Re: Whatever Happened to the Patriot Way - A Madden NFL 25 New England Patriots CFM
The New England Patriots return to the field this week to take on the Carolina Panthers on the Monday night stage. Besides the big Monday night game between the aforementioned teams, there's plenty of action in the NFL this weekend.
Arizona Cardinals (5-4) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (4-5)
The Arizona Cardinals started the year on a good note, but have trailed off in the past few weeks. Having only won two of their last six games, the Cardinals are now fighting for a playoff spot in the tough NFC Conference. The Jaguars have an uphill battle to fight in their own division and are sorely in need of a win. To make matters worse for the Jaguars, they'll be without left tackle Eugene Monroe for the next few weeks.
Kansas City Chiefs (7-2) @ Denver Broncos (6-3)
Given the amount of players that the Broncos and Chiefs have lost to injury this year, their records are impressive. The Chiefs have been winning games without starter Alex Smith at the helm. The Broncos have had to patch together or play without key contributors for most of the first half of the season. With both teams the healthiest they've been since the start of the season, it's time for them to prove which one should be atop the AFC West.

Week 11
Some important players are returning for both the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts. The Saints will have both Lance Moore and Jed Collins returning to the lineup, while the Indianapolis Colts will get starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo back this week.
Injuries have devasted the defensive line of the Oakland Raiders. Not only are rookies Ryan Robinson and Stacy McGee on injured reserve, Jason Hunter and Vance Walker are also out for the next few weeks with a dislocated ankle and a shoulder tear respectively. Releasing offensive lineman Matthew McCants and quarterback Matt Flynn opened up roster spots for the two free agents to be signed.
The Minnesota Vikings made a number of moves this week, releasing three players and signing quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson. Bethel-Thompson will be the backup Sunday as Christian Ponder will miss the next two weeks with a groin injury. The Vikings released Webb, Dean and Baker in order to have enough cap space to sign Bethel-Thompson.
The Baltimore Ravens' 2013 season just got worse as the team will be without starting quarterback Joe Flacco. Flacco is scheduled to miss the next five weeks with a broken hand. Third year quarterback Tyrod Taylor will start Baltimore's next game against the Chicago Bears.
Even though Travis Bond isn't expected to start for the Carolina Panthers, signing him gives the team depth on the interior of the offensive line.

Game Notes
The Carolina Panthers are without two starters this week as guard Chris Scott will miss the next five games with a hamstring tear and Mike Mitchell is out for the remainder of the season. The one area that the Panthers may be able to exploit against the New England Patriots is their pass defense, which is currently last in the league. While the Patriots do have the advantage in this game, it still has to be played.

Will the real Tom Brady please stand up? This entire season has been a struggle for Brady. When the Patriots lost Aaron Hernandez, Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, and Danny Woodhead, everyone expected this offense to have some issues with chemistry. While some players on offense haven't played well at times, Brady has been inconsistent and inaccurate. Against the Carolina Panthers Monday, the entire offense looked terrible. The numbers might say one thing, but the real story was the Panthers' defense.
The New England Patriots managed to grab an early lead with a 29 yd field goal in the first quarter. It was mostly downhill from there. Throughout the
game, the Patriots could not sustain a drive. The Panthers moved the ball down the field with ease. With halftime looming, the Panthers had built a 24-3 lead. A huge pass play from Brady to Aaron Dobson led to a field goal that helped the Patriots close the gap.
The Patriots received the ball first in the second half and produced one of their few productive offensive drives of the night. While keeping the Panthers scoreless in the third, the Patriots added two more field goals, narrowing the deficit to 24-12. After stopping the Panthers on defense in the fourth quarter, Julian Edelman returned a punt 61 yards, putting the Patriots within five points of the Panthers. Another drive later in the quarter helped the Patriots take a one point lead after not converting a two point attempt.
The Patriots were able to hold onto their slim lead until late in the 4th quarter. A touchdown pass to Ted Ginn put the Panthers up by six. The Panthers failed on a two point conversion, but there was still enough time for the Patriots to make one last stand. The Patriots ended turning the ball over on downs in Panther territory. Despite the missed opportunity, the Patriots held the Panthers to a field goal, giving the home team a 33-25 lead. With less than a minute left, the Patriots made one last attempt to tie the game, but it wasn't meant to be.
With this loss, the Patriots are now looking at their second consecutive losing streak of the year. Earlier in the season, the focus was on the defense, but not enough attention was paid to Brady's lackluster performances. With the two interceptions thrown in this game, Brady now has a career high 22 interceptions. With the defense not playing well, the Patriots desperately need Brady to improve his play.
Game Ball/Extra Reps
Game Ball Aqib Talib: Talib looks like he's a lock for the Pro Bowl as he grabs his 7th interception of the season. Aaron Dobson/Rob Gronkowski/Danny Amendola: Despite the offenses struggles, these players produce.
Extra Reps Offensive Line/Nate Solder: Not only can the offensive line not block in the running game, they also allowed 3 sacks. Tom Brady: There's no doubt about it now. After the second 2 game losing streak of the season, Brady is having a dreadful season. His two interceptions put him at 22 already, eight more than his career high.
Media Reaction Robert Flores @RoFloEA: Panthers had some good home cooking this week it seems, had some pep in their step. Skip Bayless @SkipBaylessEA: It's one game, people! Can we temper the excitement for Cam Newton just a pinch?
