Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
ESPN COLLEGE GAME DAY LIVE AT BRONCO STADIUM FOR #1 Oregon @ #2 Boise St
Lee Corso has something to say baby Wow what a football game we have on our hands today not only for the top spot in the BCS for now. But a chance to seperate themselves more in the Pac 12 north I CANT WAIT. Kirk Herbstreit- You know guys we talk about top 5 matchups and normally its LSU or Florida or Oklahoma, But wow we got two teams from the Pac 12 coming to us later today for a great game. Like you said Mr Corso i cannot wait either. Oregon wants to stay #1 and get the monkey off there back for losing the last 4 times to the Broncos. Chris Fowler- Yea i think most Duck fans would really love a win today to. Last time we were here former QB Kellen Moore hit Chris Potter in the back of the endzone for the game winning touchdown in a game that was very good from start to finish just like last seasons match up. I think another think that is bugging Oregon is the fact that Boise St comes into there conference 2 seasons ago and has won the only 2 Pac 12 title games ever. they beat Stanford in 2011 and Utah last season. You look at these two teams and they have alot of similarities btu they are also very different in other areas to. Oregon known mostly for there rushing attack and Boise St for there great passing even after Kellen Moore left. Herbstreit- Your exactly right Boise continues to air it out averaging over 292 passing yards a game. Oregon averages 301 yards rushing a game. So it will be interesting to see what defense steps up more to slow that attack down. Oregon has been really poor against the rush up until last week when Utah was held to under 60 yards rushing. The thing Oregon may worry about is focusing to much on the pass and allow Boise St who also can run that ball, To get those chip away runs and then open up the pass even more. Oregons young quarterback Cole Tyler is in his first year as a starter, While Boise St's Southwick is back from last season, so the expereince for sure goes to Boise St in the passing department. If Boise St can slow down the run game i think that puts to much pressure on Tylers young but very decent arm, However, Oregon comes at ya with more then 1 or 2 backs, they usually have up to 5 guys touch the ball a game. So its hard to focus on one player, And when Oregon does get the passing game going, it can be deadly with some speedy receivers in DeAnthony Thomas, Josh Huff and Charlie Pace, Corso- You said it best brother, Both of these teams have alot of weapons Boise St is getting back there best wideout Geraldo Hiwatt and at 6-4 he poses a very tough task for the Oregon secondary, However you look at both corners for oregon, Patterson and Everett both have 3 picks this season, I think they will actually mix up who is guarding Hiwatt and not leave the same player on him. I know who iam picking but ill tell ya in a few minutes. Fowler- Well both of these teams want this game alot but i feel like Oregon wants it alil more, there on the road, they wanna prove they can finally beat Boise St, And to be honest at the start of the season i did not think we would be here at this game with both teams being 1 and 2, I mean i could have seen us being here overall but not with these 2 ranked where they are. Kirk i gotta ask. obviusly the winner will be #1 in the BCS after this weekend, but do u think the winner of this game can keep it going and make it to the title game and possibly even win it all ? Kirk- Well thats tough to say there both playing great football right now people would say as a whole Boise St is doing better, they havent gave up as many points and yards on defense as Oregon has, they both have played USC and UCLA. I think those 2 teams are hard to measure anything off of. but ya i think its possible that the winner of todays game can win it all. you look at the BCS right now and the top 5 teams all have conference title games that they would possibly have to play in... Oregon, Boise St, Michigan, Alabama and Mississippi St. Alabama and Miss.St play each other next week, however Alabama as to still worry about there very tough game today against #10 Georgia Tech. And Mississippi St takes on Tennessee, So we could very will be in Alabama next week if Alabama and Miss.St win there games today, and while iam mentioning SEC for a second, on a side note gentlemen, Texas A&M in there first year in the SEC right now... 1-5 so yea i wonder if there regretting that decisions yet.. SO as for our game today Oregon-Boise St.. this one is tough it can go either way but i think at the end of the day and i know this isnt what the fans here wanna hear, but i think Oregons defense keeps it going.. add that in with there strong running game, and the depth i think Oregon wins this game but by less the 10.... how about you Lee Corso- Well as i said im soooo excited for this game. Always fun to watch the top 2 teams in the country go at it espeically when there in the same conference. but my friends iam going to take....... the OREGON DUCKS to win this game......GO DUCKS...(Crowd is booing) Fowler- (laughs) Well i dont think Mr Herbstriet or Mr Corso will be getting any good recommendations on any restaurants in the area... but none the less dont miss out on #1 Oregon Vs #2 Boise St at 6 eastern on ABC. Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
