Fascinating idea with the conferences. This is really going to spice up the dynasty even more. Can't wait to see where my Gators end up!

Re: Poke It Real Good: A Wyoming Cowboys Dynasty (NCAA '14)

These are some of the more balanced conferences so far in the new American. Mid-tier teams from the old Pac 12, SEC, and B1G in Cal, Miss St, and Iowa should rotate in and out of dominance.

The North Division features a Pacific NW rivalry possibility with Boise St and Oregon St. Also, this would be a ridiculous college basketball conference with KU, UConn, and the Terps all aboard.

Could have a nice regional brouhaha with a KU-Hawkeyes championship game.

I will probably post the rest of the new conference alignments in the next couple of days, but I can tell you that your Gators landed in a loaded division of the new B1G. To see who their conference-mates are, you'll just have to wait and see! lol

The WYOMING COWBOYS put the finishing touches on their championship season by locking up a class of 15 recruits. The class ranked 14th in the nation, which is now 3 Top 20 classes in a row, and featured the first 5* prospect of CRAIG BOHL's tenure.

The Pokes hauled in #2 MLB and 5* KODY SMITH out of South Carolina. Smith has tantalizing size for a 3-4 inside backer--he's 6'4" 262 pounds. Although Smith has good athletic ability and size, his relatively low strength (70) and awareness (48) have the coaching staff thinking a redshirt year will be needed. In fact, due to coordinator turnover, the Pokes will be running a 4-3 this year after 8 years in the 3-4, and Smith figures to be the MLB of the future.

The Pokes also lasso'd a highly-rated quartet of linemen--2 on the D-Line and 2 on the O-Line. DE MIKE BERG and DT BRIAN WASHINGTON are a pair of 4* recruits that rank among the Top 20 at their positions. Berg was heavily recruited to Signing Day, and the Pokes edged BYU and UTAH. Both Washington and Berg will redshirt, but both will immediately become starters as redshirt freshmen.

On the O-Line, #3 C 4* MIKE DOBZINSKI and #24 C 3* THOMAS GSCHWEND were both brought in. After working both out, Gschwend actually gemmed up and Dobzinski busted out to the point where Gschwend will stick as C and Dobzinski will move to backup RT. Again, both will redshirt--Coach Bohl is adamant about linemen not playing as true freshmen whenever possible.

Finally, the Pokes added both a kicker and a punter. NATE YOUNG recruited as a K, will actually transition to punter, and BRAYLON FONTAINE, recruited as a P, will become the starting place kicker. The decision was made because Fontaine has a bigger leg and will give the Pokes more FG range. The new special teamers will be a huge upgrade over the walk-on K/P JERMAINE SMITH who handled both duties last season. Smith performed admirably, but was limited to 40-yarders and under.

Re: Poke It Real Good: A Wyoming Cowboys Dynasty (NCAA '14)

The new Sun Belt has a lot more power. Both divisions contain marquee programs in Nebraska, Texas, and Georgia.

The balance of power in the Sunrise will rest squarely on head-to-head matchups between the Cornhuskers and the Auburn Tigers. Although, with Auburn's rushing attack, Rich Rod's spread and shred at Arizona, and the Huskers option game, defenses will have their work cut out for them here.

The Sunset features a very deep division--a gumbo of SEC and Big 12 flavor. The Sunset division features Texas, the flagship team of the old Big 12, Georgia, the old SEC behemoth, and a pair of teams in Mizzou and TAMU who have been in both conferences. This division should be extremely competitive each year, with even SDSU having a say from time to time. The Miami (OH) Redhawks look to be a doormat.

Texas-Nebraska and Auburn-Georgia would be the most desirable conference championship scenarios.
