I also like the possession stats.

I often dominate possession (63/37) but lose anyway ...

CPU gets three or four attacks ... and usually gets two goals.

I have played on normal my entire FIFA career since my first game in 2002. After hearing some buzz on here since joining before the release of 11 I decided to play a few demo games on slow. I wasn't too impressed and didn't think it made enough of a difference for me to have to switch between slow and normal game speeds between CM and games online/against a friend. Normal to me isn't too quick at all, you need to slow the game down yourself, which actually kinda represents real life if you think about it. I am making a complete assumption here because I obviously haven't watched any of you play, but it seems like people feel like they don't have a lot of time on the ball, so they rush what they want to do next. Similar to if you are playing a game of pick up basketball and every time there is a missed shot, someone is trying to run a fast break so everyone sprints down to the opposite end of the floor and a miss results in the same thing coming back the other way. I guess what I'm trying to say is that in that situation, the "game speed" isn't too fast, just everyone is playing in a way that is speeding the style of the game up rather than collecting a rebound and slowing everything down by holding the ball. I have been able to play this game since it came out and haven't had much of a problem with the gameplay (although I believe that it has improved a bit post-patch) and think my best advice for everyone is to try to slow the game down yourself, even if you play on normal game speed. Cut off the passes the CPU makes to their forwards immediately instead of pressuring the ball, make a few seemingly unnecessary passes in your midfield and with your backs, I feel like when I do little stuff like this, the CPU slows themselves as well.

Just FYI ...

I started a separate thread about the game speed question.

Give it a look.

8 games into my restarted CM and a player has increased from an 82 to 83. Don't know if this is due to the patch or if it was just coincidence, I guess time will tell.

This happened pre-patch.

Played half a game -- great sample size, eh? -- on world class as Forest against another Championship team last night after playing clubs. I was amazed to see the CPU regularly missing ground passes if I played passing lanes and saw the less accurate through balls Matt has mentioned.

No idea if this is patch-related or not and I did have it on normal game speed -- which wasn't too bad using 3* teams. I do find it odd that in all the games I played around release on semi-pro against weak teams to unlock accomplishments, I rarely saw missed passes like this. Sure I could take the ball off them without any difficulty on that level, but they could string passes together if I gave them a chance...

At any rate, I think I'll be starting a manager career with Forest this week with my VP at CB to earn some defensive accomplishments along the way (and to keep me from forcing him the ball all game).

I knew players grew, just that pre-patch it was very rare as players hardly got better. In my pre-patch CM that same player only grew that same amount over the 3 years I had played. I meant it as a possible sign of players being able to grow regularly if they played well.

I tried normal speed for a game in my Arsenal CM. Didn't notice any real differences except all the players were faster and the game was a bit more arcade-like. The animations were a tad smoother. Normal is probably fine when using 3 star teams or lower though. Using the bigger clubs, it just seemed too fast paced.
