in QB H. Geriner who goes 12/14, 136 yards, 2 TD's, and no picks. RB Jeremiah Cobb rushed for 99 yards and 146 receiving yards. It was just a field day for these receivers.
Pat F.: And that is putting it mildly. Troy had nothing for this Auburn passing game. I mean the coach benches the starting QB, and the team does not miss a single beat.

Dan W.: Let's not discount what crazy good job the defense did. They are hitting their stride now. Allowing 217 yards of offense, allowing 22% on 3rd down conversions, and so many tackles for loss, I can't even count that high.
Ross D.: Now, the question is what does Coach Cheese do in regards to this QB situation? It isn't like this Zimmons kid came in and did an average job. He did the job at QB that is normally done. We will surely have to keep an eye in the upcoming weeks.
Dan W.: See you next week fans. That's all for us here.

Re: College Football 25 - How Is Your Dynasty Going?

Strange endings to a bunch of conference championship games leads to a strange Playoff bracket for my 2026 season Fresno State Dynasty.

going into the Championship week
Big Ten #1 Ohio State vs #25 Wisconsin
ACC #4 Clemson vs #2 Pittsburgh
SEC #3 Georgia vs #12 LSU
PAC-12 #11 USC vs #5 Oregon (my Fresno State team was #6, but lost to both of these teams)
American - #9 Charlotte vs #19 Memphis
Big 12 #21 UCF vs #14 Colorado
C-USA #17 WKU vs #22 Middle Tenn State
Sunbelt #14 South Alabama vs Coastal Carolina

before the week, not teams outside the top 12 were in the playoffs, and it was Georgia, Oregon, Clemson, Ohio state with byes, Charlotte as 5th conference champ. LSU last team in at #12 ranked.

Well Ohio state lost. Wisconsin still doesnt make playoffs, Ohio State makes it as 5th seed, and only falls to #2 in the rankings.

Clemson beats Pittsburgh, becomes #1 and 1st seed. Pitt also makes it in, #3 ranked, 6th seed.

LSU kills Georgia, LSU ranked #9 gets 2nd seed, Georgia makes it at 9th seed, ranked #6

USC killed Oregon, #10 ranked, but 3rd seed. Oregon gets in 11th seed

Memphis beats charlotte and ranked #15, gets 12th seed as the 5th highest conference champ. charlotte ranked #13 not in playoffs.

UCF beats Colorado, neither gets into playoffs.

Middle Tenn State beat WKU, neither makes playoffs.

South alabama beats coastal, gets ranked #12 and gets the 4th seed

Notre Dame gets in, they were #1 team for the longest, lost in last week to USC.

Fresno State gets in, as well as Washington State. Both Pac-12 teams, but we did not play each other in the Season, now playing in first round.

went through Bowl week 1 and 2.

Ohio State beat Memphis 31-27
Georgia beat Notre dame 45-31
Pittsburgh beat Oregon 24-17

my game against Washington state started slow, Wazzu lead 3-0 after 1st. at the half I lead 14-13, Wazzu scored a FG to begin the 2nd half, 16-14. I answered with a TD pass, then stoped them on D and actually got a PR for TD(my first in this dynasty), lead 28-16, they got 2 more TD to my 1, they were driving form a potential win, but threw a Pick in the red zone on 4th down and I ran out the clock to win 35-30

on to the 2nd Bowl Week.

South Alabama beat Ohio State 43-35
Georgia beat Clemson 47-45
USC beat Pittsburgh 45-27

in my game against LSU, once again started out slow. LSU lead 3-0 after the 1st. I score a TD 3rd play of the 2nd quarter to lead 7-3, LSU responded with a TD to retake the lead 10-7. I returned the favor to take back the lead 14-10. LSU threw an INT, I turned it into a TD drive to take a 21-10 lead. LSU gets a PR for TD (the first I've allowed in this dynasty) 21-17. I threw a Pick, it ended in a FG. 21-20. I had to punt again, and LSU nearly got another TD, scored a TD the next play to go into the half leading 27-21.

LSU scored first in 2nd half, went for 2 but failed. they lead 33-21. I scored before the end of the 3rd, still down 33-28. traded punts, I pinned them inside the 20, forced a punt, drove down the field and got into the endzone with 15 seconds left to take the lead 36-33 (got a 2Pt play). hung on to win 36-33. I did not expect to win that game at all.

Semi-final matchups.
South Alabama vs Georgia
USC vs Fresno State

USC beat me 41-38 in Week 1 of the Season, although it was 41-24 with 5 minutes to go in the game. I scored 14 points late to make it look closer.

South Alabama actually beat USC in week 3 of the season. Their 2 losses were to Coastal Carolina and App State. they beat Coastal in the rematch for the conference champ.

Georgia Lost to Mississippi state early in the year, then lost to LSU in SEC champ. they pretty much dominated everyone else they played. LSU was the only 10 win team they played. most teams on their schedule were around 6-6 or 7-5

Re: College Football 25 - How Is Your Dynasty Going?

Welcome to the College Football Enquirer with our hosts Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellinger, and SI's Pat Forde.
Dan W.: As Louisiana -Monroe came to Auburn to play against the #19 ranked, yes, finally ranked, Tigers, which quarterback would they see take the field? Could the Auburn defense continue to hold their own on defense? What is the ceiling for this team? Pat, what do you have for us?
Pat F.: We did see QB Marcus Zimmons take the field and do pretty good. He went 31/43, 279 yards, 2 TD's, and 3 picks. QB W. White came in the game and went 5/7, 93 yards, 2 TD's, and no picks. The rushing game held up with RB J. Cobb with 16 rushes for 125 yards and a TD. For some reason, the ULM defense was able to control the run game against Auburn RB D. Alston. But that's okay because Alston came through with 123 receiving yards. Wide receivers B. Cain, C. Burton, and C. Brown had 11 catches combined for almost 180 yards and 4 TD's.
Ross D.: And yes, the defense did answer the question if they were going to bring it. This is going to sound insane, but ULM had 34 yards of total offense including 4 first downs. How does that happen? How did this Auburn team do that? Only allowing 13% on 3rd down conversions and keeping the running game in check. Auburn had a total of 12 sacks in this game.
Ross D.: If you go back and look at the game closely, the defensive coordinator took left DE Whit Weeks and looped him around to the middle of the line semi-delay fashion, and he came up the middle and had 2.5 sacks and 6 tackles for loss. There were a ton of other players that had sacks and TFL's, but if we listed them, it would take up the rest of the podcast.
Pat F.: And if this team can keep on doing what they are doing, they will finish the regular season undefeated, win the Sun Belt, have a spot in the playoff, but there is one game on the horizon.

Dan W.: Oh yes, the Iron Bowl. Alabama is undefeated and ranked #1. Don't forget last season in Tuscaloosa. This Auburn team only lost by 8 points. What a game that could be for us college football fans.
Pat F.: Oh for sure. I can't wait for that game. And this season, it is at Auburn.
Dan W.: We will keep it rolling next week fans. That's all for us.
