History: Novara Calcio is an Italian football club based out of Novara, Piedmont, a city located in the northwestern mountains of Italy. The club was founded in 1908 and plays at the Stadio Silvio Piola which has a capacity of 17,875. Novara has mostly played in the lower divisions of Italian football, but they have had some spells in Serie A. Novara's best ever Serie A finish was 8th in 1952. The club was relegated back to Serie B in 1956 and would later fall all the way to Serie C2. The 2011-12 season would see Novara back in Serie A for the first time in 55 years. However, the club finished in 19th place and were immediately relegated back to Serie B. Last season, in 2012-13, Novara finished in 5th place in Serie B but were eliminated in the promotion play-offs by Empoli. The club hopes a strong Serie B campaign in 2013-14 will earn them a spot back in Serie A.
Domestic Players (Italian Rule): To comply with Federcalcio regulations regarding domestic players, Novara must have 4 Italian players on the pitch at all times.
Transfer Targets: Novara's primary goal will be acquiring Italian talent from bigger Serie A clubs via purchase or loan and developing players through the youth system. For players from abroad, Novara will look on the continents of Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia for any potential transfers.

As your can see, I will be doing a Serie B CM with Novara. I just got the urge to dive into Italian football. I still will have an update for Terek by tomorrow or Saturday. I'm thinking Plymouth Argyle might be too good of a squad for the Football League Two, so I might switch to Southend United. I haven't made a final decision on that though. Anyway, expect more updates this weekend. It's been a crazy week at work, so I'm a little behind, but the updates are coming!
CB - Sergi Gomez (Spain) (74 OVR 25yrs) Pre-Contract Arrival From Celta Vigo
The former Barcelona defender has arrived at Basque Country under a free transfer that was agreed on last January. Gomez, a native of Catalonia, came up through Barcelona's youth academy and made one 90-minute official appearance for the senior team under Pep Guardiola before leaving the Catalans and joining Celta de Vigo in 2014 where he's been one of their starting centre backs. Gomez has played with Spain's Youth National Teams at all levels and has also played with the Catalonia National Team, but has never played with Spain's senior team. The 25 year old tactician joins Osasuna as a possible replacement for the aging captain Miguel Flaño.
CM - Jose Campaña (Spain) (75 OVR 24yrs) Purchased from Sampdoria for $14m
Campaña started his football career early, joining Sevilla's youth academy at the age of 7 and then making his debut with Sevilla B at age 16. Campaña was very successful with Spain's Youth National Teams participating at all levels and even wearing the captain's armband in his final appearances. Campaña played at the 2013 U20 World Cup as a starter for Spain along with a generation of future stars such as Suso, Paco Alcacer, Jesé, Oliver Torres, and Gerard Deulofeu. However at club level, it took him some time to establish himself as an important name. He left Sevilla in 2013 to join Crystal Palace, who then loaned him out to Nurnberg in 2014. After his loan ended, he was purchased by Sampdoria that same year, who then loaned him out to FC Porto. He had struggled to find game time with his clubs, making his most appearances with Nurnberg (10) since leaving Sevilla. However after his loan with Porto ended he became a crucial first team player for Sampdoria which is why Osasuna had to pay $14,000,000, a record breaking fee for Chavez, in order to bring him back to Spain. Campaña has shown glimpses of being a virtuoso midfielder his entire career, but defending is his weakness. Serie A's slow and controlled style of play allowed him to show his skill and become a crucial player, but he will be aiming to prove that he can be just as important in Spain and maybe even return to the national team who once considered him a future star.

CM - Victor Camarasa (Spain) (76 OVR 23yrs) Purchased by Malaga CF for $5m + $10k pay raise
Camarasa was brought to Osasuna in Chavez's first season, and he has been an important player for Los Rojillos ever since. He played well as both a holding midfielder and a box to box midfielder, but after he announced that he would not be signing a contract extension Chavez removed him from his plans. Even though Camarasa ended up actually signing the second contract that was offered to him, Chavez still decided to let him go as he had previously shown he wasn't 100% with the club. Chavez didn't get in the way of Camarasa's desire to leave and accepted the first offer that came in which was from Malaga, a club that has done business with Chavez in two separate occasions in the past. In the past, Malaga purchased Francisco Silva from Osasuna and also traded Sergi Darder for Raoul Loe, which makes Camarasa the fourth midfielder to go from one club to another since Chavez's arrival.
