I'd say stick with it man...Maybe for some reason they do keep you around, or you get fired and there'll be another team willing to hire you? It's worth a shot. I really thought that upset win against Pitt would have been a turnaround for ya too.

Just see what happens after year 2. If you get canned, then have to start a new one or go to a new team.

I understand what you all are saying, but my approval bar is at zero midway through year two and I have very little chance at changing that no matter how good/bad I do at this point. My team rating is a D, which doesn't help matters. It's a helplessly futile situation due to the lack of coaching contracts logic in this game. I really wish this game had contracts like on CH 2K8.

However now you see you are Coaching at Villanova. It's not like you were putting TCU in the Big East where they will dominate. You should've started in the MAC built the team prestiage up and hoped for a invite to the Big East or ACC.
Yeah, jumping to a BCS conference was a huge mistake. I just saw the C- rating and figured I could be competitive after a few seasons. The problem is that all the higher rated players graduated, which left me with an absolutely terrible football team ratings-wise.

Yeah, I don't get it. I guess I should have turned coach contracts off when I fired this up a couple weeks ago. My mistake. Then I could go 0-12 and still not be canned.

Yeah, it's hard to play games when they have no meaning at all, though. Whatever the case, I'll give you all some updates because I have writeups written all the way through my third game of year #2.

Big Fourth Quarter Propels Villanova Past Cincinnati on Senior Day

With their bowl hopes dashed with last week's 40-7 loss at Syracuse, the Villanova Wildcats (4-7, 2-4 Big East) played loosely and wonderfully this afternoon as they upset the favored Cincinnati Bearcats (5-6, 1-5 Big East) 21-10. The Bearcats were without starting quarterback Zach Collaros, who is out for over a month with a knee injury.

The Wildcats trailed 10-0 early on against the Bearcats and were behind 10-7 going into the fourth quarter, but two touchdowns in the fourth quarter gave the Wildcats a 21-10 edge as the final gun sounded.

The loss gives Cincinnati its fourth consecutive loss and drops the Bearcats to 5-6 overall and only 1-5 in Big East Conference play, their lone win being against South Florida, who is winless in conference action. The Bearcats will need a win at home against Pittsburgh next week in order to become bowl eligible.

Early on, the Wildcats struggled under the direction of senior quarterback Chris Whitney. However, he suffered an unfortunate injury in his final home game and was forced out of the game in the second quarter. Head coach James Frizzell reported after the game that Whitney should be well for the Wildcats' season finale next week at South Florida, though.

Today, however, Whitney's replacement was an improvement as junior backup quarterback Marlon Calbi came in to throw for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns in place of Whitney. More importantly, he did not turn the ball over once and completed 11 of his 16 pass attempts. Whitney threw two interceptions on 14 passing attempts as he struggled before succumbing to his injury.

This game also was yet another showcase of the dramatic improvement the Villanova defense has seen throughout the season. The defense could seemingly stop no one at the beginning of the season But two of the last three opponents have been held to under 17 points.

"There's no doubt our defense has really stepped it up a notch lately," said head coach James Frizzell. "We're not a stellar defensive football team by any stretch of the imagination, but the unit has been playing well enough to give us two wins in the last three games."

The Wildcats will take on the South Florida Bulls next week in Tampa, FL. The Bulls enter the game 0-6 in conference play and will look to defeat the Wildcats in order to avoid going 0-fer in conference play.

Running of the Bulls

The South Florida Bulls (4-8, 1-6 Big East) finally won their first Big East Conference game of the season this afternoon as they defeated the Villanova Wildcats (4-8, 2-5 Big East) 39-24 on Senior Day behind a strong effort in the fourth quarter. Some referred to this game as the Toilet Bowl, given that it was played behind two of the Big East's cellar dwellers, but you couldn't tell judging by the intensity showcased by the players on the field.

The Bulls led early on 27-7, but the Villanova Wildcats came back, eventually pulling to within three points entering the third quarter with the score 27-24 in favor of the Bulls. But a two touchdown fourth quarter gave the Bulls the breathing room they needed as the Bulls sent their seniors out in style with a 39-24 victory.

"This year has been very tough on myself and the players," said USF head coach Skip Holtz, "but this win helps to dull the pain to some degree. Winning on Senior Day is a great way to send out these seniors who gave their last four years to this university."

B.J. Daniels passed for 204 yards for the Bulls. Moise Plancher led the Bulls with 107 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 21 carries.

The season is now over for both teams as neither will make a bowl game with 4-8 records.
