Pitts is an absolute monster! I’m a huge fan of the TE position and think they can be a total game changer in the right system. It will be very interesting to see gore you replace his production.

Here is to hoping Texas runs the table!

Pitts is easily responsible for all my wins the past 2 years. Even though he is not highly rated Overall, he has great hands and speed for the position, and with my custom/BSU playbook, the TE gets used especially in multiple TE sets. Last year's backup Jackson had almost 300 yds receiving but he is a Senior as well.

I have AJ Blair a RS Freshman who has gotten a few catches this year including a multiple TD game a couple games ago, but I also have 3 (TE's) on my target list and have already landed 1 who will have a legit shot at starting Day 1 next year.

As far as Texas goes. They have a 5 win Texas Tech in rivalry week in the regular season. I don't see them losing that. Even though TCU lost to TAMU, they are 4-0 in their Division. Unless Rice manages to beat them in Week 14 they should play who Texas plays in the Big 12 title game. If Texas manages to beat TCU then there is a good chance we could see a rematch of Texas vs TAMU in the National Title game. TAMU still has (7-3) Arkansas in Week 14, but other then that the biggest challenge they face is just not getting jumped by Alabama in the polls. The Tide play @ #24 Georgia Week 13 and then most likely a 5 win FSU team in the SEC title game.

PANTHERS ARE GOING BOWLING!!!

For the 1st time in school history the Georgia State Panthers are are bowl eligible after finishing the 2014 season with a 6-6 record.

GSU lost to LSU 45-21 in Week 13 but beat South Alabama in Week 14 44-17

With Conference Championship games still to be played, no bowl invites are official, but right now the Panthers are looking at a matchup in the Liberty Bowl vs the Indiana Hoosiers who finished the 10-2 and 8-1 in CUSA play but lost their chance at a Orange Bowl bid losing their head to head matchup with Iowa who will take on Eastern Michigan in the CUSA Championship.

Georgia State however will have to do it without one of their key players as Freshman RB/KR Eugune Muhammad has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after being hurt in the Panthers loss to LSU in Week 13. Despite his injury Muhammad is still a front runner for the "Best Returnman" this season with 54 kickoff returns for 1487 yds (27.5 avg) and 26 punt returns for 223 yds (8.6 avg). Muhammad also finished the season with 183 carries for 734 yds (4.0 avg) with 12 rushing TD's finishing the year just shy of 2500 All-Purpose yds.

The Panthers will most likely turn to SR FB Derrek Griffin who exploded for 152 yds on 37 carries (4.1 avg) well scoring 1 TD in the Panthers Week 14 win over South Alabama and will of course lean heavily on a passing attack led by JR QB J. Foster and SR TE L. Pitts which finished the regular season #1 in the nation.

Despite a 35/27 TD to INT ratio, JR John Foster has had a record setting year, finishing as the nation's leading yds passer with 4314 on 286 of 486 attempts. Foster also finished 2nd on the team in rushing with 84 carries for 323 yds and 6 more scores. Foster also now owns all 6 of GSU's school records including TD's and Passing yds in a career which he will be able to add to next season as a Senior.

For TE Leon Pitts the past 2 seasons have been like no other. Named to the All-American team, Pitts is a lock to win the Mackey Award for the "Best TE/" in the nation. He broke all of GSU's receiving records as a Junior and then went out and beat them again as a Senior finishing the regular season with 108 rec (new record), 1647 yds (new record) and 15 TD's (new record). His also holds the record for most career TD's (26), TD's in a game (4), Career yds (3094), Yds in a Game (245), Rec in a Career (202) and Receptions in a game (17).

PANTHERS SAY GOODBYE TO 15 SENIORS

The Georgia State Panthers win on Senior Day over the Jaguars of South Alabama, will extend these young men's season 1 more game.

For Derek Griffin it most likely means 1 more chance to start at HB where he ran wild last week. For the season Griffin now has 57 carries for 232 yds (4.0 Avg) with 3 TD's.