CM - Maikel Mesa (Spain) (66 OVR 26yrs) Loaned to RC Recreativo
RW - Jose David Ramirez (Mexico) (65 OVR 21yrs) Loaned to Racing Santander
Ramirez came to Osasuna as one of the most recent prospects of Guadalajara's highly esteemed youth academy, and while he did play well for Osasuna he hasn't improved his game very much. This loan spell is intended to help Ramirez gain experience and grow. If he doesn't, then he may not be an Osasuna player next season.
CB - David Garcia (Spain) (65 OVR 23yrs) Purchased by CD Numancia for $525k
ST - Manuel Onwu (Spain) (67 OVR 29yrs) Purchased by Deportivo La Coruña for $775k
CM - Mikel Merino (Spain) (64 OVR 21yrs) Purchased by Deportivo La Coruña for $475k Texasbum's Deportivo have put their trust in former Osasuna players Onwu and Merino to help them fight for survival in La Liga. Both players have played really well for the Osasuna B-Team in the past and Deportivo will hope to get the same, if not better, football out of them. Manuel Onwu still holds the title of B-Team (CM) Top Scorer so the recently promoted side are looking forward to seeing if he can find his goal scoring form again after only scoring one goal for Osasuna last season.
CAM - Jose Garcia (Spain) (63 OVR 20yrs) Loaned to RCD Mallorca
CB - Unai Garcia (Spain) 65 OVR 24yrs) Loaned to CD Lugo
ST - *Roussillon Murnane (Spain) (59 OVR 18yrs) Loaned to Dagenham

Official Matches
Villarreal CF 3 - 3 CA Osasuna OSA: Guillermo 4' 61' Palacios 68' VIL: Traoré 26' Costa 39' Moreno 90'
A great match worthy of a season opener, with the Basques and Valencians (not a typo) going toe to toe the entire ninety minutes. A dressing room goal started it all with Federico Palacios drifting wide to the right wing and then crossing the ball into the box to find Guillermo who then headed it into the net. A great start of the season for the Osasuna's star striker who continues his preseason goal scoring form.
Villarreal's goalkeeper Asenjo appears to have thought the ball was going out of bounds but was shocked to see the ball betray him and go into the net. The Yellow Submarine pushed forward looking for the equalizer and it was achieved in the 26th minute with their big man in the box Traoré heading in a free kick cross after losing Albentosa's loose mark. Villarreal completely turned the table just fourteen minutes later with a low shot from Costa that crept into the net through Riesgo's near post. 2-1 for Villarreal and they showed no signs of slowing down after the break. Osasuna refused to lose their first match of the season at home though, and in the 61st minute Guillermo overlapped Palacios with a run from behind and Palacios showed great vision to send a through ball in his direction. Guillermo did not waste any time and took his shot first time, beating Asenjo yet again.
Just seven minutes later Osasuna would flip the script and retake the lead with Guillermo sending Palacios a lobbed pass from the attacking third. Palacios brought the ball down and then used his speed to sprint past his markers and just barely get a shot in to put Osasuna ahead.
Right before the final whistle Villarreal rescued a point by capitalizing on a costly mistake from Riesgo. The ball had been crossed into the box and Riesgo came off his line but did not make an attempt for the ball. Moreno was given the liberty to head the ball and that's exactly what he did, equalizing the match at three all. An exciting match with great attacking and almost inexistent goalkeepers.
Champions League - Qualifying Round SK Rapid Wien 1 - 2 CA Osasuna (B-Team) SKR: Alar 45' OSA: Davila 57' Kodro 79'
One of the most important matches in Chavez's career, as this was his opportunity of making it to his first ever, and the club's first ever, Champions League Group Stage. Chavez trusted his B-Team to take them to the Champions, and there was a hint of worry from the bench as Rapid Vienna played with strong motivation in Austria's capital. At approximately the 20th minute of the match, a penalty was called in favor of Osasuna and it froze the bench as this was the Spaniard's chance of taking a step towards the UCL. Ulises Davila stepped up, powered it to the right, but the keeper saved it!!!
