Re: Passing Game Broken

Thanfully I'm having a blast and see none of these "broken" elements of the game

This is the big one, the defense reacts the millisecond the button is touched. The DL can be up in the air to knock down passes before you even start the throwing motion, the defenders immediately break on the ball, even though the ball hasn't been thrown. Rushing defenders immediately stop and play the ball (which hasn't been thrown).

That is the killer. It is almost like the game needs to slow the defense reaction time on a pass a few milliseconds.

Those 2 sound like veteran NFL players, not college guys.

And 60% completion down field? Mallett last year completed 55.8% of his passes. That was all passes, not just 1 on 1 wheel routes against mediocre Purdue. I think you need to reevaluate what it is you want to accomplish on this game as far as realism goes before you spout off that anything is broken.

That is a well thrown deep ball. You can see the intended WR DeSean Hales get cleanly off the line and get a step on the DB and catch it for six. Passing game doesn't look very broken to me.
Haha that's funny I just watched the video and watched as the 2 LB's run to the left and stand there...yep...nothing's broken..

I could understand if I was doing this with some garbage QB, but I was doing this with Case Keenum and it was nowhere close.

In my experience the out routes are one of the more realistic routes in the game. Of course never try to throw it with a week armed QB. Are you using precision passing? Before the WR makes his cut? Not against an all american corner? Not against zone right?

I want the ball not to hit my receiver in the middle of his back when he's beaten his guy and there's nobody within 10 yards of him.

Re: Passing Game Broken

The passing game is different. A lot of the routes that worked in past versions don't work this year against normal man defense. This might be the first time that you could make an argument that normal man is as effective as bump n run in this game. But there are routes and methods to beat it. Slants, crosses, posts, and go routes (if you throw it right) still work. Corner routes will sometimes work. Some things are easier to show than to tell.

Good luck. Don't give up on it.
