Tennessee Routs Dallas in Home Opener
September 14, 2014

Jake Locker threw for nearly 300 yards and three scores as the Titans remain undefeated with a 34-14 win over the Cowboys. Locker's favorite target for the second week in a row was Kendall Wright. Wright ended up with eleven receptions for 169 yards and two scores in the win. In the second half, with the Titans holding a commanding 24-0 lead, rookie Bishop Sankey was inserted into the line up after Leon Washington struggled for the second straight week. Sankey looked solid with twelve carries for 67 yards and the first touchdown of his career.

The scoring started early, with the Titans taking their opening drive 80 yards down the field and finishing with a Locker to Wright touchdown from three yards out. On the first play of the second half, Maikon Bonani made it a ten point game with a 22-yard chip shot field goal. Following a Tony Romo interception [he would throw three] Locker would throw his second score of the game, this time to Nate Washington. Wright would score his second touchdown of the game with 1:52 left from thirty-four yards out and at halftime, the score was 24-0.

The Titans would slow their game in the second half, attempting to chew up clock. With 6:09 remaining, Bonani hit his second field goal of the game, making the score 27-0. Finally, with 2:15 left, Dallas would get on the scoreboard. DeMarco Murray, who struggled rushing all game, would catch a four yard pass from Tony Romo and the Cowboys were on the board. Sankey would respond with the first touchdown of his career with 8:19 left in the game. With 2:12 left, Romo would find Laron Byrd to cut the lead, once again to 20. However, an onside kick failed and the Titans would run out the clock and improve to 2-0.

Sankey's solid performance brings up the question, should he be starting? Washington has had an average of 2.7 YPC in two games. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt would not answer any questions regarding the running back situation with the media, so it is expected Washington will get the nod in week three.

Bonani Kicks Titans to Victory
September 21, 2014

With 1:03 remaining in the game, Maikon Bonani hit a 28-yard field goal to give Tennessee a 16-14 advantage which ended up being the game winning score. Tennessee, 3-0, is shocking the league with their 3-0 start. This one wasn't as easy though. Up 13-7 and threatening inside Cincinnati's 30-yard line, Jake Locker and the Titans were looking to put the game out of reach when Leon Hall intercepted Jake Locker and returned it 82-yards for the score and gave the Bengals a 14-13 lead. Locker stepped right back up with the game on the line. He marched the offense down the field and once they were inside the ten, ran down the clock the best they could. With 1:03 left, Bonani kicked the game winning score.

Re: We need a miracle... A Music City Miracle (Titans 15 CCM)

Still Rolling, Titans Top Injury Plagued Colts
September 28, 2014

A Colts defense currently ranked twenty-eighth in the league without Robert Mathis. A Colts offense without Reggie Wayne, Hakeem Nicks, and T.Y. Hilton. What does this all mean? A team that, when healthy, should be a lot better. Unfortunately, today was not that day. Jake Locker threw for 334 yards and a touchdown en route to the Titans' fourth victory in a row in Indianapolis. Leon Washington added 78 yards and three scores in the victory.

The game started with a flurry of scoring, with both teams trading two touchdowns in the first quarter alone, putting the game at 14-all entering the second quarter. Indianapolis would regain the lead midway through the second quarter on a three yard run by Ahmad Bradshaw. The Titans would respond in the final minute with a Maikon Bonani field goal, making the score at halftime, 21-17 Colts.

The Titans took the opening kickoff of the third quarter down the field and capped the drive off with a Leon Washington six yard touchdown giving the Titans their first lead of the game. In the fourth quarter, Tennessee would extend their lead with a pair of Maikon Bonani field goals and with 4:53 remaining, Leon Washington's third touchdown. A failed two point conversion put the score at Tennessee 36, Indianapolis 21. Matt Hasselbeck, playing in a few snaps while Andrew Luck was sidelined with an apparent shoulder injury, cut the lead down to 36-28 with 1:34 left. An onside kick would fail and the Titans would seal the game on Bonani's fourth field goal of the game, this one a career long 53-yard field goal.