The goalkeeper had dove too far to the right, but he was able to extend his foot and just barely save it with his leg. An incredible penalty save but terrible news for Osasuna! Only to make things worse, Vienna's Alar scored an amazing free kick right before the half to put Osasuna down 1-0. Alar has scored great free kicks on Osasuna last in the Europa League group stage, and he has done it again. Los Rojillos went into the halftime break with their heads low and down on the scoreline, but in the second half we saw a different Osasuna with more scoring opportunities. In the 57th minute Xavier Quinti, playing his first official start with Osasuna since signing for them in Chavez's first season, put in a perfect cross from the left wing and found Ulises Davila who lost his markers with his positioning and headed it into the net!
Osasuna had equalized and it was game on now. As we neared the end of the match Chavez dropped the 4-1-4-1 formation and changed to a 4-2-3-1, with Davila brought back to CAM and Kenan Kodro substituted in at ST. Marcos Alonso also came into the match at LM with the intention of bombarding the box with crosses. Kodro, the big man in the box, did exactly what Chavez brought him on for when he got to the end of a cross from Julian Luque and headed the ball into the net. The header went high and almost over, but it dropped just in time to go in under the crossbar! Impossible for the keeper to reach!
Vienna pushed forward for the equalizer but weren't able to get through Osasuna's defense in open play. The match ended 2-1, and Osasuna have highly important away goals going into the second leg which will be played at El Sadar.
CA Osasuna 1 - 0 Celta de Vigo OSA: Guillermo 88'
Osasuna made their season debut at home and boy was it a painful one. Los Rojillos dominated the match, but for one reason or another they just couldn't get the ball into the net. Celta's goalkeeper has to be praised, as he was given the MOTM award with 11 saves, but a huge chunk of the workload was picked up by his centre backs who played an outstanding match. Osasuna demolished Celta the last time they played with a tremendous 4-0 win, but since then Sergi Gomez has left Celta and joined Osasuna. Gomez was replaced by Costas next to De Amos and the two centre backs were impenetrable today. In the end Osasuna were finally able to get ahead in the scoreline, but it was only thanks to a rebound shot from Guillermo.
Yoel had continued his amazing form and saved a low shot from second half sub Ulises Davila on the left wing, but he parried it right to the center of the box where Guillermo anticipated it hit right back to score the winning goal. Osasuna took the three points but were left to wonder, did they get the right centre back from Celta?
Champions League - Qualifying Round CA Osasuna (B-Team) 3 (5) - (2) 1 SK Rapid Wien SKR: Kainz 27' OSA: Davila 54' Kodro 75' Luque 86'
Once again Vienna took the lead first this time in the 27th minute, and they equalized the aggregate score line. The Austrians had little more than an hour to score another goal to void Osasuna's away goal advantage and significantly increase their chances of advancing. However they decided to defend their 1-0 lead, and although they held it well through the first half it was a big mistake. Davila scored the equalizer in the 54th minute from a play that started in Osasuna's box. Vienna were trying to score anther goal by crowding the box and passing it around the edges, but Osasuna's Ivan managed to intercept one of the passes and then sprint up the field with it. Once he reached the attacking third he sent Davila a lobbed through ball which the Mexican forward brought down with great control, and then sent a powerful shot to the keepers far post that just barely avoided the woodwork and went in!
The home side didn't stop attacking there though as they wanted to make sure Vienna didn't get back up and give them another scare. Osasuna took the lead in the 75th minute and put Vienna to sleep with a shot hitting the crossbar and then second half sub Kenan Kodro diving to get to the rebound and score the deciding goal.
With little time left in the match Vienna were virtually out already, but Julian Luque made sure they were down and out by scoring the third goal for Osasuna in the 86th minute. Luque had received a pass from second half sub Nono and he then used his left foot to finesse and curve the ball into the net.
Vienna now had four minutes to score three goals. Needless to say they were unable to make a comeback, and Osasuna have qualified to their first ever Champions League!!! A huge accomplishment for the Basques who now have the opportunity to compete amongst Europe's best. Vienna really did have a chance at advancing, but they set up their game plan wrong. In the entire ninety minutes Vienna only had one shot on goal and that was their only goal of the match. Osasuna came out with the intention to win on aggregate and they achieved it.
Copa Europe FC Bayern Munich vs CA Osasuna
A cup that is overlooked at times, but a really good test for Osasuna who have just qualified to their first ever Champions League. Bayern Munich the champion of last year's Champions League, against Osasuna the champion of last year's Europa League.
