Week 6 vs Saints

Costly Turnovers Cost Saints Ball Game

The Saints dropped to .500 after their loss to the now 5-1 New England Patriots going into Week 6 of the NFL Regular Season. Drew Brees found himself in a 3 interception hole barely dugout by his 2 touchdowns. But the real star of the game was the free-agent signee Leon Washington that was brought back to the Patriots after being cut in the closing weeks of the preseason. Washington ran over 207 yards for 2 touchdowns. In previous weeks, New England running backs couldn't manage to put up more than 50 yards. Those touchdowns, coupled with Tom Brady's two, as well as Aqib Talib's pick six would lead to a Patriots 45-20 win.

Stats
Passing
Drew Brees: 20/43, 47%, 274 Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 3 Interceptions
Tom Brady: 12/26, 46%, 177 Yards, 2 Touchdowns, 1 Interception

Rushing
Pierre Thomas: 18 Attempts, 2.6 Avg, 47 Yards
Leon Washington: 27 Attempts, 7.6 Avg, 206 Yards, 2 Touchdowns

Receiving
Rob Gronkowski: 3 Receptions, 64 Yards, 21.3 Avg, 1 Touchdown
Lance Moore: 4 Receptions, 106 Yards, 26.5 Avg, 1 Touchdown

Defense
Brandon Spikes: 7 Tackles, 1 Interception
Curtis Lofton: 6 Tackles, 1 Sack

Week 6 News

Broadway Blues: The New York football Giants fell to 1-5 this week after a 25-28 loss to the Chicago Bears. Jay Cutler put up 203 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Along with that, the New York Jets are still "defeated", losing 19-3 to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Rex Ryan on winless record:
"I'm not sure what else I can do. I mean, these guys are better than this, I'm better than this. And all we can do is put up 3 damn points? What the hell are we here for?"

Mulligan to the Operation Room: Patriots' tight end will receive surgery on his torn MCL this upcoming Thursday. Mulligan tore his MCL in the week 5 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Week 8 vs Miami

Patriots Squeak By Dolphins to Stay #1 in AFC
The Patriots could have loss their current #1 seed in the AFC to the Jacksonville Jaguars who are now 6-2. Fortunately, they didn't lose their division rival Miami Dolphins in Gillette Stadium and get to stay number one in the league.

Both teams traded field goals in the first half, with the score 6-3 Miami at the second period. The first touchdown would come in the winding seconds of the half with Tom Brady finding Danny Amendola for a one-yard touchdown, ending the first half with the Patriots leading 10-6.

The Dolphins would take the lead at the top of the third period when the game's rushing leader Daniel Thomas put up a two-yard touchdown: Miami up 13-10. When the Patriots got the ball back, Tom Brady would be picked off by Rashad Jones. The Dolphins would tack on another field goal, 16-10. But Brady would strike back with a 75 yard touchdown pass to Rob Gronkowski, putting New England up by one. Matt Moore, playing for the injured Ryan Tannehill, would be unable to follow suit and would be picked off by Tommy Kelly on a tipped pass. The Patriots would try to extend the lead, but Stephen Gostkowski missed the 49 yard field goal. Miami would stall on their next drive, as would New England. With 1:01 left on the clock and only one timeout, Matt Moore attempted to bring back the Dolphins, but would ultimately fail on fourth down. New England would escape with the win, and Miami dropped to 4-3. Patriots win 17-16.

Tom Brady: 17/30 (57%), 341 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception
Matt Moore: 10/32 (37%), 123 yards, 0 touchdowns, 2 interceptions
