Butch Jones Post Game Press Conference Quotes:

"I knew we would come out here and give them a run for their money. But, wow.... I wasn't expecting this. I was expecting a close game that would come down to the wire."

"Normally coaches would sit here and knit pick some minor things, but I'm not going to do that. This was a fantastic win and our young men played extremely hard and really represented Tennessee in a big way today."

"I am sad to announce that our top 2 running backs on the depth chart, Marlin Lane and Justus Pickett, were both injured and from what I've heard so far they both won't be able to play in the next few games. I don't know long they will be out, but I know we all hope for speedy recoveries."

"As of now, Alden Hill will be receiving the majority of carries at running back and Devrin Young will be playing a hybrid role between running back and a slot wide receiver to fill the void we currently have since Tyrone is redshirting."

"I thought the defensive play was spectacular. We held their 2 QB's to a combined 12-24 for completions and 158 yards passing, which is great against any opponent. But this is one of the most hostile environments in college football and we were able to play on that high of a level. I'm VERY proud of our defense for the way they played."

"If we play like this for the rest of the season, I see absolutely no reason as to why we couldn't win a National Championship. If you play like this week in and week out you're going to win games. Period. Now, I want us to enjoy this great win, but I also want us to build on this momentum and get ready for a tough game against Florida next week."

Kirk Herbstreit predicts the Vols to upset and when asked why he responded with... "After the win last week at Oklahoma, why wouldn't the Vols be favorite to win". He thinks the Vols beat Florida 27-24.

Butch Jones Post Game Press Conference Quotes:

"Wow... It's about time. Basically, in the locker room before the game, I told them the losing streak starts now. Not only were we hungry for the win, but the fans desperately wanted this win. A 9 year losing streak is never acceptable and especially when it's against one of your biggest rivals."

"I think Devrin Young is the most improved so far this year. He's done everything we've asked him to do and more. He plays a little running back, wide receiver and returns kicks/punts and does a great job at everything. I couldn't ask for more of him and I'm very proud of the way he's continued to improve as a football player since I've been at Tennessee."

"I thought our defense did a good job again... It wasn't great, but it was pretty solid. We got pressure on their QB but he just continued to show why he's a great QB and just kept completing passes. We got 4 sacks on him today which shows the improvement of our defensive line from the first game of the season to now. I'm proud of the way they've worked hard to become better players and it's showing on the field."

"Justin is continuing to be a great QB for us. He's making the right reads and delivering the ball where it needs to be. I know I've said something similar to this before, but it's the truth. He really is doing a great job for us."

"It really was a great win, and it's great to be a Tennessee Vol right now. Let's enjoy this win for now, but Monday it's back to work so we can prepare for a tough challenge at LSU. I know we'll be ready to play, but it will still be a tough environment to play in. They don't call it Death Valley for nothing..."