Spoiler
FC Bayern Munich 2 - 0 CA Osasuna FCB: Rode 68' Schweinsteiger 90'
Bayern Munich are the sole Champions of Europe now, showing their class against an Osasuna that just wasn't up for the challenge. Even though the Spanish side held the majority of possession and a clean sheet in the first half, they had very little going forward. The scoreline wasn't opened until the 68th minute where Bayern's Rode took a soft, low shot that sneaked past Riesgo and made it into the net. Osasuna began to press higher after the goal in search for the equalizer, but all hopes were lost when Schweinsteiger made it 2-0 in the 90th minute with an amazing long shot from outside the box. Manuel Neuer was given the MOTM award for making 4 saves in the match.
Rayo Vallecano 1 - 1 CA Osasuna (B-Team) RAY: Pozuelo 71' OSA: Flaño 90'
Much like in the match against Celta, Osasuna dominated possession and had the most shots on goal but they just couldn't get the ball into the back of the net. The recently promoted side focused more on defense than attack, but they were able to open the scoreline in the 71st minute with Pozuelo heading the ball into the net. Osasuna didn't seem to have an answer yet, and Chavez decided to press high with numbers by going all out attack in the final minutes. The B-Team captain Miguel Flaño was now playing next to Davila as a striker while Vallecano defended with their lives. In the end it was Flaño who became the hero of the night, with Marcos Alonso crossing the ball into the box and finding his captain, who used his strength to fight his markers off and then head the ball into the back of the net!
Osasuna had finally found the goal they were looking for and rescued a point from the game. Rayo's goalkeeper Cobeño had one of the best games of his career, winning the MOTM award with a total of 14 saves.
CA Osasuna Player of The Month CAM - Ulises Davila (Mexico) (71 OVR 26yrs) (+1)
The season's first POTM award goes to the attacking midfielder Ulises Davila, who may not be a First Team player but has been an increasingly vital player for the B-Team and has also made important appearances as a sub for the First Team. For example in the match against Bayern Munich, Davila was brought on in the second half for Palacios to play as a CAM behind Guillermo. The team did lose and they conceited a goal when Davila was on the field, but Osasuna's attack had a different face after he was brought on. Davila has also just received his first ever call up to Mexico's senior national team and is expected to make his international debut with them in the upcoming break. Davila certainly has incredible things coming up for him this year.

Spoiler
Alex Garcia - CB (Mexico) (59-63, 80-86) (+14): The first and only CB in the academy, and with Miguel Flaño reaching the end of his era I am very anxious to see more reports on him. At 16 years old he stands at 6'2", and is considered Physically Strong. A perfect combination for a CB.
Alex Silva Gavan - RM (Spain) (63-67, 74-80) (+4): The 17 year old has decided to settle in at RM and is considered an attacker. With a 6'0" height he's a good fit pretty much anywhere on the field especially down the center, but he has decided he's most comfortable on the wing.
Chris Cropper - GK (United States) (62-66, 79-85) (+13): The third American goalkeeper to join the Youth Academy. At 17 years old he stands at 6'3" and his game is well balanced so far.
**Eñaut Gabbiadini - CDM (Spain) (60-64, 72-78) (+6): The midfielder has requested to be called up to the senior team and the coaching staff obliged. Gabbiadini comes in at 62 OVR, and is expected to be a sporadic sub for the B-Team.
Ivan Miranda - LW (Spain) (64-68, 81-87) (+6): The 16 year old has decided that the wing is where he is most comfortable with, and is a candidate for promotion in the future. He is quite short, standing at 5'9", but that isn't a problem since we will need him for speed not necessarily for his aerial ability.
Julian Rubin - GK (United States) (58-62, 73-77) (+0): Julian becomes the first player from the United States to join the Osasuna youth academy, and if he develops well enough he could even become the first ever American player to wear Osasuna's colors. The 16 year old goalkeeper could make history, but first he must show his class in the youth academy.
Mario Santana - ST (Mexico) (62-66, 83-89) (+13): Really excited to see future reports on this kid from Mexico. He's described as "Physically Strong" and you know how much I like to play with a target man. The downside is that he's only 5'3", but he's still 15 years old so I'm hoping he'll grow closer to the 6 foot range. *Santana has just turned 16 and is now eligible to play in La Liga. I'm a bit disappointed that his height only grew to 5'10 as I really wanted a target man, but he is Physically Strong so he should be a good striker nonetheless.*
*Pedro Ramirez - RB (Spain) (63-67, 82-88): Even though I use overlapping fullbacks, it wouldn't hurt to have a natural fullback in the squad since right now I'm using a RW at RB with my first team. Ramirez is currently 15 years old and stands at 5'6". Depending on how much he grows in height I might even be able to use him at CB.
