Send The Troops Home!
Duke dominants Army in a 35-6 blowout.

RB Desmond Scott runs hard to the endzone for 6.
Durham, NC -- Todays game showcased absolute domination by the Duke Blue Devils as they hosted the Army Black Knights in Wallace Wade Stadium. Duke was the favorite and didnt let the critics down as they pummeled Army to a 35-6 tune.
Right from the kickoff Duke showed they were the superior team, as they forced Army into a quick three and out and only gaining 2 yards on the drive. Then Duke would be quick to score as Desmond Scott would scamper into the endzone from 15 yards out. Duke would continue to dominate defensively as they scored 35 unanswerd points. Untill late in the 4th quater, the Black Knights finally caught a break as the QB Tren Steelman hit his TE in the endzone for a touchdown. However their kicker would proceed to miss the PAT giving them a 35-6 defecit. It proved to be to large a defecit as they would not comeback nor score again for the rest of the game.

Coach Cutcliffe had this to say about today's game said " Today was one of those days where you play for execution and perfection, not stats and numbers. I wanted us to do every play perfect and no bonehead mistakes. Really this was like an extra practice for tougher oppenents. Not intended to disrespect Army. I loved that they played thier hearts out and they serve our country at the same time. But we have a much tougher oppenent next week and we have got to get at it this week in practice."

Following the win Duke climbs to 3-1 on the season and still 1-0 in Acc play. Their next game will be on the road as they travel to play the Maryland Terrapins in an ACC conference game.

I had that happen when I was playing Georgia Tech one time, although it didn't happen in the end zone. Josh Nesbitt had open field ahead of him, but instead he started stumbling and fell for a short gain!

Re: Rebirth of the "Iron Dukes" a Duke Blue Devils Dynasty (ncaa 11)

Duke Stuns College Park
Duke knocks off rival Maryland on their home field

WR Kelly Adams breaks away from the defense for the game winning touchdown.

Durham, NC -- This game was one that gave both Duke and maryland fans a thrill! It was a great shootout coming down to the very last play!
Early on Duke was plagued with turnovers as starting QB Sean Renfree was throwing interception after interception. With a tie game at half time, coach Cutcliffe made the decision to yank him and put in backup QB Sean Schroder. It would look like a good choice as Schroder would hook up with Reciever Donovan Varner on a 12 yard strike for the lead! Duke would add another touchdown via Varner to increase thier lead to a 2 possesion lead. However Maryland would not go down quiet, led by their senior RB Da'rel Scott, they fought thier way back to tie the game late in the 4th quarter. After J.Hollingsworth pounded the ball in from 2 yards out duke thought they had the game won. But Maryland QB Jamarr Robinson thought other wise as he threw a bomb to WR LaQuan Williams and took it in from 90 yards out. Duke would retain possesion with 45 seconds left. A couple plays later and Duke WR Adam Kelly is running free with the down the sideline and puts Duke on top. Maryland would get the ball back 16 seconds left but QB Jamarr Robinson's late game heroics were to no avial as he found himself being sacked in endzone for a saftey. Game over duke wins 44-35!
Coach Cutcliffe had only this to say " Amazing, absolutly amazing the things you can do when you believe, have heart, and play as a team with trust in one another."