BIG 4TH QUARTER HELPS OREGON FINALLY BEAT BOISE ST 49-34
Boise Id, Finally. Thats the word Oregon fans and players used after the Ducks used a huge 4th quarter to finally beat the Boise St Broncos for the first time in 4 tries. This one being the biggest game of them all as Oregon came in ranked first and Boise St #2. In the early stages it wasnt looking good for Oregon, Has Boise St took a quick 14-0 lead. But Oregon would fight back and HB Michael Brown for Oregon ran it in from 56 yards out, when he came in to give Ryne Brown a breather, Boise St quickly got down field on the next drive but Oregons D got the stops and held Boise St to a Field Goal, the first quarter was only 7-0 Boise St, but the fireworks kicked off in the 2nd quarter has Oregon outscored Boise St in the 2nd qtr 22-20. It DeAnthony Thomas caught a 66 yard TD bomb from Cole Tyler right before half and thats where the momentum for Oregon kicked in. Boise St struck gold again late in the 3rd as once again Southwick hit Hiwatt for a 76 yard TD pass. Boise St took a 34-25 lead into the final quarter and many Duck fans felt another loss coming on..... But then the wild 4th quarter came. Probably the best 4th quarter this season. It started out with Oregon getting a 38 yard fieldgoal cutting it to 34-28, a 6 point game. on the next drive Southwick looked over the middle and it was picked off by Linebacker Anthony Wallace who got to the outside and outran Southwick for the 62 yard pick six. Seems every Oregon TD was longer then 50 yards. after the extra point Oregon had the 1 point lead. But with plenty of time left. On Boise Sts next drive they would end up punting it away. Oreong QB Cole Tyler then faked a dive up the middle to DeAnthony Thomas and kept it and followed Thomas, He got some good downfield blocking and took it 67 yards for yet another Oregon long touchdown, that then extended the lead to 42-34. Boise St again would not give up and they got down field.. got inside the 15 yard line but on a 4th down Southwick felt the pressure as he did all 2nd half. And under threw his receiver at the 2 yard line and Oregon took over, But only being up 8 with still 2 minutes left. Oregon wanted to try and get one more to clinch it, and thats what happened, Oregon scored on a 27 yard TD pass from Tyler to Huff that put the game away. giving Oregon a 49-34 win and outscoring Boise St 27-7 in the 2nd half and 24-0 in the 4th... i dunno where that came from it could have easily gone the other way and Boise St could have pulled away and won by 30. Boise St had 33 net rushing yards but most of it was lost from the 8 sacks Oregon put on Southwick, they only had 2 at half..Boise St didnt even get a flag thrown on them all game. the combo of Southwick and Hiwat could not be stopped as Hiwat had 8 catches for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns. Oregon finally got the monkey off there back and in no better of a season then this one with Oregon being #1 in the BCS, this now keeps Oregon #1 and is in sole possession of first place in the Pac12 North. Now it leaves the question, will Oregon lose ?.

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
OREGON HOLDS OFF COLORADO AND AVOIDS UPSET
Oregon returned home after beating Boise St last week in Boise in a matchup of 1 vs 2.. Oregon fans had to be alil worried about a letdown game against a very much improved Colorado team that came into the game 5-2 and averaging 37 points a game.. But the Ducks defense that has been up and down all year came through in clutch style picking off 2 Colorado passes in the last 2 minutes of the game. the 2nd one coming from Avery Patterson who made his 2nd interception of the game, was with only 45 seconds to go. And the Ducks held on to the win 31-21. both offenses either was not on the game early or the defense came to play it ended 0-0 after one. But then Oregon jumped out to a 14-0 lead after a 80 yard TD pass from Tyler to Huff. and then on a 64 yard toss play for the TD by running back Ryne Brown. Brown would later score again giving him 3 touchdowns on the day. and a so far incredible freshman season. But Colorado wouldnt go away they cut the score to 24-21 and they were driving but with just over 2 minutes to go, Colorados pass was picked off by Anthony Wallace Oregon tried to run out the clock but couldnt get a first down. Colorado used 2 of there timeouts also to stop the clock, They got the ball back and was looking to atleast tie it up but on a deep comeback route there pass was intercepted again by Duck corner Avery Patterson for his 2nd of the day. Oregon ran a dive play and Colorado got to aggresive trying to get in there and strip it or make a quick stop and Ryne Brown broke off a 30 yard run to the house clinching the game 31-21. Brown had another solid game 21 carries 167 yards and 3 touchdowns. Also defensive end Anthony Anderson continues to wreck havoc this season as he gets 2 more sacks giving him 11 on the season he leads the country in sacks Ducks remain unbeaten 9-0 and Colorado who had that great start to there season has now lost 3 in a row. And it dont get any easier, up next for Colorado is Boise St. for the Ducks next up for them is a trip to CAL. Oregon has stepped up on there rush defense but now there having issues stopping the Pass for the second straight game they gave up a huge game to the opponents star receiver, Last week against Boise St's Hiwat had over 200 yards, And today Paul Richardson had 10 catches and 124 yards. Next Game November 9th @ CAL (4-6)