*Victor Soriano - CDM (Spain) (52-60, 85-94): Really looking forward to this player. Similar qualities to the B-Team's Vinuesa Ramos, but not as tall with a 6'1" height. He may not be as sluggish thanks to his lower height though so I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do in the future.
Xabi Rodriguez - CAM (Mexico) (58-62, 75-81): He may not be the most athletic, but the 16 year old is considered a playmaker. Currently still being evaluated.

August Headline
UEFA Champions League
Osasuna are going to their first ever UEFA Champions League!! They'll want to make an impact as well rather than just settling with making an appearance, so it is believed the B-Team will have more league responsibilities this season compared to last. The Champions League is a tough competition though and they have been drawn in a tough group. Osasuna will be in the same group as one of England's best Manchester City, Italy's Napoli, and Germany's historic Borussia Mönchengladbach. Osasuna's first ever Champions League match will be against Napoli at El Sadar.
Champions League - Group H
1. Manchester City - 0 points
2. Napoli - 0 points
3. Borussia Mönchengladbach - 0 points
4. CA Osasuna - 0 points
Conclusion
Contrary to other transfer windows I've been through with Osasuna, I really enjoyed this window. I feel the teams in my league spent their money wisely and it this season will be much more competitive. Even if you look at the window's top 3 transfers you can see that the teams that let go of a big player replaced him with another big player. I was busy with departures but not so much with arrivals. I only had one more transfer target but I decided to leave him for January.
My first two games next month will be against Egypt and South Africa with Mexico. As I mentioned in the last Mexico update, I didn't call up any of our top players and instead only called up players I haven't used at all and players I have only used a little. Mexico is currently 4 1/2 stars but after my changes we went down to 4 stars. Since our opponents aren't as competitive, I will take advantage to see as many players as I can. Both lineups will be different and I'll be taking mental notes to see who deserves another call up in the future, regardless of overall.
That's all for this month! I've been playing ahead so I just need to type up the next update. Thanks For Reading!
Has anyone seen the news about La Liga. I saw today on a cnn that la Liga was suspending matches beginning May 16 because of TV deal. I was like this is something because the season is almost over. What's you guys take on this.
Side note Roma has lol but clinched the number two spot for this season. Juventus has the league won and we now won our last five matches including a convincing 3-0 win over third place Lazio. Only Palermo left to finish the season.

Indi I forgot to reply to you regarding Raul Jimenez. Personally, I don't like him lol. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact he came from Club America. Also the fact that Atletico weren't even scouting him when they signed him. Although it really made me crack up when the Atletico fans saw that his twitter was that of a Real Madrid fanboy's and they gave him hell for it. Diego Simeone's friendship with the then America manager Mohamed played a HUGE role in the transaction. So, in real life I don't like him. In the game, I don't like him either haha just kidding it's not that I don't like him it's just that I've had much better results from Erick Torres. Jimenez has it all in the game though: speed (78/79) strength (82) height (6'1") ball control (78) heading (84) volleys (78) etc. etc. He has great stats for a striker and he's 77 overall in my career, but like I said for some reason I've had much better performances from Torres who is currently 74 OVR in my career but his potential is 78 in the most recent squad update. I'm positive you'll achieve great things if you sign either of them.
Also a quick announcement gents. As you all know I've been having a lot of fun with Osasuna, but recently I've had the strong temptation to return to England for another career. Missing the Wimbledon days and plus, EA made all kinds of new features for the Premier League and I haven't even gotten to see them yet. I currently have two teams in mind, one is in the Premier League and the other is in League 1. I don't really have the time to run two careers simultaneously, so if the temptation overpowers me I may drop the Osasuna career temporarily and begin a career mode in England.

Personally I'd prefer to see Osasuna be kept going as I've really enjoyed it. I'd be happy to see an English career from you though if that is what you want to do.
You got off to a cracking start! Wonderful goals from Cresswell and Dybala although the keeper as you said maybe could have done better with Cresswells. Great to see the big Geordie getting back on the score sheet and there was nothing to be done on the OG. It looked a pretty even game judging by the stats but you just had that little bit more quality. Very nice winning streak you are on and I hope that you can continue it against St. Etienne. BTW, just a question: How big is your squad now?
