Taveras is a Cardinal unless Stanton is going to STL. Maybe not even then to be honest.

Taveras is a Cardinal until Arte Moreno signs him to a 10 year $400M contract in the year 2022.

Phillies Get: Matt Wisler(2-2,5.56 in AAA)73-B

Padres are 47-38(2.5 games back in division and wild card) in early July
        Phillies are 34-51(12 gb)

Who should I add/subtract or should I just let it go thru? Thanks.
That looks pretty even to me. It's not realistic, but it is fair.

It's just that my outfield's getting crowded with Grichuk and Piscotty coming up as well, and if I have to offload someone it's Jay, and shortstop is a need with Peralta's lousy average. If he was a gold glover I'd put up with it, but no.
Or maybe I could flip Jay for a starter and just endure Peralta? Maybe he'll break out of the permanent slump he's been in. Or then just call up Kozma (or sign Drew). If I can't have a bat I'll take Kozma's defense over Peralta's.

Not sure if this helps, but in my Padre's Franchise, Jay is someone who I'll be looking at to maybe swing a trade with in the offseason, and Everth Cabrera is someone who might match up nicely. It's no guarantee, but Jace Peterson is playing really nice at SS in a limited role, so he (Everth) might be expendable.

I could envision Jay as a nice 4th OF option, and filling in when an OF lands on the DL - which seems to happen quite a bit with Maybin and Quentin. It also helps Jay is under team control for a couple more years after the 2014 season. Just throwing that out there for you, as maybe to look at Everth C. - as he won't cost much, and can possibly be an upgrade over Peralta.

I really like Cabrera, and would definitely try to get him if there's a chance that the Padres go for it. I'm assuming it's just Jay for Cabrera with no additional pieces?

Ok new here. Question. I am about 20 games into my franchise with the dodgers. Ramirez, Gonzalez and Ethier and Kemp are killing it. Hell even Crawford is. But Ellis is just a flat out waste of space. I need a new catcher bad and that team would be sick. Any suggestions on who I should look at without giving up too much? ( off subject but I feel like I am hitting too many homeruns. Any suggestions on sliders?)

I had a Dodgers franchise & couldn't hit with Ellis either. Came on here & Jason Castro was suggested, as well as Francisco Cervelli, Ryan Lavarnway & others but I forget

Yankees have catching depth, Cervelli would make a ton of sense.

I am not sure yet. I like Everth as well. But, if I did add any other pieces, then Mike O'Neill, LF, really stands out (have you seen how contact #'s? Awesome.), as well as Kozma for backup SS purposes. I enjoy Amarista's versatility, but I like Kozma's glove a bit better when I have guys like Roach on the mound.

I haven't looked over STL's contract situations, and it's hard to find a hole on their roster, but maybe they could maybe use a reliable-proven bullpen arm (?), and the Padres have a few of those.

                      Maybe something like:
                      Everth C. + bullpen arm/prospect for Jay + Kozma?

I haven't checked the spreadsheet, and I am not very good at coming up with trades TBH. This could be lopsided, IDK, but it's something I would feel comfortable with - especially if I end up trading Maybin to BOS.

P.S - MLB Draft starts tonight!

Well I am hoping for a guy that could possibly take over long term behind the plate. Maybe I am being too picky. What would be a fair package for a guy like Cervelli?

I think I'm going to go after Andre Ethier, he's got 1 hit in 12 at bats 20 games into the season. Kemp's doing much better so I figure IRL with these numbers Ethier would be the odd man out. I'd love to get Dee Gordon and put him at SS for my Red Sox, but can't see that being possible in any realistic deal.

What do you guys think it would take to get Ethier to Boston?

Baltimore just put Cruz (.306 3hr 10rbi), Jimenez (1-3 7.06), and Hundley (.437 1hr 5rbi) on the block... 20 games in... what the heck?

Would the Cards do Shelby Miller, Piscotty, and Adams for CarGo then? I don't know if that's worth it from the Rockies end though. It's definitely pretty close, maybe add another B prospect?

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

I'm the Phillies at the deadline, 50-59. I've decided to trade Cliff Lee (10-6, 2.35 ERA, 132 K) and Jonathan Papelbon (23 SV, 3.60 ERA, 29 K). I looked at the spreadsheet and came up with a few trade ideas, here they are:

Lee to the Blue Jays for Marcus Stroman, Mitch Nay, and Dwight Smith Jr.

Lee to the Orioles for Hunter Harvey and Kevin Gausman

Lee to the Reds for Robert Stephenson, Phil Ervin, and Jessee Winker

Lee to the Dodgers for Joc Pederson, Zach Lee, and Corey Seager

Which one would be the fairest/most realistic? All of the above teams are still in contention. As for Papelbon, here are my two options:

Papelbon to the Angels for Mike Morin

Papelbon to the Padres for Joe Ross **Huston Street is out for the year

                                Any thoughts?
