Yeah those are the only two on the roster right now. Patterson actually came in for a couple plays a game or two ago, he has good speed. Didn’t get to throw a pass but he seems like a decent option if Trubisky either gets hurt or goes down a slippery slope. Thanks for checking in johnstone!

Week 10, 2020 - Panthers @ Bears

In a battle at the top of the NFC, it was the Carolina Panthers taking down the Chicago Bears 31-14 behind key defensive plays.

In the second quarter, linebacker Luke Kuechly forced a fumble and returned it inside enemy territory, leading to a Panthers touchdown to make it 10-0 in favor of Carolina.

The Panthers defense continued to shut down the Bears to open the second half as they forced back to back three and outs. They took advantage as Cam Newton scored two touchdowns to increase their lead to 24-7.

On the ensuing drive Mitchell Trubisky connected with Taylor Gabriel for a 75-yard touchdown pass to breathe life into their team.

Unfortunately it would be short lived as Luke Kuechly would force his second forced fumble of the game to end any hope of a comeback.

Week 11, 2020 - Vikings @ Bears

The Chicago Bears got back to their winning ways, shutting down the Minnesota Vikings in an 18-10 win at home on Sunday afternoon.

The Bears held the Vikings to 246 yards of offense, forced 2 turnovers, and completely shut down Kirk Cousins. He finished the game completing just 11-of-22 passes for 131 yards and an interception.

Chicago could have pulled away easily but couldn’t take advantage. They scored one touchdown in four trips to the red zone. However, rookie kicker Tyler Bass converted on all three of his field goal attempts, bringing him to 19-of-21 this season, good for 90% and second in the NFL in field goal percentage.

Despite the dominating performance the Vikings still had a shot to tie the game on their final possession. But linebacker Roquan Smith forced a fumble to end their comeback hopes.

The win improves the Bears to 7-3 on the year as they sweep the Vikings for the season. Minnesota drops to 2-8.

2020 Chicago Bears Regular Season Recap

After their 18-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears went on to win five of their final six games to clinch the NFC’s #1 seed and a first round bye in the playoffs. They finished the season 12-4, which tied them with the Raiders, Chiefs, and Browns for the NFL’s best record.

During their six game winning streak, the Bears were playing their best football of the year.

On offense they averaged 28.8 points per game, 434 yards per game, their rushing attack ranked 1st in the NFL with nearly 200 yards per contest, they swept the season series against the Packers, and Mitchell Trubisky recorded his first career game with 4 passing touchdowns.

On defense, they allowed an NFL best 16.5 points per game, recorded 17 sacks, and forced 7 turnovers.

In their week 12 win over the Buccaneers, both David Montgomery and Tarik Cohen eclipsed the century mark. Montgomery finished with 182 yards and a touchdown while Cohen recorded 128 yards and a score of his own.

The following week Trubisky completed just 13 passes but finished with 222 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 45-23 win over the Giants. Three of those touchdowns went to wide receiver Allen Robinson II.

The Bears then dominated the Packers at Soldier Field with a 15 point win, snuck by the Rams 20-17, then completed the season sweep over the Packers with a 30-16 win at Lambeau Field. The win streak was snapped in week 17 as the Texans recorded four interceptions and held the Bears to just 10 points on a snowy Sunday.