Joining Pitts for 1 more game will be WR's Jordan Rodgers and Loren Malone.. Both players have played key roles at times this season in the Panthers #1 Passing attack. After just 17 catches as a JR, Malone has 33 rec this season for 698 yds and 2 TD's. For Rodgers, well his rec #'s are down from last season (27 to 39) he has doubled his TD output scoring 6 times this year, including twice against USA with 6 rec for 70 yds and 2 TD's.

Also playing his last game in a Panther uniform will be RB/WR Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds saw limited action as a Junior, but has carved out a role as the #5 WR and had a career night vs the Jag's in his Senior night finishing with 3 rec for 31 yds and 2 TD's.

Well JR DE Paul Arnold has grabbed some National media attention with a Junior campaign of 68 Tackles, 23 TFL and 10 Sacks, becoming a finalist for Lombardi award, fellow DE SR Chris Mitchell has had a solid final year for GSU. Mitchell is 5th on the team with 59 Tackles, 2nd on the team with 16 TFL and also 2nd on the team with 6 sacks. Joining both him playing his last game as a Panther will be DT Trevor Manning. Manning rounds out the Trio of Terror finishing the season 3rd on the team with 9 TFL and tying Mitchell for 2nd in the team in sacks with 6.0

PANTHERS LAND 18 IN-SEASON RECRUITS !!

For Coach Vader and his staff, the Recruiting season is over. Georgia State started the year with 18 scholarships to hand out and after the Panthers win over South Alabama in Week 14, they received their final 2 commitments of the 2014 season.

Athlete Brad Bell signed in Week 13, despite the Panthers loss to LSU. The 4* from Hawaii will be joining his best friend and former teammate Eugene Muhammad next year in Atlanta.

Vader "Right now the plan for Bell is to play CB. At 6'0 174 lbs he will need to gain a little weight to be able to help on some of the bigger WR's he will face but we love his coverage skills (88 Man, 84 Zone, 80 Press).

Joining Bell next season are a pair of 4* Offensive weapons. The question is will either see playing time as True Freshman?

4* QB Chris Smith from Wade Hampton South Carolina was the #3 QB Recruit in the nation, and despite the fact that John Foster would be returning for his Senior season and the fact the Panthers already have 2 QB's who transfered in this past off-season, Smith made it very clear he wanted to be in Atlanta.

Vader
Quote:
"Let's face it, Smith's off the field probelms have to be the reason for his lack of recruitment. I know for a fact Georgia, Alabama, LSU and FSU were all scouting him and talking to him about walkon possibilities, but the fact we offered a scholarship and the fact he could potentially be a 3 year starter for us, I think gave us the leg up. Smith doesn't have the strongest of arms (83) but he is very accurate (95) and Overall (81) could be the best QB to have ever played QB for GSU by the time he graduates"
Joining Smith in a future backfield is 4* Athlete John Washington a 5'11 218lb tri-athlete from Bel Air North MD.

Like Smith, Washington had zero scholarship offers from big time programs, despite Georgia,Texas,FSU, and Alabama all taking a look.

At 5'11 with 89 TPH and 77 THA, most teams don't see him as a QB at least not at the NFL level. However his 95 Speed rating, 96 Acceleration and 92 Agility and 89 Return Abilities leave GSU believing he is a clone of their current starting HB/KR Eugene Muhammad.

Vader"
Quote:
If we lined up both players and had them race, I honestly don't know if I could tell you who would win. Washington has a little more weight on him and is a inch smaller, but both players have that type of homerun running abilities that coaches love and Defenses have nightmares about. It's not a lock that Washington will end up in the backfield cause to be honest with Castillo transferring in as well as 3* CJ Edwards (#35 HB) plus the fact we already have Muhammad and Jones, there is a good chance Washington could see a position move to the Defense where he has been 3 year starter at FS on his high team. "

Re: A New Era of College Football-NCAA14

Conference Championship Week means alot to the 16 teams playing but it means the most to #1 Texas and #3 Alabama

The Longhorns enter the Big 12 Title game as the only undefeated team in the nation. A win over #13 (10-2) TCU will mean a automatic invite to the National Championship Game.

For (11-1) Alabama a SEC Title over #13 (9-3) Florida could be just enough to convince voters to move them past #2 (11-1) Texas A&M who has to just sit back and hope they get a chance to get revenge on their (38-35) loss to the Longhorns.

