I led 17 - 7 at the half and the only score in the 2nd half was a Louisiana TD. - Beat Louisiana Monroe (if they aren't already, they are arguably the worst team in the game) 34 - 31 on the road. I was down 31 - 20 going into the 4th. I brought the deficit to 5 and had the ball on my 45 with just over 2 minutes left. I scored a TD to go up 1. Then I went for a 2 point conversion to make up for the one I missed earlier in the game. I converted it to take the lead by 3 with about 45 seconds to go. ULM drove to my 40 and with 7 seconds left and no TO's, they threw a Hail Mary which I picked off. The challenge has certainly been there on AJV. The mix of scores is also incredible. I had those consistent great defensive games, but then ULM tears me up and it takes away the "this is too easy" feeling. Again, that's against a horrendous team. I think they are between a 71 - 73 rated offense. I can't wait to continue seeing how things go.

So is the Average Joe Varsity the "easiest"? Average Joe AA is supposed to be slightly harder, I assume?
I can only play one game a night and trying to prioritize the most relevant sliders first to try

I've been pleasantly surprised, also, how well this game is playing...

Just a couple of questions..

1. Should I be starting a new dynasty (again) since the patch last night? Or do I already have the new patch? I started a new Dynasty yesterday at 2pm est and I don't remember installing a new patch..
2. Some folks are complaining about to many unrealistc upsets while simming the rest of the week after playing your teams game... or was this just super simming?? I'm lost..
3. I see nothing but positive posts in this particular thread yet I'm seeing some disappointment in the game on the main forum page.. I'm trying not to focus on that because Armour is so high on this game he HAS to be right. Right!!?

Yes that is correct. Average Joe Varsity is certainly a challenge though. My thinking is this. Get a good sample with with Average Joe Varsity and if it's too easy, adjust the sliders to make it how you need or jump up to Average Joe AA or regular AA that are on the first page. The big thing is getting a good sample size though. Ie, if I had just taken the 3 games prior to ULM and said defense is way too easy, I wouldn't have figured out I can get knocked back to reality by a crap rated ULM offense.

1. Not sure if you are on PS5 or not but if you are, X out of the game. Go to the app on the main dashboard and hit the start button or whatever you want to call it. Then click check for update. It will either say there's an update or that you are all up to date. Not sure how it works on XBOX.

2. Yes there's a lot of upsets. Not sure about super sim but definitely regular simming. However, if you feel like there are too many, create your own house rules for games you feel have a very heavy favorite. You choose a winner by going to the schedule, hitting X, and force winning home or away. You can decide yourself or have some fun with it. Ie. you can use an online spinner with 1 - 100 as outcomes or whatever you want. If it lands on 100, the underdog wins. If it lands on any other number the favored team wins. Then you just force win the result. It's your dynasty so do what you want.

3. If you want to get annoyed, frustrated, and hate this game, look at the main page. If you don't, I'd stick to this thread. The game has it's flaws but it's easily the best football simulation we've had IMO. The flaws are pretty small I'd say. If people don't think the game is good, that's their problem. Enjoy the game and don't worry about what others think because it will likely make you go crazy and end up hating the game.

Oh and you do not have to restart dynasty with the patch from last week if you don't want. Most changes don't affect existing dynasties. The patch notes provides the changes that do require a new dynasty though. You just have to decide if those changes are worth the restart or not.

I’m not convinced that the average Joe Varsity sliders are easier than the All American sliders. The difference is the defensive heat seeker being on with All American and it’s off on the Varsity sliders. So far for me playing defense on Varsity with heat seeker off is harder than playing all American with heat seeker on.

Solid! That's what I needed to hear. I received an email this morning early talking about "the update" and started thinking there was an update yesterday.. lol
