Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

The New Clough

December 2014

December 6, Hillsborough Stadium
FL Championship: Match 19

Sheffield Wednesday 0-3 Nott'm Forest

Assombalonga 45' 66' Cataldi 60'

MotM: Britt Assombalonga (NFO, 8.3)

The 4-2-3-1 we tried out today worked wonders as we controlled the game, scored three times and kept a clean sheet. Congo man Assombalonga bagged another brave before he set up Cataldi for his goal. He played the ball around the corner into the Italian's path and he smashed it past Westwood at his near post. Assombalonga's first came when he intercepted Loovens' pass across the back line and his second was a header off a Cataldi corner.

December 13, City Ground
FL Championship: Match 20

Nott'm Forest 2-0 Bournemouth

Antonio 35' 82'

MotM: Michail Antonio

We scored against the run of play as Bournemouth had several early chances that Darlow either saved or they put wide. Assombalonga set up the goal getting past Elphick before he slid the ball across to the waiting Frenchman for an easy tap in. Nothing much happened for either of the sides until Camp, under pressure, hurried a clearance and it instead rolled along the ground to Antonio on the edge of the area where he pounced sliding the ball home. The energetic winger had a great game today and he fully deserved his MOTM award.

December 20, The Valley
FL Championship: Match 21

Charlton 1-3 Nott'm Forest

Morrison 17' s/o Church 40'
Fryatt 17' (Pen) 60' Veldwijk 87'

MotM: Matty Fryatt

The majority of the side was rested due to a game against Blackburn in two days time. Among those to return was Matty Fryatt, getting his first start since coming back from injury. He repaid the favour with a brace inside the hour. The first came from the penalty spot after Cohen was axed down by Morrison with the defender getting a straight red card. The second came after a Simon Church goal five minutes before halftime. Spearing avoided two challenges while making his way into the box and he pulled it back to Fryatt who slotted the ball home first time past Henderson. The icing on the cake came from a substitute, Lars Veldwijk. Wiggins and Wilson became tangled out under pressure from Scotsman Chris Burke. This caused Wilson to sky a clearance into the box and Henderson stupidly came out to claim it but he didn't even jump. Veldwijk used his prowess in the air to beat Solly and head into an empty net. Another good three points achieved.

December 23, City Ground
FL Championship: Match 22

Nott'm Forest 1-1 Blackburn Rovers

Veldwijk 89'
Dunn 45' Williamson 61' s/o

MotM: Jake Kean (BLB, 7.2)

Blackburn started brightly and our keeper, Darlow, was forced into an early save by former Cardiff City man Rudy Gestede. Rovers stopper, Jake Kean was in a terrific vein of form making 8 saves over the course of the match. The first half was a tight affair with only Blackburn's captain David Dunn's strike separating the sides when he netted in stoppage time. Spearing failed to follow the run and Jordan Rhodes slid his teammate in to finish coolly. This came just mere minutes after MOTM Kean made a brilliant double save to deny Assombalonga. The tides turned when Williamson got himself a red card, diving in from behind in a scissors motion on Cataldi. We couldn't get through however hard we tried and Rhodes nearly made it 2-0 in the 81st minute but Darlow kept it out. As Keano went all out attack, he brought on the big man Lars Veldwijk up front. This substitution was rewarded with Veldwijk netting off a Paterson pass a minute from time. He almost snatched the win with another effort but Kean was not to be beaten a second time.

December 27, Madejski Stadium
FL Championship: Match 23

Reading 2-1 Nott'm Forest

Robson-Kanu 5' Mackie 74'
Lansbury 87'

MotM: Jamie Mackie (RDG, 7.4)

Jamie Mackie, on loan from us, was instrumental in Reading's victory today. He assisted Robson-Kanu's 5th minute goal with a cross and then scored one himself in the 74th latching onto an over the top ball before finishing past Darlow. Lansbury did hit the net for us when we changed to a 4-4-2 Diamond Wide and brought Veldwijk on. He provided the pass through to Lansbury and he made no mistake making it a nervous final three minutes for Steve Clarke and his men.

Player of the Month

Britt Assombalonga

The pacey striker netted twice this month while also setting up a further two. He earned one MOTM award was has made himself a mainstay in the lone striker role.

We stay 5th having earned 10 points, although we did move up to 4th at one stage this month. Wigan dropped from 2nd to 6th while the majority of the top 6 stays the same. The bottom 3 remains as it was a month ago with Brentford climbing above Rotherham by a point.

January Games
3/1 Bournemouth (a)
6/1 Sheffield Wednesday (h)
10/1 Sheffield Wednesday (h)
17/1 Blackburn Rovers (a)
24/1 Charlton (h)
31/1 Leeds United (a)

We want to beat Bournemouth, Chartlon and Sheffield Wed twice while also picking up at least a draw away to Leeds and Blackburn. That'll mean our aim is 11/15 points and also advancing in the cup.

Jack Hunt, RB, 69 Ovr, 24, England
His loan has expired and he has returned to Crystal Palace.

Robert Tesche, CM, 70 Ovr, 27, Germany
Robert wants to leave due to lack of game time.

