Re: We need a miracle... A Music City Miracle (Titans 15 v2)

Back-to-Back, Seattle Takes Championship in Overtime
February 1, 2015
Glendale AZ

Down 21-7 with just over ten minutes left in the game, Super Bowl MVP Russell Wilson knew his team may be down, but not out against the Cincinnati Bengals. Wilson engineered a perfect drive that was capped off by a Christine Michael touchdown, his second of the game. The Legion of Boom held up their end of the bargain on the next drive, picking Andy Dalton off and setting up the offense with great field position to tie the game. With 3:47 left in the game, Michael rushed for his third touchdown of the game [10 carries, 27 yards, 3 TD] and the game was tied at 21-all. Dalton and the Bengals wouldn't be able to score and the game went to overtime.

In overtime, Seattle would win the toss and march the length of the field. On a second and five from the 10, Wilson would flip a pass out to Marshawn Lynch, Beast Mode would ensue and Skittles rained in the end zone as he trotted in for the game winning score. Wilson finished the game 23-of-34 for 221 yards and the one touchdown. Due to his late game heroics, he was named the Most Valuable Player.

Re: We need a miracle... A Music City Miracle (Titans 15 v2)

A Look At The Tennessee Titans
2015 Off-Season
Offense

Quarterbacks
Under Contract | Zach Mettenberger
Expiring Contract | Jake Locker, Terrelle Pryor
Comments | Probably the biggest question mark heading into this off-season. No one truly proved they have what it takes to be the starter in Tennessee next year. However, it's likely that either Locker or Pryor will be retained and the Titans will either look to free agency or the draft for another quarterback.

Halfbacks
Under Contract | Andre Ellington, Shonn Greene, Bishop Sankey, Dexter McCluster
Expiring Contract | None
Comments | Ellington looked quite solid when he was healthy following the trade from Arizona. Shonn Greene, although a great goal line back, isn't worth his 3.59 million price he'll fetch in 2015. It's likely he'll be sent packing at some point, whether in a trade or released. Sankey and McCluster are solid back ups, especially McCluster as a third down back.

Fullbacks
Under Contract | None
Expiring Contract | Jackie Battle
Comments | Nothing against Battle, but expect the Titans to let him walk and shop free agency.

Wide Receivers
Under Contract | Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter
Expiring Contract | Nate Washington, Devin Hester, Allen Hurns
Comments | Wright is a bright spot on the roster and Hunter has the ability to be a talent. Coaches really like what they saw out of Hurns in limited activity and he's expected to stay. Nate Washington will probably be let go along with return man Devin Hester. Free agency and the draft will be key for Tennessee to fill the voids.

Tight Ends
Under Contract | Delanie Walker
Expiring Contract | Jermichael Finley, Darren Fells
Comments | Finley was a slight disappointment as a free agent snag this year. Walker is a staple on the Titans offense, but behind him remains a question mark. There were talks at one point the Titans were looking to the tight end heavy draft for help during the season, we'll see if that holds true.

Offensive Tackles
Under Contract | Taylor Lewan, Michael Oher
Expiring Contract | Michael Roos, Byron Stingily
Comments | Roos and the Titans struggled to come to a contract agreement during the season and it's unlikely that will change now. Sources believe it's now Lewan's time to shine on the left side with Oher holding down the right. Stingily is a solid reserve and the Titans should at least offer him a contract.

Offensive Guards
Under Contract | Andy Levitre, Chance Warmack
Expiring Contract | Al Netter, Adam Snyder
Comments | This is pretty much a lock with Levitre and Warmack essentially a guarantee to stay and start. Netter and Snyder are expendable, but they know the playbook and may be offered new deals.

Center
Under Contract | Brian Schwenke
Expiring Contract | Chris Spencer
Comments | Schwenke is a very serviceable player in the middle. He doesn't do anything exceptionally well, but doesn't do anything overly bad either. He's inexpensive and young. Spencer on the other hand will probably be let go. The Titans may look to free agency to improve here.

Re: We need a miracle... A Music City Miracle (Titans 15 v2)

A Look At The Tennessee Titans
2015 Off-Season
Defense

Defensive Ends
Under Contract | Al Woods, DaQuan Jones, Jurrell Casey
Expiring Contract | Karl Klug
Comments | Woods had a career year in 2014 and Jurrell Casey was quite the force despite the move to defensive end. DaQuan Jones is a raw player, but there's a lot of talent there. Expect Klug to at least be offered a contract, but he's got the talent to start somewhere and will likely go that route. Tennessee may need to look for a replacement for Woods as he may look for a contract next year higher than the Titans want to pay.

Defensive Tackles
Under Contract | Sammie Hill, Antonio Johnson
Expiring Contract | Jerel Worthy
Comments | Hill started as a nose tackle and didn't play too bad. He had constant pressure on the quarterback, but did show signs of struggling at times. Worthy, more a nose tackle type player, looked good in sparing time and should be retained. This is a position of need for Tennessee however.

