Looked to me like someone was pressing the strip button instead of the tackle button...

I don't see a problem with this. Maybe you do have a point. I am just saying that I see really sloppy tackling all the time in college football. Every tackle attempt shouldn't be successful and it shouldn't be a clean tackle.

Now, if we were talking about the "body slam animation"...that is a different story. That has to go!

Ok...I just watched the clip again...I think you do have a point. Retract what I said. I think my biggest fear is that EA goes in the opposite extreme and doesn't account for sloppy, arm tackles or missed tackles.

no, thats not the failed strip ball animation. I rarely used the strip ball button anyway. and to clear it up, I was UTEP(the orange team) in that video.

theres a difference between a sloppy tackle and this "greased pig" animation. I'm not suggesting every tackle should be successful. I don't have a problem with broken tackles being in the game, but this particular animation is not realistic and needs to go. I don't see how anyone can look at that animation and think it's ok.

The greased pig is a realistic animation, but it doesn't happen as often in real life as in the game.

As we saw in the videos anywhere from 1-6 defenders could miss a tackle like that in a single down, which realistically would only probably happen once a play.

This missed tackle happens because a defender is going at full stride towards a defender and because of poor angling on the defender he changes his upper body's position to correct his angling mistake but his legs still go in the original direction causing an unbalance and throws the defender off into a humiliating motion.

SMH @ anyone who thinks this animation is realistic or an example of a broken tackle.

Problems:

1. The ball carrier gets an insane speed burst for a split second as they "wiggle/shake" off of the defender.
2. There is no actual contact between the players, but a force field effect happens.
3. Any defensive back who stumbles on their own feet every game will not last in a D-1 secondary.

This needs to be removed from the game and replaced with realistic broken tackle animations. I believe this was mentioned by an EA dev (either Greg or Russ) a while ago though and they said it was being addressed. If I can find a quote, I'll post it.

??? If a defender is going full stride towards the ball carrier, then won't he be running into this ball carrier (and likely running over them)?

Show me an example of real world footage where a player is running full speed towards a ball carrier or receiver, then stumbles on their own feet, then gives that ball carrier a speed burst while creating ZERO contact between the players.

As a matter of fact, can anyone come up with this footage because I'd love to submit it to America's Funniest Home Videos.

Wait until the games are released before passing judgment, please. I could see your complaint as valid if all the info on the games had been released, but even that hasn't happened yet.
