I really can't believe they "ran out of time" with this one. Good god man, this is basic! Madden had this in 2003. I loved ESPN last year, but I knew I couldn't play a game unless I had a free and clear 2 hours to finish. Thus, I only made it midway through my second season. I, like many here, work 40 hours a week, so this just might be a game killer for me, and (I never thought I'd say it), that goes for NCAA as well. Too bad.
Never once have i played a game of ESPN NFL where it took me 2 hours to finish 1 game. Like you mention, we all work full time jobs, have wives, etc. However, if gaming is your hobby and stress reliever, don't you make or find the time to do things that you enjoy? Maybe i'm weird but i don't spend every free minute I have catering to my wife (that doesn't sound right but i think those mature enough know what I mean). I like to have "me time" even if it's just for an hour.
The full-time job, wife, kids are not really an excuse anymore. It can be done. If I can play one game per day of my football franchises, that's fine. That takes roughly 1 hour per day each evening after work or an hour before going to bed. This is hardly a game killer. I think some people feel guilty about sitting back and playing video games for a couple hours. Not me.
FYI, at least ESPN does have a "Sim to End" feature.
