You are going to need to add one of Taveras or Miller or Wacha for Baez.

Twins actually could use a catcher. With Mauer at 1B, everything is contingent on journeyman Suzuki and offensive-minded Pinto. Pinto is flaming out hard in real life. Behind him, they got nothing.

This is one of the reasons I was asking about Murphy from NYY.

Corner INF prospect. Maybe low B value give or take a half letter grade.
Taveras > Baez. Some consider Taveras to be a generational, HOF type player. Baez's floor is Jose Valentin. Cardinals would never include Taveras for Baez.

      Taveras is not a HOFer

Wacha + Grichuk for Baez? idk

I'm not saying Taveras for Baez straight up is fair, but I am just saying that nickel and diming the Cubs for their Top prospect is not going to work. Why accept 3 pennies for one nickel?

Taveras has a much higher floor than Baez, but Baez has generational bat speed and instincts. If he can refine his approach at AAA (under the tutelage of Manny Ramirez, lol), he can be the most destructive middle infielder on offense since pre-roid A-Rod.

The Cubs trading Baez for anyone is so far out of the realm of possibility my brain cannot envision any possible scenario. "The tutelage of Manny Ramirez" is just funny to read. But seriously, Taveras is as "can't miss" as they come. When I hear Baez comparisons Ive heard as high as A-Rod and as low as Jose Valentin depending on who you subscribe to. Thats a massive scale. Whereas, with Taveras, I have heard, HOF/superstar type potential. Cant wait to have this discussion in 15 years.

            Taveras can bust too

And scouting by what you hear generally isn't effective

Wacha+ for Baez is probably fair @ the OP

Why is it that Taveras is impervious to busting whereas Baez is a huge bust candidate? Is it cause of comparisons you've 'heard?' Or read on BR?

Im sorry, I forgot, you're the only one here allowed to have an opinion. Never did I say that Taveras was impervious to busting, all players are. I don't have time to pour over tons of data on a website which you condescendingly linked in a post to me, remember that? I can only go off what I read and hear, from qualified professionals. Please, list your credentials that makes you the authority on all things baseball, did you hold a scouting position with a MLB club? Perhaps you were GM for a major league club? Im referring to real life, not a video game in case you are unable or unwilling to read between the lines.

Jesus. I wasn't aware posting links was condescending. I don't understand how it can be fun to come into the thread, be rude and dismissive, build strawmans the point things are blown out of proportion, and then ignore the majority of what I say.

                      You do you, bruh.

"Ugh" prefacing a link is condescending. Got it? "Bruh". If I've been rude and dismissive, I apologize, as I don't feel that I was. Just seems to me, that anyone that doesn't agree with you is "rude and dismissive" everyone is entitled to an opinion.

If anyone seems unable to have an opinion, it seems like me.

I don't disagree with.. well, anyone in this thread. Just ask WTNY. But when have I EVER tried to deny someone the right to an opinion? Arguing isn't saying that you can't have an opinion. I use stats and data to back up what I see and I try and make my thought process clear in order to have civil discussions and I get "you're condescending and have no credentials and you're trying to be the de-facto expert of this board," along with being accused of partiality, having my thoughts dismissed and so on.

So yeah, I wouldn't really say I deny anyone the right to an opinion.

Didn't really mean to start any debates with the question... the realism side of my brain took over and I'm not pursuing Baez anymore.

But I have another, although tons more realistic question. I am looking for a reliever and I am a week away from the deadline. I was wondering what a fair trade for Bastardo, Strop, or Sergio Santos would be. All of the teams for the players I mentioned are way out of the race. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