Pictures and videos from the game Oregon Runningback Ryne Brown breaks off a 29 yard TD late in the game http://www.easports.com/media/play/video/100350672 Oregon Cornerback Avery Patterson makes his first of two interceptions on the day here. |

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
OREGON GETS PAST CAL. REMAINS #1
Oregon got off to a fast start and lea 17-7 after one quarter, and boy did they ever start off fast.. On Cals first play from scrimmage Avery Patterson the cornerback came on a blitz and hit the Cal QB causing a fumble and Anthony Wallace scooped it and scored. Wallace also returned a interception for a touchdown against Boise St a couple weeks ago... Cal fired right back with a 76 yard run by runningback D.Lasco, Oregon receiver Charlie Pace who had been really quiet the last few weeks, Came alive in this game he had 2 touchdown catches both were pretty much wide open passes. Oregon true freshman Ryne Brown had another big day, and a career high 34 rushes, He also had 177 yards rushing but did not score.. Brown now leads the country in rushing yards. It was looking like a shoot out at half.. Oregon led 24-20. But both defenses came out in the 2nd half and made some key stops. But Oregon still had alil more offense. outscoring Cal 13-8 in the 2nd half. Oregon sealed the deal with 2 late field goals. Winning 37-28. Up next for Oregon is a Washington team that came to Autzen last year on SR day and beat Oregon 45-21. Oregon is still #1 in the BCS and is 3 wins away from a National title game. **This was also a big game for new CAL head coach Gary Crowton who is the one time former OC of the Ducks. Crowton also was a OC at LSU. He replaced Jeff Tedford here at CAL in the off season. With the Loss CAL is now 4-7 and will probably miss a bowl game. unless they get the win in there final game and suck extra luck.**

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
ANOTHER HUGE 2ND HALF LAUNCHES DUCKS TO 11-0 RECORD AND SPOT IN CONFERENCE TITLE GAME
11/16/13-Seattle,Wa. its been a thing for the Ducks this season to shut down teams in the 2nd half and pull away, They did it to Boise St most recently. And again today saving there unbeaten season and spot as #1 in the BCS by defeating the Washington Huskies 50-30. It was not pretty early in the game. Oregon star runningback Ryne Brown went down to a mild concussion. he left the game with just 3 rushes for 47 yards. he was hurt on his longest run of the day, A 30 yard run. But the Ducks very deep at runningback did not slow down. Backup Michael Brown came in and had a career day. 183 yards and 3 touchdowns, 8 different players ran the ball for Oregon. the first half was a big one for the Huskies as the Ducks could not slow down running back Jesse Callier who went left right and over the oregon defense for over 220 yards in the first half. and 3 touchdowns. Oregon hung in there and even though Washington scored 23 2nd quarter points. Oregon was only down 30-23 at the break. Oregon came out in the 2nd half and forced the Huskies to punt and it went all down hill for the huskies after that. Oregon got a field goal, but then on the next 2 Huskie drives they fumbled the ball both times leading to Oregon touchdowns. a 1 yard DeAnthony Thomas TD and a 11 yard run by Michael Brown. Still cant figure out what makes Oregon tick in the 2nd halfs of the games but its working. they outscored Washington 27-0 in the 2nd half. Washington came in as the #1 rush defense in the Pac12 and the worst at stopping the pass.. but Oregon still stuck to the rushing game plan, they did throw it alil more then usual. But at the end of the day the Huskie defense just could not slow Oregon down. as they went on to win 50-30 and clinch a spot in the Pac12 title game.. Oregon could lose to Oregon St but still win the tie breaker over Boise St. However the bigger goal is for Oregon to make it to the National title game. The defense did give up another 30 point game but there is alot of young players playing key roles on this defense, I think it will only improve. oregon remembers last seasons lost at home on senior day to the Huskies 45-21. Up next for the Ducks is the final regular season game. The Civil War at home against the Oregon St Beavers and then will stay at home to play in the Pac 12 title game. ( i still need to tweak around alil on the rushing sliders. but all in all pretty decent games)

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
Ok Iam not sure how many people have been following my dynasty i mean it is over 2600 views, thanks iam kinda thinking but not sure....
