Game 7 was played and I forgot to post. Lehner stood on his head making a few great saves as well did Price for Montreal.

We win the game 2-0 on the road and advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals!

To summarize the first round of the playoffs here is a pic of the updated playoff tree for what is in my franchise, the 2019 NHL playoffs.

We will be taking on the Penguins! Defending champion Sharks were eliminated while the reigning Eastern Conference champion Rangers advanced and will play the Lightning.1526747344341.jpg

Game one of the Semifinals vs Pittsburgh where we have home ice advantage this round!

Game starts off with a quick hooking penalty on Reinhart just 30sec into the game. Then Ristolainen with a tripping penalty created a 5 on 3 advantage for the Penguins for 20 seconds.

Regardless, we held them off and things settled down. Until around the 9min mark Wilson gets a high sticking penalty lol.

We kill that penalty off, and Wilson comes out of the box immediately on a 2 on 1 break with Jokinen. I hit a nice pass and Wilson knocks it past Murray for a 1-0 lead!

With 4.9sec remaining in the 1st period Sheary pounces on a kick saved rebound to tie the game 1-1. So after the 1st period it's all tied 1-1.

Then at the 18:12 mark Kessel gives Pittsburgh the lead on another rebound shot by Hornqvist! Penguins at this point out shooting Buffalo 18-6 and completely dominating this game.

At the 9:55 mark Pittsburgh adds another goal this time by Hagelin. Confidence is dropping and my team really needs something to happen or this one could get out of hand.

Eichel makes it 3-2 at the 7:31 mark with a slap shot for his second goal of the playoffs! Crowd is back into it and just need to keep fighting.

2nd period ends with the Penguins up 3-2. They have 24 shots on goal to my 13.

Pittsburgh finally scores on a power play with a goal by Dumoulin early on in the 3rd to make it 4-2 with 15min remaining. 2min later Spong makes it 5-2. Lehner not looking good now as some fans begin to leave.

They tack on one more by Crosby and take game 1 with tge final score of 6-2. They out shot me 36-22!

Game two is hopefully much different cause we got our butts kicked here in game one. Seems like we have played better on the road these playoffs lol.

I know pittsburge is really smart and tricky and advanced and fast and sneaky; every team I put up against them as failed so far; when I first met them in NHL 16; they we're really fast and quick transition team; but they had weakness if I had big players and small players mixed into my line up and brutal injury checks; this year I have no answer for them; I tried huge players and small players and we still get beaten to pulp; but I have beaten them few times just few times; trick with them is to get them into shootout or overtime and tie the game.


you're not gonna hardly beat them in regulation at all; I have tried to raise accuracy's a bit to beat them; I know noticed that a few times; with sorten teams; some teams are fast and comeback teams; I suggest with team with pittsburge you have to have grudge match of scoring fest of 7-12 goals with pittsburge or run up the score.


other wise you're gonna loose; don't go easy on them; always play to injure with pittsburge or scoring match and run up score with them.


another tip 1: try to pin them against the boards much as possible
tip 2: if playing 20 Minutes against a really good team and you're leading 5-3 in third period at the 12 or 5 min mark; dump it into the AI CPU's zone to eat time off the clock works great against (pittsburge and stuff)
tip 3: be prepared for the momentum shifts you'll notice it; through out the game; AI CPU will become unstoppable during this; just weather the storm and break up plays and kill penalties
tip 4: try to score as much as possible on those 2 on 1's pass to the guy in slot for goal.

Game 2 is underway! Goal this game is to stay out of the penalty box!

I scored a goal by Reinhart, his first of the playoffs 54 seconds into the game. Definitely good to start fast.

However with 13min left Guentzel scores to tie it at 1. Lehner has had a lot of trouble controlling rebound shots.

End of the first period ends tied 1-1. SOG are 8-7 Pittsburgh. No power plays yet!

2nd period:

Rookie Alexander Nylander scores a power play goal at 17:09 mark to give us the lead 2-1! Our first power play of the series believeit or not, as somehow Pittsburgh managed to not committ a penalty in game 1.

Second period ends at that score of 2-1. Lehner has come bacm after a bad game 1 and made a few very good saves. SOG are now 13-12 Buffalo. Jokinen with a boarding penalty of Crosby at the very end of the period so Pittsburgh will have their first power play of the game. Onto the 3rd period!

I kill off the penalty, however shortly after they tie it up at two with a deflection goal by Sheary. Bummer!

Around the 16min mark I make a horrible mistake by getting a game misconduct penalty on Kane Pittsburgh with a loooong 5min power play now. Which of course they score on by Letang to make it 3-2. And then again by Kessel to make it 4-2. What a huge mistake now by Evander Kane! Luckily that is all they score during the power play.

However I could never get anything else past Murray andwe lose to that final score of 4-2. SOG ended up 27-26 Penguins so close. It was that 5min major power play that did it though. So mad at myself for hitting someone like that lol. It felt awesome to be physical but I paid the price dearly.

We are now down 0-2 headed to Pittsburgh for games 3 and 4. Definitely the goal is to again get shots on goal and NO PENALTIES! We did great with that until the 3rd period. Gonna be a battle to come back from 0-2 but I think we can beat these guys if we are disciplined.

And now worse news erupts now seeing Kane is out for the remainder of the series with a broken nose. So this means Moulson will step into the 2nd line, and LW Johan Larsson will have to dress and play in my 4th line for the rest of the series.

And the hits just keep on coming...lol

The dreaded 3rd period 5 minute game misconduct penalty.... It has cost me a game or 3 in the past.
Good luck in games 3 & 4. Get that series square again. LET'S GO SABRES!