Outside Linebackers
Under Contract | None
Expiring Contract | Derrick Morgan, Steve Beauharnais, Dontay Moch, Quentin Groves
Comments | Morgan's not coming back. Period. Dontay Moch will probably be offered a long term deal as he was quite impressive when he started following the Ayers trade. Beauharnais looked good when he started for Morgan, but wasn't the player Tennessee hoped for. Either him or Groves will probably not be back, perhaps both. Another key position for the Titans to look at.

Middle Linebackers
Under Contract | Wesley Woodyard, Zach Brown, Avery Williamson
Expiring Contract | Colin McCarthy
Comments | This is pretty well set in stone. Woodyard and Brown were both great last year. Brown is entering a contract year in 2015, so the Titans may look to lock him up early. McCarthy has become expendable and likely will be let go.

Cornerbacks
Under Contract | Jason McCourty, Blidi Wreh-Wilson, Coty Sensabaugh, Marqueston Huff
Expiring Contract | Brandon Harris
Comments | Defensively, this is the biggest need. Harris was okay opposite McCourty, but will likely be looking for starter money that the Titans won't want to give. Wreh-Wilson and Sensabaugh are both talented, but not ready to be a #2 corner at this point. Tennessee should shell out some money in free agency or spend their top ten pick on a corner.

Safeties
Under Contract | Michael Griffin, Bernard Pollard, Daimion Stafford
Expiring Contract | George Wilson
Comments | Pollard and Stafford were both quite impressive in the strong safety slot in 2014. Griffin, however, seems to have lost a step. At 30, Tennessee has two more years with Griffin's current contract. It's likely they'll be searching for his replacement. Pollard enters his contract year in 2015, perhaps the Titans will look for an understudy for the 30 year old in the draft.

Tennessee Resigns Three, Allow Many to Test Free Agency
Nashville TN

Contracts were offered to Jake Locker, Terrelle Pryor, Jerel Worthy, and Steve Beauharnais and all were rejected by the players. A number of these players were offered short, one or two year deals with little signing bonus, almost as a chance to prove themselves one more time. Locker, who said he was looking for roughly two million dollars a year reportedly turned down a two year contract worth just under four million.

However, the Titans did get three players to agree to new deals. Outside linebcker Dontay Moch, who was a force in 2014 after starting in place of Akeem Ayers, agreed to a six year deal worth a minimum of fifteen million dollars with a number of bonus incentives for the young player. Wide receiver Allen Hurns also signed a six year deal worth just under eight million dollars. Finally back up offensive guard Al Netter agreed to a small three year deal to stay with the Titans.

Now the Titans find themselves with just Zach Mettenberger at quarterback and only one outside linebacker currently on the roster. Free agency should be key for Tennessee.

Re: We need a miracle... A Music City Miracle (Titans 15 v2)

Tennessee Announces Major Trade
Nashville TN

The Tennessee Titans announced today they have agreed to with the Arizona Cardinals in a trade. The trade sends the Titans 2015 round 4, 2016 round 4, and 2016 round 5 draft selections. In exchange, the Titans receiver quarterback Logan Thomas. Thomas, 24, was a fourth round pick by the Cardinals in 2014. He was a third string quarterback behind Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton last year. Palmer's retirement and Stanton's released seemed by many fans to mean it would be Thomas' time to shine. That was not the case as the Cardinals agreed to terms with both Ryan Mallett and Kevin Kolb last week.

Thomas, the Virginia Tech player, has incredible size at 6'6 and 250 pounds. He has great speed and a rifle for an arm. Scouts last year believed Thomas was unrefined and would not be starting caliber for years to come. However, Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt has a knack for getting the most out of young quarterbacks. Time will tell if giving up three late picks for the young project will be worth it.

In other news, Tennessee also announced two signings of their own. Prior to the deal being finalized for Thomas, Tennessee agreed to a two year deal with former first round pick Blaine Gabbert. They also agreed to a two year deal with veteran defensive back Antonio Cromartie.

Sources close to the organization say Tennessee has been in contact with center Ryan Kalil and former Packer Randall Cobb. Tennessee also contact Marcell Dareus, but were unable to come to a deal as Dareus signed with Washington on a five year, forty million dollar deal.

Re: We need a miracle... A Music City Miracle (Titans 15 v2)

Titans Land Cobb, Kalil Heads to Washington
Nashville TN

The Tennessee Titans just made a major improvement in their receiver core with the announcement they signed former Packer Randall Cobb. Cobb, 25, turned away larger contract offers from multiple teams to join the Titans. Originally from Alcoa, Tennessee a town less than three hours from Nashville, Cobb wanted the opportunity to play close to home. "It's a dream come true to play in Nashville and play close to my family and friends. It's going to be an exciting season for sure."

Tennessee had also announced interest in center Ryan Kalil. However, Kalil elected to sign with Washington instead. Tennessee did also announce three other signings. Tight end Larry Donnell, linebacker Antwan Barnes, and safety M.D. Jennings.