i dunno if i should just sim all my games and see what happens, im wondering if im over achieving with my team, or maybe over or under achieving with players. Like my 5 star freshman running back at one point already was the nations leading rusher, but would he be if i was simming like all the other teams and players have to have done. and my 5 star qb i wonder if he would pass and rush even better or maybe worse under the sim format, being he is only a sophomore. I mean for the most part the stats each game are pretty real except for the rushing I need to maybe up the run d and lower the rush block, Ive been doing the coach mode where u can pick the play and computer runs it. ill do that for 3 plays and then sim 4. and back and forth, I kinda wanted to mix in playing and simming. just incase some of my players cant do crap if i do all coach plays. the only issue is when i up the run D and lower the run blocking.. to slow down the dives and off tackle and toss plays that go for big yards, it makes the read options and regular option plays harder, its like the defense comes right in there. If i do happen to sim the games ill do it in game mode. where ill go to the game and supersim each play that way i still have some control during the game like deciding when to go for it or not.. if the coach wants to do something i dont want to. or i can still do to the depth chart and move guys around.... I was also thinking of simming a full game and then coach mode a full game back and forth, so it would be 6 sim games and 6 play games. because i mean i dont wanna recruit all these big Olineman or tall Wr's or fast Hb's and never see them on the field..... sorry such a long post.. i just wanted to get anyones idea of what they think i should do.. and if there is anyone who has been following let me know if i should keep it how it is... thanks |

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
BEAVERS SHOCK DUCKS IN CIVIL WAR ENDING OREGONS UNBEATEN SEASON
Well as they always say when it comes to the civil war you can throw out all records. And today was one of those cases. The #1 ranked and 11-0 Oregon Ducks took on there rivals the Oregon St Beavers who came into the game last in the Pac12 North at 4-7 and 2-6 in Conference play. The Ducks had a shaky first quarter as the Beavers ran off 10 points leading 10-0 after one. Oregon battled back in the 2nd Qtr, right before half Cole Tyler connected with SR Josh Huff for a 77 yard Td pass.. Oregon St still had the lead 17-10 but momentum was on Oregons side as they got the ball to start the 2nd half but ended up going 3 and out. Cole Tyler only a sophomore. Not sure if there was to much pressure building with each game. But he was 0-7 to start the game, also ended up pitching it to a Beaver player on a option. And later in the game threw a interception. The Beavers did bring there A game today. The only scoring in the 3rd was the Beavers kicking a 17 yard FG. Going into the 4th the Beavers led 20-10 However everyone knew this game was far from over with the past 4th quarters Oregon has had.. AND here came Oregon as Tyler hit receiver Rashaan Vaughn for a 35 yard strike into the endzone. As it looked Cole Tyler was having a up and down game. Oregon brought the score within 3, 20-17. But the Beavers would not go away and on there next drive they took it down field and HB Marcus Agnew scored a huge 5 yard TD run. bringing it back to 10 points. 27-17 with just over 4 minutes left. And Oregon did it again. converting on two 3rd down conversions in the 4th, Tyler hit WR Charlie Pace for a 17 yard TD pass. Its hard to believe Tyler had 3 touchdown passes. But the Beavers did a great job slowing down the Oregon rushing attack. Oregon forced Oregon St to punt with about a minute 30 left and the biggest play of the day took place.. Oregon's DeAnthony Thomas took the punt return and had it striped away, this was the 3rd fumble for Oregon. none bigger then this one. Oregon St jumped on it and ended up running out the clock. Beavers winning 27-24. Oregon still is heading to the Pac 12 title game. they have the tie breaker over Boise St. Oregon State ends there season at 5-7. but the biggest win of the year. Oregons Ryne Brown was held to just 26 yards on 8 carries and Oregon did not score a rushing touchdown. Up next the Pac 12 title game home vs Stanford. On a side note the Beavers 2 Qbs who played today both are Sr's so look for Sean Mannion to step in as the teams starter next season.
( I did tweak on the rushing sliders alil I lowered Run blocking and moved up Rush D it wasnt to bad for this game. both teams were close to 200 yards but they both also ran it over 40 times) |
