That's not a completely bad trade, as you recieved a 99 potential CF in Springer, and a A potential pitcher in Appel, who is one of the better prospects. But you lost out on a guy who could be the best player in the game in the near future. I don't see the Twins competing anytime soon unless you trade all your prospects and build the team fron the bottom up. I would just be patient, because the Sano/Buxton duo will be one to be reckoned with.

This is actually a perfect fit. Lavarnway probably carries more value than Patton which is offset by the inter-division up-charge so to speak.Comment

Didi from AZ has decent speed i believe, but i would look at Dee Gordon. He is 25 and should have close to 99 speed/base stealing.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Looking to start making some trades in my Cubs franchise. My guys have been playing above their heads for the most part and I'm still 28-33 and 6.5 GB of the 2nd wildcard. I don't expect to be over .500 at any point as my offense just can't sustain production. I'm looking to move some veterans to pave the way for my youngsters that are playing well.
First piece is Jason Hammel. He's currently 3-5 with a 4.00 ERA. I think he would be a decent fit with the A's, especially with their starters struggling (Straily, Chavez and Milone all have 4.5+ ERAs). I figure he can replace Chavez (5.76 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, .337 BIPA/.294 BAA) in the rotation. The A's are currently 35-27, 4.5 GB of the division and .5 games up in the 2nd WC spot. My trade proposal is Hammel for SP Drew Pomeranz, who is in AAA. Pomeranz is a bit in the Jake Arrieta mold in my mind, and could turn into a decent back of the rotation piece. Hammel has a 1 year contract worth $2.3M. Another option in this trade is Edwin Jackson, instead of Hammel. Jackson's contract isn't nearly as bad in the game as it is in real life as he's got 3 years left at $2.3M per.
Next piece is Justin Ruggiano. He started out the year on fire, but has regressed back and is now hitting .273 with 5 HRs and 24 RBI. Moving Ruggiano would put Lake in my starting lineup for the season, or give Brett Jackson another chance to make it. Lake was horrible the first 30 games of the season, and I ended up demoting him to AAA two weeks ago to get him some regular ABs, where he's performing much better. I'm a huge Al Albuquerque fan, and I figure Ruggiano can platoon in LF or even take over for the season over Rajai Davis/Andy Dirks.
Last piece is Jose Veras. Veras has actually been pretty lights out for me with 13 saves in 14 chances. He's not getting a lot of opportunities to pitch, despite my 28 wins. Moving Veras would allow me to move Pedro Strop into the closer role (0.81 ERA in 22.1 IP) and call up Vizcaino or Ramirez. I could put Veras in the Ruggiano trade to Detroit, as they could use bullpen help (especially if I ask for Albuquerque in a deal). I would probably just look to add a C POT minor leaguer if I did a Ruggiano+Veras for Albuquerque deal.
Let me know any thoughts or anything I'm missing. These aren't huge trades, but any advice is appreciated.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Samardzija has been discussed quite a lot over the last week in this thread. If you go back a couple of pages, you'll find a lot of different suggestions on deals.
Don't know if you can take on the contract but Olt for Papelbon would workFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
He can help any team in contention by replacing a 4th or 5th starter and helping them get into the playoffs but after that his work is done since he won't be starting in the playoffs. So I would look for maybe a High C plus a Mid C or so.