I'll have to look for replacements for them. I'm also considering moving on Matty Fryatt seeing as he has decreased from 70 Ovr to 69 Ovr and is only 28 due to an injury. I'm also looking to secure a pre-contract keeper and maybe a CB for when Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascelles loans are over. (I hope that they will last the season.)

Any positions you guys think I should upgrade in January? Thanks for Reading and I hope you enjoyed it!

THE RIVALRY
SEASON 1
BORUSSIA MÖNCHENGLADBACH

July-August

Match 1

Bor. M'gladbach 0-0 VfB Stuttgart
The weren't many highlights in this match other than Xhaka having a disallowed goal and putting the ball wide with the last chance of the game.

Match 2

Freiburg 1-1 Bor. M'gladbach
Petersen 17
Kruse 74

Petersen opened the scoring for a dominant Freiburg with an incredible curling effort from outside the box into the top corner. They continued to dominate and Frantz forced a wonderful save from Sommer. We finally had a chance on the hour mark, Kramer heading over when in open space from a free kick. We equalised when Gabbiadini got in behind and put a dinked ball across for Kruse to volley in calmly.

Transfers IN:

Danilo: €11 million + Julian Korb from FC Porto
Inigo Martinez: €12 million from Real Sociedad
Manolo Gabbiadini: €5 million from Napoli

Transfers OUT:

Martin Stranzl: €2.9 million to Parma

So are we all ready to go onto the next month? How should we do this, just post and then wait for the others, and that'll go on until January? Or should we keep an order?

EDIT: Also, like the Gabbiadini transfer. If you didn't go for him, I was going to try in the winter. Hope he flops lol. Also, Cruzerr, I like the Dybala transfer. Again, hope he flops.

Just keep the order, you post next, then I post, then Jamie does. We do this until January, to see if the table is different by then, so we can sort out who gets priority.

Alright, my post will be going up shortly then. Also, for the priority as of January, I think we should have it as a decision. So whoever is in first gets to decide if he wants to post second or third, or even choose to pick second or third, this way if you are wanting the other teams to sell players, you can wait for them to do so. Also, if you want to see where somebody else would post, you can go second or even third to see what they do. The 2nd team would then have the second selection, picking from the remaining options, and then the third team. Just a thought.

I get your point, but getting priority means that you post first aswell, since others need to see who you transfer first, if you get my idea.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

The Rivalry - Season 1 - September

FSV Mainz 0 - 4 BVB
Hazard(BVB)21'(PEN)
Aubameyang(BVB) 45'
Aubameyang(BVB) 90'
Reus(BVB) 90'

Notes: From the outside, looks like a thrashing, but really isn't. This was a close, contested game where Leno really came through. Also, I have just realized I forgot to include in my first posts that I have gotten Leno, it was a deal for €7,000,000 as well as Weidenfeller. I hope I don't make this mistake again, as it could be pretty bad. Anyways, the last goal from Reus was actually open-net, after they brought their keeper up for a corner.

BVB 2 - 0 VFB Stuttgart
Aubameyang(BVB) 45'
Alaba(BVB) 85'

Notes: Another good game and a clean sheet, Alaba was played at midfielder, which he could see a lot, when I don't want to play Kagawa at CM, because after getting rid of Gundogan, I failed to sign a proper CM replacement.

Marco Reus out for 3 weeks with a Sprained Knee

FC Schalke 2 - 2 BVB
Hazard(BVB) 5'
Draxler (FCS) 60'
Aubameyang (BVB) 78'
Nastasic (FCS) 90'

Notes: Disappointing. Out of all the games so far this season, this is definitely the one I wanted to win the most. I would've rather lost in the other 2 games this month, and picked up a win in this game, even though it would not make sense point wise, that's how much it meant. Personally, I think I played the best I have all season. The Draxler goal was my only mistake. Nastasic's goal was amazing. It was a shot from outside the box on the left side of the net, where he hit it with his left foot, and it ended up in the top right corner, leaving Leno no chance. Schalke really played well, and if one thing goes differently, they win.

The table ends the month as:

Team: | Position | Played | W | D | L |GD | PTS |
Bor. Dortmund | 1 | 6 | 5 | 1 | 0 | 12 | 16 |
Bor. M'gladbach | 2 | 6 | 4 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 13 |
Eint. Frankfurt | 3 | 6| 4 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 13 |
Hamburger SV| 4 | 6| 4 | 1 | 1 | 3 | 13 |
Bayer Leverkusen | 5 | 6 | 4 | 0| 2 | 6 | 12 |
FC Schalke | 6 | 6 | 3 | 3 | 0 | 4 | 12 |
FC Bayern | 7 | 6 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 5 | 11|
VfL Wolfsburg | 8 | 6 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 3 | 11|

This is the table, didn't realize how much of a mess I've made it into lmao. If any of you have found websites that allow you to efficiently create tables I'd love to see them. Otherwise, hopefully I can find something out lol.

Thanks For Reading!!!

Right, but what I am saying is they would have the option of not playing until the others post, and act like they are essentially second or third. This could come in handy if they want one of the rivals players and they want to see if they sell them, because if they can't wait and see, they would have to wait until the next window. Again, it is just a thought, and is optional.

EDIT: Also, I have just realized I have not yet sent out a congratulations to sportsfreak on being cancer free! It's a great thing to hear, congrats!
