Re: Savoie Style: NHL 13

I toned down goalie screen effect to 3 - thinking about toning down the speed to 2. Along with the other changes I noted in this thread. These are Savoie's, so I don't want to hijack his thread, but I've made some minor changes from his base set, which are THE best I've tried here (even better than my Pro level set).

Re: Savoie Style: NHL 13

Any looks at the new tuner that increases penalties? I just got the game and am trying to find "the" slider set. Thanks!

Re: Savoie Style: NHL 13

Leave game speed at 3 - acceleration at 1. At 2, the game feels like it's being played in quicksand...

Still not sure about some things... go through stretches where I cannot score a damn thing and the cpu seems to just put them up on me at will...

Yeah you would have to up the acceleration as well. I've been messing with the hitting power. At four draws more penalties and the numbers seem to closer match the NHL. I'm also working with the pass accuracy slider and stick lift slider. I'll keep you guys posted if I decide on any changes. Oh and the goalie screen slider can definately be no higher than 4 or the goalies seem blind.

Re: Savoie Style: NHL 13

Just played a game with these and .. wow.. very fun! I may make the speed/accel adjustment but out of the gate these sliders were much more fun & realistic than the default settings.. default are just ridiculous! First game I lost 2-3 with 1:32 left and last minute I had a barrage of shots .. just like in a real game.. forgot to pull the goalie

Thanks again!

Re: Savoie Style: NHL 13

This is a personal preference, but based on what Redshirt said

Quote:
As a general rule the sliders don't nullify the attribute effects except the Attribute Effect slider (or whatever it is called these days). At zero that one makes everyone the same. At the high end it also makes high attributes get maxed out, so it will squash up the top end players (e.g. 95 will be similar to a 99) while spreading out worse players. The default is set one notch from the top (as on NHL13), so attributes are exaggerated a bit. Dropping it a notch or two below the default will give a more full spread in effective attribute values, when it is in the middle the numbers aren't warped at all.
I'm moving the attribute slider to either 4 or 3
