Wow, crazy game! I think I'm going to enjoy this dynasty a lot, keep it up!
Thanks!

Thanks. I had to replace somebody and since UConn never seems to be any good in the game due to poor recruiting grounds, I figured they would be the best to replace.
Though the Villanova Wildcats (1-1, 0-0 Big East) left Happy Valley with a 35-10 loss against the 18th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions (2-0, 0-0 Big 10), they can take pride in their performance, which proved to be more competitive than most prognosticators thought.
Thanks to two short fields set up in the first quarter by a Penn State turnover on downs and a fumble, the Wildcats jumped out to a 10-0 first quarter lead over the Nittany Lions, shocking the home crowd which had expected a blowout over Villanova. The Wildcats would hold onto their lead for the remainder of the first half as Penn State only managed a single score in the first half, trailing 10-7 at halftime.
Unfortunately for Villanova, Evan Royster and the Penn State offense would not be denied in the second half as they would roll up 21 third quarter points to turn the game into a blowout in the final half of play. Evan Royster mauled the Villanova defense to the tune of 184 rushing yards and a trio of touchdowns as Penn State blanked Villanova 28-0 in the third and fourth quarters.
Ultimately, Penn State would outscore Villanova 35-0 after the Wildcats took the early 10-0 lead, but it is still a moral victory for a Villanova team which needs all the small victories it can get this season if it hopes to be competitive.
"We got beat up pretty good there in the second half, but we showed some moxy there in the first quarter to take it to them like we did," said Villanova head coach James Frizzell. "We'll walk away with a 35-10 loss, but we'll always remember what it was like to lead Penn State 10-0 at their place in our first year in FBS football."
Villanova will get a chance to redeem itself next week in its home opener against an Army team that seems quite beatable.

Ouch, tough loss man. Honestly though i don't think anybody expected you to win that game in your first season. Good luck with the rest of the season!
Yeah, I was pretty shocked that I jumped out to the early lead and held onto it for the rest of the half. Unfortunately, Penn State woke up in the third quarter and that was all she wrote! If the Nittany Lions had had their foot on the gas all game long, I probably would have lost by 40+ points.
Nick Yako is now a legend, at least for this week. The Villanova (2-1, 0-0 Big East) kicker won the game for the Wildcats with a 38-yard kick that put them up 17-16 over the Army Black Knights (0-3) as time expired.
Yako missed his first two field goal tries, one from 42 yards out and the other from 39 yards, but he connected on the one that he needed to.
"I struggled on those first two, but I put those behind me and just focused on nailing the ball through the uprights," he said.
Villanova trailed 16-7 in the fourth quarter until Chris Whitney found Dorian Wells wide open for a 49 yard touchdown pass with 3:09 left in the third quarter. Whitney had a fantastic game, throwing for 283 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Norman White also had a great game, catching passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. Senior wide receiver Matt Szczcur tallied eight receptions for 97 yards.
The Army Black Knights offense struggled some on the ground, but had an uncharacteristically good game throwing the football as sophomore quarterback Trent Steelman threw for 247 yards. Unfortunately, an interception and three fumbles lost doomed the Black Knights as they were -3 in turnover margin.
"We didn't win pretty, but it's a win," explained Coach Frizzell. "This was a good win in our home opener and it's a win we dearly needed if we hope to make a run for a bowl game this year. We got that win and we'll move on to preparing for Buffalo next week."

The Buffalo Bulls (3-1, 0-0 MAC) won their second consecutive game this afternoon as they defeated the Villanova Wildcats (2-2, 0-0 Big East) 34-27 in overtime on the road. For Villanova, it was homecoming, but a sullen homecoming it was as a result of the loss to the Bulls, who lost to Baylor 41-7 just two weeks earlier.
Buffalo took a 14-3 lead in the first quarter, but the Wildcats stayed with it and eventually found themselves up 27-24 in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, Buffalo made their way inside the five yard line with a first-and-goal with under a minute remaining. Fortunately, the Villanova defense made a stand, one of their only stands of the day, holding the Bulls to a field goal and forcing overtime.
In overtime, Buffalo scored rather easily off a nine yard touchdown pass by Davis. Unfortunately for Villanova, they could not move the ball and were forced into a fourth-and-11. Chris Witney's pass fluttered incomplete over the middle and the Bulls emerged with a clutch overtime victory, giving them momentum going into MAC conference play.
Villanova turned the ball over three times and failed to score three times in the red zone, which ultimately cost the Wildcats the game. In addition, the Villanova defense had trouble stopping big plays by the Buffalo offense, including a 78 yard run in the fourth quarter which gave Buffalo a 24-20 lead.
The Wildcats will have to try to rebound next week at Vanderbilt, which will be a tough one. Vanderbilt is 2-1 and 1-1 in the SEC with their lone loss being to #24 LSU. The Wildcats will then take on Rutgers in Piscataway on a Thursday night in another game that will be very difficult to win.
"Our bowl hopes aren't looking good right now, but we're just going to go out there every week and try to do our best and win football games," said Villanova head coach James Frizzell. "We may not be a good football team, per say, but heart and hustle can still win you some football games and we're not giving up anytime soon, no matter our record."
