The replays have always bugged me the most with lack of interaction. The fighter is straight out cold, no hands blocking. 3 accurate, vicious slow motion hits straight to the cranium of a completly unconscious opponent looks absolutly disgusting. The ref would cut in the moment the fighter hits the canvas out cold, and definetly after first hit lands. Imagine Hendo getting 2 more hammerfists in on Bispin in their first fight.

So either they should cut out the 2 extra hits (which would make it pretty much like a walk off KO)
OOOR make the sequence longer, but with an animation of a fighter actually curled up, blocking the strikes, but not intelligently, looking at the ref for help.

That would feel pretty satisfying, and not so brutal.
But brutal hits to completely unconscious fighters happens fairly frequently (recent example is Overeem v Ngannou) in the UFC. I don't want a sugar-coated representation of the sport in the game. That type of mentality could bite us all in the *** down the line in the series (no blood smears on the canvas, animations purposely made to look "less brutal", even more animated KOs that never look like "out cold" ragdolls, ect.)

I'm not asking for the option to beat a KOed fighter's head in for 2 minutes, I'm asking for a realistic representation. And a few follow up shots to even a ragdolled "out cold" fighter is absolutely realistic.

Damn i completely missed that from the patch notes, the developers really went above and beyond to please everyone in this patch. Does anyone have a video link to when this ref standup occurs, it would be cool to see it

Also someone correct me if I'm wrong as i never actually previously have seen it live in game, but I'm under the assumption that this feature was always in the game but your opponent had to be doing nothing for a ridiculously long period of time. Now i guess its been tuned to actually occur more frequently based on the patch note which is really good news.

My favorite feature by far though is the new ref interactions. They look great, and add much needed authenticity to the end of fights. So here I am, asking that it has an even bigger presence in the game.

It is true that GDP said Finish the Fight sequences are more frequent, and walk-off KOs are fewer. I have no doubt this is the truth, however, I'm not sure if its my playstyle or if it is because I'm playing against the AI, but walk off KOs still occur more than Finish the Fight in my experience so far.

So this is my request: Please add these new ref interaction finish the fight sequences to ALL KOs.

Shocking right? We all know this has been requested before, but here is what has changed:

-Added Referee break interactions during Finish the Fight
-Reduced number of strikes before Referee steps in during Finish the Fight

These were big reasons why the crew decided to do away with Finish the Fight after KOs. Now that conditions are better surrounding this area of the game, I am requesting Finish the Fight gets added back to being an option after KOs.

Like I said before, the animations look great and add realism to the end of fights, I'd love to see them more in the game. You could still allow walk-off KOs by having the "walk-off celebration" animations trigger after a few seconds after a KO, if the player doesn't attempt to follow his opponent.

Sorry if it seems like I'm being ungrateful asking for more, on the day of the patch, because I really am appreciative of the patch. In fact, I want something introduced in the patch to be in the game more, thats how much I love the patch. Thanks again, and tell me what you think guys.
I have not played the game and won't be able to play it for a while, can anyone post videos on the new ref interactions?

Thanks!

that is from GPD new videos. You can actually see the ref the entire time and then he steps in to stop it... Pretty awesome

Good stuff. I'm all for everything mentioned in this thread.

If we just could get rid of too many animated and repetitive KOs and add follow up punches that'd be great... cause the ragdoll looks good. (A little tuning wouldn't hurt though)

And that happened with hendo vs bisping too. very similar endings. Both fighters got ONE! clean hit on an unconsious fighter before the ref junped in. Now imagine if Francis punched unconsious overeem like that 2 more times?

But I'm not advocating cutting down the amount of strikes on a KD opponent. I'm advocating a better animation of a semi concious fighter curling up, defending. that happens more frequent. more realistic.
