Re: Questions about UFC 5?

The way I would conceptualize it is to make a better stat system and mainly use that - and a factor of randomization - to determine the ground game. But I'm sure that would alienate a lot of 'skilled' players who hate RNG. But that is what you need to get casual players to hang. Also, that is a big source of frustration for online players. So I doubt they are excited to try this system.

It kinda works like that now, but skilled players will be able to stop you from dominating them on the ground. And the stats are all so close that there's no real specialists imo.

Re: Questions about UFC 5?

I’m a casual MMA fan all I want is the career mode to be similar to NBA 2K or Undisputed 2010. I want my fighter to have a voice and to be able to answer press conference questions and post fight interviews with dialogue options as well as hyping up fights at a press conference or starting a fight at the weigh ins. Trash talk is a part of the UFC that’s missing EA has money and deep pockets it’s not hard to hire 4-5 guys and have them record a couple lines.

Exactly. It's not hard to program, especially since they seemed to have made ALL the necessary assets. Everything was there: the conference room, the casual outfits for the character models,... All you need is a screen with a couple of options which will have a minor impact on the game itself. It's all immersion. They could've tied it to the rival "system".

Without this it's just fight after fight and I'm left wondering why I'm not just stringing together fights in "fight now". I guess because stats are improving and eventually you turn into a superfighter. The mode is OK but it could improve so much more.

I think it’s just an EA thing none of their other games do this either and if they do it’s text based which sucks.

Having voiced fighters and dialogue options is something missing and EA better get with the times.

Re: Questions about UFC 5?

Yeah, I guess. PES2k20 had pressers too without dialogue and no real consequence and it was bland and boring, but that's partly because it was you - the manager - talking. So none of your stars were even pictured. Here it will be the faceoff and weigh-in, which is a lot more immersive. Whether or not it has sound doesn't matter to me personally, but you make a valid point: EA probably wants their games to look professional, and the lack of voiceovers will make it look amateurish to some.

The info about the new game I'm truly craving for is whether or not PC will be included. I highly doubt it, but if it gets confirmed I can kick my Xbox out as I barely play it at all if not for EA UFC. So as I haven't touched the game in a while it just sits on the shelf.

There's a lot in the career mode that's lacking for me. With the money we earn we should use it to invest in our fighter's gym and sparring partners. After getting better and just killing these guys everytime I'm training we should be able to afford better sparring partners and equipment.

Re: Questions about UFC 5?

I hope they try that for the next game. EAUFC3 had the camps included, even with their own dojo's, which was great. On the other hand, it had the stupid "goals" where EAUFC4 has the actual sparring sessions. They should combine the best of both games.

Apart from the first UFC game 20+ years ago, which just had tournament mode and title defense mode, we've always just made our CaF and went on the road to the title. That's how it'll always be, I guess, but why not give you control over the team and select the fighters you want to control. If people want just one it will play like usual. However, this requires a "universe" that makes and simulates events. EAUFC2 had that in a very reduced form, but they somehow scrapped that. Not sure why.

Re: Questions about UFC 5?

Any news on licenses of bellator or one championship. 1 license of one league is pitiful for a sport fighting game. Imagine fifa only having mls 😂. Complete disconnect from fans and MMA as a sport.

One of the reason I never picked up this trash.

UFC 3 undisputed was and still the best MMA game.
