But when doing the 32 team expansion draft, why is it done without the roster update? Svechnikov isn't available to draft in 2018.

Hey there!
Short answer is, It should be the up-to-date roster.... before starting a franchise season just go into Rosters on the main start menu and double check you have selected (&downloaded) the latest roster update as the default.

I know I've been caught out like that before in previous titles

Otherwise the other answer is that he's not in the game.... apparently there are a few prospects missing. I remember Dylan Larkin was some time back.

If you choose 32 team expansion draft, it uses the default release rosters. There is no way that I know of to have it use the latest roster update. That's why the Blues still have Reaves and Lehtera.

How were you able to get the goalie to have a matching facemask?

Every team I've created the goalie always wears a silver and black helmet wit the "Aces" logo on it.

I even tried customizing the AHL team to have the same logo as my NHL team and that didn't work either.

i think you have to go edit each goalie and select the team mask.

2017-2018 Seattle Wizards season update #2


Record: 13-9-1- 27pts 5th place, Pacific; currently holding second wild card.
Goals: 11, Martin Hanzal
Assists: 17, Andre Burakovsky

Wins: 10, Philipp Grubauer (.911%)

Injuries: Defenseman Zach Bogosian missed 4 games with a concussion, and C Ryan Dzingel has also missed 4 games this season with injury.

Biggest disappointment so far has definitely been RW Patrick Eaves who only has 3 goals in 22 games played. His 10 assists I suppose help counter that, however being on my #1 line I'd like to see more goal scoring by him.

Also LW Nikolay Kulemin who is on my 3rd line. I placed him on the trade block. 0 goals 6 assists and a -5 through 23 games played. For now I will try to send him down, hopefully clear waivers and bring up LW Jaskin (11 goals 8 assists in AHL). Paying Kulemin $4.1mil is just rough and I'd like to trade him.

I’m relatively new to the 32 team expansion franchise as I’ve always played a franchise with my LA Kings. But I have to say I’ve quite a lot of fun creating the expansion team, the expansion draft and the entry draft so far. I’ve brought the Quebec Nordiques back into the league and my AHL franchise is called the Quebec City Chat Sauvage, which means wildcat in French. I wanted to keep the French Canadian theme I’ll post some photos of my jerseys and lineups later today. It’s been a lot of fun reading everyone else’s posts about their created teams franchise. This mode has really opened up this years game to me and I’m having a blast!!

After starting 7-2-1 in their first 10 games, the Seattle Wizards went 4-6-0 the following 10. Giving up a lot more goals than we did early on in the season.

Matchup preview against the St. Louis Blues, who are currently 2nd in the Central division with a 15-8 record.

The Blues will be without D Carl Gunnarson who is out with a bruised hand. Seattle enters the game at full strength.

We are riding a two game win streak after beating Detroit 6-3, and shutting out New Jersey at home 4-0. A good matchup in the Eastern Conference in late November!