#4 (11-1) Virginia Tech will be looking for their 2nd straight ACC title and trip to the Sugar Bowl, if they can beat #10 (10-2) South Carolina

Like #2 TAMU, #5 (11-1) Washington and #6 (11-1) Louisville will just have to sit back and watch. Best case for them the Tide and Hokies lose and both teams move up with Washington most likely going to the Fiesta Bowl and Louisville playing the winner of CUSA in the Orange Bowl.

For #7 Ohio State a 3 loss season (9-3) was nothing they expected after a National title last year. But a win over #19 (9-3) Oklahoma would give the Bucks a 10 win season and a trip to the Fiesta Bowl with that potential matchup with Washington.

#8 Oregon will take their (11-1) record and hopes for a Rose Bowl bid up against in the Mountain West Title game.

#9 UCLA also finishing the year (11-1) will look to earn the other spot and ca chance at a showdown with the Ducks if they can take care of business against a (5-7) San Diego State team in the Pac-12 title, after beating #15 USC (52-23) in rivalry week

#11 UL Lafayette will always wonder what could've been had they beat UAB and finished a perfect 12-0. Instead the Ragin Cajuns are most likely looking at a somewhat home gave in the New Orleans Bowl vs (7-5) Purdue

The CUSA Title game will be (9-3) Iowa vs (7-5) Eastern Michigan. Neither team is currently ranked in the Top-25, but the winner does get a auto-matic bid to the Orange bowl, so the game is worth a watch.

For #23 (11-1) UConn a Mac Championship is probably the icing on the cake for their great season should they get past (8-4) Ohio. Current Bowl projections have the Huskies taking on (8-4) La Tech in the Go Daddy.com Bowl.

Re: A New Era of College Football-NCAA14

Thank you. We are still 1-8 vs teams in the Top-25, so I am not sure how much I like our chances against Indiana in the Bowl game, but just winning 6 games is a huge stepping stone for the program, and was a huge boost in our in-season recruiting. Both Smith and Washington were on the sidelines during our win over South Alabama. Smith has me super excited for the 2016 season..

TEXAS FALLS IN BIG 12 TITLE GAME!!!

The 12 game win streak and reign in the #1 spot in the Polls is over for the Longhorns as they fall 35-14 to TCU in the Big 12 title game.

Not only did the loss keep them from a National Title rematch game vs instate rival Texas A&M,but the loss actually drops Texas to #5 in the Poll's and out of all the BCS Bowls all together as the Sugar Bowl announces they will take #3 Washington for the At-large Bid.

Texas (12-1) instead will have to settle for a trip to the Cotton Bowl where they will face off against #17 (8-4) LSU.

With Texas out, it's Alabama jumping up to the #1 spot in the Poll's after a (35-20) win over Florida in the SEC Championship, as the Tide will take on their former SEC rival Aggies as they look take home the National Title.

With the Big 12 title in hand, TCU will travel to face #7 Ohio State who after 3 early season loss's has won 10 straight including a (42-16) win over Oklahoma to win the Big Ten title game in a Fiesta Bowl matchup

The Oregon Ducks and UCLA Bruins know each other ever well from their days battling for a chance to play in the Rose Bowl, now instead both teams will meet there for a chance to win it.

Oregon cruised in a (48-13) win over Utah State to win the Mountain West, well UCLA downed San Diego State (48-24) to win the Pac-12 title.

For a 2nd straight year we will see #25 (10-3) Iowa vs #14 (9-3) Ole Miss in a Orange Bowl matchup. Ole Miss was the American Conference Champ after winning the title in the regular season, well Iowa defeated Eastern Michigan (17-3) to win the CUSA title.

Last year Ole Miss won the matchup 20-6...

Virginia Tech fails to repeat as ACC Champs and will miss out on a chance of repeating as Sugar Bowl Champs as they fall (35-14) to South Carolina.

Instead its the (11-2) Gamecockzzz looking to end their season on a sweet note with a win over #3 (11-1) Washington in the Sugar Bowl.

God damn it TCU is always a thorn in Texas’ side! A Texas/Texas A&M National tittle game would have been crazy!
