Re: Vikings CCM

Tough way to close the season. That was brutal to lose Peterson and Harvin.

McKenzie was a machine!

After looking at the midseason stats and final stats, I was wondering if you switched Robison and Allen halfway through?

I did switch them at midway, I'll continue to do that. Sucks that no pressure from the right side. Hopefully Madden NFL 25 has this problem fixed.

Wanted to keep it as realistic as possible!

Minnesota Vikings trades WR Percy Harvin to the Colts

Vikings Receive - 2013 1st Round 7th Overall pick

Indeapolis Colts Receive - WR Percy Harvin & 2014 4th Round

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vikings Trade 2 round 16th pick to Cleveland Browns

Vikings Receive - 2013 3rd & 4th round picks

Cleveland Browns Recieve - 2013 2nd round pick

Minnesota feels good about their draft. They got two good receivers that will start on day one, got more depth in the CB postion (retired Windield). Found a very nice DT that will start next to pro bowl K.Willaims. What the Vikings are happy with is their pick of RB A.Nelson out of Kansas, he'll learn from AP.

Re: Vikings CCM

A display of talent on opening day.
Duo combo of Stream and Woodard showed greatness, defense allows only field goals win over Tampa Bay 21-15.

Minneapolis, Min - Opening day of the 2013 season kicked off with the Minnesota Vikings vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Many fans scratched their heads when Minnesota traded WR Percy Harvin to the Colts for some draft picks. Last time these two teams faced off Vikings won the game. A very young talented receiving core showed greatness all game long. Defense stood strong allowing just Tampa to field goals, which eventually wasn't enough.

First quarter Tampa Bay started with the ball at their own 28 yard line. Tampa bay was moving the ball quite well on the ground with Thomas. They were held to a field goal try to make the score 3-0.

Minnesota turn with the ball, with a new offense. Minnesota only could manage just one 1st down and had to punt the ball away to Tampa. Tampa would continue tosmash mouth football and did it really well. Gashing us for big yards after big yards. Soon they would punt the ball back to Minnesota. Next possession Minnesota started with the ball at the 12 yard line. AP got stuffed on first and second down. 3rd down 10 to go Ponder connects with rookie wide out Woodard for a 88 yard touchdown! put Vikings up 7-3 lead in the first quarter.

2nd quarter Tampa would manage to get 3 field goals as they could not register a touchdown against Minnesota defense. Tampa did keep AP in check in the first half to 38 yards rushing, and forced the ball loose for their only turnover in the game. Ponder was looking good hitting 6 of his 10 passes in first half. Rookie running back Nelson looked good in the first half with 2 carries for 14 yards. 1st half score 12-10 Buccs.

3rd quarter would be all Minnesota Vikings. Ponder would find his second touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Stream for a 49 yard connection. Minnesota's third possession would cap a 57 yard drive for a 54 yard field goal, score now is 21-12 Vikings lead. Tampa Bay struggled the move the ball at all, J.Allen became a big factor in the third with 2 sacks. Adrian Peterson and rookie Nelson started to light things up in the third. Nelson made a nice nifty move on LB David for a nice 16 yard gain. They would not score at all in the third quarter, 21-12 end of the third quarter.

Tampa Bay started with the ball in the fourth quarter, during the first drive Josh Freeman sustained a injury that would keep him out for the rest of the game. Backup quarterback Oriovsky would step in the game. On the current drive they would cap off with another field goal making that 5 on the day. Orviosky threw a interception in the end zone that cost them 3 pts minimum. Koenen had a busy day kicking six times, he missed a make able field goal in late in the 4th QTR. Even though Minnesota didn't score in the fourth, they did manage to run the clock down. AP and Nelson would run the clock out leaving Tampa Bay no chance to make a comeback.

*side notes

Looks like that AP and Nelson could a be a big threat in the backfield. Both with speed and determination to get more yards. On 29 carries they both combined for 142 yards on the ground.

Could this mean less passes for Ponder this season? with the way AP and Nelson in the backfield.

Rookie wide receivers Stream and Woodard combined had 173 yards of 220 yards of Ponders passing yards. Looks like the trade of Harvin might just work out.

Guess having two targets instead of one is better!
