Re: Big D: A Dallas Cowboys Dynasty (Madden 10)
Week 13- Marion Barber thrashes the Giants defense for 200+ total yards to help the Cowboys win a blowout
DAL NYG 0 0 0 7 7 The Cowboys wanted to ensure they minimized their chances of making mistakes today, which is why Barber and Felix Jones both played an integral part in the offense. The Cowboys would dominated the first half taking a 24-0 lead into halftime. The first half scores would include a 45 and a 9 yard touchdown pass to Felix Jones, a 1 yard touchdown run by Jones, and a 54 yard field goal from the foot of Nick Folk. The Cowboys would utilize clock management in the second half, handing off to Barber and Jones for the majority of the rest of the game. Tony Romo would hit Miles Austin for a 10 yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter. Marion Barber would add on a 27 yard touchdown rush as well. The Giants would only muster up a 7 yard touchdown pass from Jeff Garcia to Bradshaw for their only score of the day. The Cowboys would win this game 38-7. This was a huge game for Dallas as they now keep pace with New Orleans for the top spot in the NFC. Depending on the result of their game today, the Cowboys will remain one game back or move into a tie. Next week, the San Diego Chargers will travel to Dallas looking to remain on top in the AFC West, which is turning into a very tight race. Re: Big D: A Dallas Cowboys Dynasty (Madden 10)
Week 14- Ware shows up in the sack column for the first time this season as Cowboys defeat Chargers
SD DAL 7 14 10 3 34 As for the rest of the game, it was a rather quiet game for both sides. The Cowboys would kick off the scoring with an Alan Ball interception return for a touchdown mid way through the first quarter. Tony Romo would add a couple touchdown passes, one to Witten and one to Jones, giving Dallas a 21-0 advantage early. Philip Rivers would be able to find Vincent Jackson in the endzone before the first half expired. The score at the half would be 21-7 Dallas. The third quarter would see a trio of field goals. Nick Folk would hit a 44 yard field goal to increase the Cowboys lead, 24-7. Kaeding would add a 52 yard and 43 yard field goal for the Chargers. Romo would be able to find Miles Austin in the endzone late in the quarter. At the end of three, Dallas would lead comfortably, 31-13. In the fourth, Folk would tack on another field goal to give Dallas a 34-13 advantage. San Diego would be able to put up a touchdown from Michael Bennett to make the game appear closer than it really was. Cowboys would win this one easily, 34-20. Looking to next week, the Cowboys will travel to New Orleans in a tough matchup with potential top seed in the NFC implications. The Saints loss this week puts them one game behind Dallas and San Francisco in the NFC. Also, the Cowboys currently hold a three game lead in the division, so a win against the Saints would clinch the division. More importantly, the Cowboys could put 2 games between themselves and the Saints with 2 games left, therefore bettering the chances of having a first round bye. So saying this game is crucial is an understatement. Re: Big D: A Dallas Cowboys Dynasty (Madden 10)
Week 15- Dallas defense falters late as the Saints ride Brees's arm and Henderson's hands to victory
NO 7 7 0 21 35 This was a tight game throughout until late. Brees would find Henderson for an early first quarter touchdown to put the Saints up 7-0. Tony Romo would answer however, finding Witten to even the score at the end of the first quarter. Dallas would come out firing very early in the second quarter as Romo would hit Jones for a 28 yard touchdown and a Dallas lead (14-7). Not to be outdone, Brees would hook up with Evans on a goal line touchdown pass to even the score again, 14-14. The third quarter was a back and forth struggle until Orlando Scandrick would intercept Brees and return it 89 yards for the go-ahead score, 21-14 Dallas. Brees would also throw two interceptions in the end zone on the day. Dallas felt comfortable heading to the fourth quarter with a 7 point lead. But that quickly dissipated as New Orleans would catch fire. Brees would hit Henderson on two touchdown passes in the quarter. The Saints would also add a Pierre Thomas rushing touchdown late in the game to ice it. New Orleans would go on to win this one, 35-21. With just two games remaining in the regular season for the Cowboys, they will travel to Washington to take on the second place team in the NFC East. A victory will secure a division title, but a loss will give them a one game lead heading into the last week of the season. The Cowboys would prefer to secure the division sooner rather than later. Stay tuned as this upcoming game is a big one. Cowboys/Saints Offense 244/484 Rushing 58/85 Passing 186/399 Turnovers 3/3 Romo 15/24, 203 yards, 2TD, 3INT Barber 20 carries, 41 yards, 5 catches, 81 yards Witten and Jones each with receiving TD Spencer 6 tackles, 2 sacks Spears 2 sacks Jenkins and Newman 1 INT each Scandrick INT return for TD Saints Brees 32/45, 426 yards, 4TD, 3INT Thomas 19 carries, 84 yards, TD Henderson 9 catches, 119 yards, 3TD Evans 1 rec. Re: Big D: A Dallas Cowboys Dynasty (Madden 10)
Week 16- Cowboys have a nightmare game against division rival Redskins
WAS 7 14 10 17 48 Washington kicked off the scoring with a Clinton Portis 21 yard touchdown run to go ahead 7-0 early. Dallas would answer with a Marion Barber touchdown catch from Romo to even the score at 7. The second quarter would see a continued close battle. Campbell began the game completing his first 21 pass attempts, falling just one short of tying the NFL record. He would find Randle El early in the second quarter for the score and lead. Dallas answered however, with Felix Jones busting a big play for a touchdown to tie it up at 14. The Redskins would drive back down the field and hand off to Betts for the touchdown. Right before the half, Nick Folk would add a field goal to move Dallas within 4 at the half. The score 21-17 Washington. Dallas would not have an answer from there on. Clinton Portis scored on a 4 yard rush mid way through the third quarter to increase the Redskin lead to 28-17. Suisham would add a field goal late in the third to make it 31-17. Washington broke it open in the fourth. Betts would add a goal line touchdown to make it 38-17. Romo, who was way off the entire game, threw a costly interception that was returned for a touchdown by London Fletcher (who had 3 INT on the day). Allen Rossum would return the following kickoff for a touchdown to make it 45-24 Redskins. Suisham would add one more field goal very late in the fourth quarter. Washington would win this game 48-24. Dallas has clinched a playoff spot after this game, but are now tied with San Francisco for the number 2 spot in the NFC. So it will come down to the last game of the season to determine whether Dallas will get a first round bye, as well as win the division. Their task this week will be the Eagles, who come to Dallas in a week 17 matchup against division rivals. So if the Cowboys show up and win they will clinch the division and have to hope the 49ers lose to obtain the first round bye. It should be interesting! Re: Big D: A Dallas Cowboys Dynasty (Madden 10)
I really like that you are updating the around the league stuff at the end of your team updates. I think I am going to try to incorporate that into my franchise blog at the start of the next season. Good idea.
