Forgot about Loso, man. Around Thanksgiving, as of now. Budden too.

EDIT: As far as rap group albums go...

Not in order.

The Lox - We are the Streets
Mobb Deep - The Infamous
Wu-tang - Enter the Wu-Tang
OUtkast - Stankonia

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Aside from my #1, everything else is subject to change, but here's my list...

1. Wu-Tang Clan
2. The Roots
3. Mobb Deep
4. Black Star
5. Kidz In The Hall
6. A Tribe Called Quest
7. The LOX (D-Block)
8. The Fugees
9. OutKast
10. Dipset
11. Public Enemy
12. The Firm
13. De La Soul
14. D12
15. The Clipse
16. Bone Thugs N Harmony
17. NWA
18. EPMD
19. State Property
20. G-Unit

I don’t count “groups” like Gang Starr, Eric B. and Rakim, Reflection Eternal, etc. (an emcee and a DJ).

If CRS (Kanye, Lupe, Pharrell) ever drops an album they will instantly be my #2.

Both of the albums are average at best but for me Paper Trail had the most songs I could listen to without wanting to just turn my iPod off.

Even though I can appreciate them now, I still don't put her on MC Lyte's level as an MC. As for Lyte I was a fan ever since Lyte as a Rock and up until 93' when Bo$$ debuted Born Gangstaz, I thought she was the tightest female MC. There's no question though in my mind she's still top 3 or 4. In fact, I'd have to put her over Boss at least just because of her body of work, Boss only came out with the one album and an overlooked mixtape, even though I thought that one official release was a classic.

On another note, I was listening to my old Leaders of the New School today and it's crazy just how much I use to listen to that as a high school freshman. Still remembered the lyrics to a lot of the tracks. Anyway, I was wondering, why is it that Busta Rhymes is so often overlooked in discussions of all time greatest rappers? I very rarely, if ever, hear anyone mention him in those talks. Is it because of the content (lots of party type tracks, fun stuff)? It can't be his ability.
That's a good question. IMO, I could see someone making a case for being one of the all time greats BUT at the same time, I can see someone making a stronger case for him NOT being one of the all time greats.

It's good for discussion, so hey let's ask everybody else.

He's definitely not in my top 10.

1. Nas
2. Lupe Fiasco
3. Royce Da 5;9"
4. Notorious B.I.G.
5. Jay-Z
6. Ghostface Killah
7. Eminem
8. Rakim
9. Joe Budden
10. AZ

I'd also put Common, Jadakiss, The Game, Black Thought, Talib, and Ande 3000 over him off the top of my head.
