Gary Thorne and Bill Clement again for NHL 13?

Next year i am hoping for mike emerick.

However as long as the commentary has new lines added and is not all just re-cycled from previous years ill be happy for now.

I just hope they have added more player interaction/team audio like talking about playoff runs star players on teams etc etc.

I swear to god if i hear the same 'when you think of the devils you think of one man...martin brodeur'.....i will scream!

I'd say MLB 2K is still better overall than the NHL series, but that is Gary Thorne, too. He is one of the very, very few real broadcasters that don't sound horrible when they record for games. And the MLB2K commentary is nearly as good the NBA2K game.

I suspect the direction he's had at 2K benefits the NHL game. 2K has had excellent commentary since NFL2K. I think part of what helps is that it seems like a portion is recorded with both guys present at the same time. Everything else sounds stilted because it is just lines.

We definitely need Rick Jeanneret in here to spice things up. And, as a Leafs fan, I am obligated to say we need some more "HOLY MACKINAW"s so get Joe Bowen in here as well. Bob Cole would be nice too. But, since it doesn't matter, I suppose we'll have to deal with it. Although I must say, I never really noticed the repetition of lines, Madden 12's was always much worse for me.

After Cole and Neale's abysmal job in 2k's game a few years back, senile Bob Cole is the last person who should be doing pbp for a video game.

I would love to see Doc, Eddie and Pierre. I don't understand why people don't like this trio. Doc provides some of the most insane commentary that makes me not want to look away from the game.

"OOOoooHHhhhh hit the post with the shot!"

But also his relaxed, normal voice "Passed to Crosby and can be played along to the safety of center," and "the puck goes bouncing like a jumping bean" line he usually says once a game. He just has so much emotion and it makes every game that much more entertaining.

Eddie does pbp for the Blackhawks so it's hard for him to not sway their way when they get brought up, but other than that he provides insight and always goes back to a scoring play and highlights how it happened (which would be another great feature if this trio is ever added).

And Pierre? Meh, I don't mind him, huh Eddie?

I've never played any 2k hockey games, so I had no idea they apparently failed at it, I still think Rick or even Mike Lange would be a nice addition
