Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Finally started up my Yankees chise and have decided to play every game (spring training, regular season + minor league games) all on quick counts. I might play the playoffs normally, found it easier to strike people out and walk more while hitting with quick counts. Do hate that sometimes the pitcher gets on a 2 strike run of 9 batters, but that is neither here nor there.

I'm almost done with Spring Training and my bullpen looks eh thus far, I'm looking to get a couple new relievers. I've decided to keep Nova and trade him later on for Altuve or some prospects.

Here are a couple trades I've come up with

    KC get SP D. Phelps (1-1 1.22)
    NYY get RP K. Herrera (0-3 7.21)

SF get RP M. Montgomery (0-0 0.00) or RP D. Betances
    NYY get RP J. Lopez (1-0 2.07)

These are all minor league numbers so they mean practically nothing but KC's pitching staff is eh and Herrera is struggling this spring. Phelps could slot as their 3 or 4 as they wait for the younger arms.

The Giants one, well I like submarine-esque pitchers and am doing well with Lopez in my online franchise. Would these make sense?

I believe Herrera would cost you a bit more than Phelps because of his upside. Crazy idea but Ichiro for Herrera? Aoki slides from RF>CF and Ichiro goes to RF in KC?

The Lopez deal is fine IMO

I don't think KC could take Ichiro's salary but I'll check that out. Pretty sure they'll want more than Ichiro though. I'm saving him til later in June/July to trade him back to the M's if they're in contention. I thought Phelps slid in nicely since there SP is awful behind Shields. What if it's Phelps + Whitley? Going off of the chart it says Herrera is a high C so 2 C's could work? I could add another C if more is needed.

          Thanks for the help cheers.

                A question about the chart...

The value given to Cliff Lee, for example is Mid-A, High-B, Low-B. Is that only meant to be what it would take in prospects to get him?

Or does he also represent those three things - Mid-A, High-B and Low-B in a deal if you're sending him out, say in a one-for-one trade for, like, Ryan Braun? This may be semantics, but I'm clearly confused.

It isn't a bad trade if Lo-Cain and Dyson are playing badly/injured

A middle infielder would work better though, David Adams for example

Not my brighest moment giving input today, I agree. Should probably sign off and call it a night

My thinking was that Ichiro would be a leader for a young and talented Royals team.

haha.....echoing what AC said, I would think a 2B would be more of a pressing need or maybe a back-end starter

Sadly David Adams is now with the Orioles. If a middle infielder is what they need I could send 2B Anna (27, 64), Katoh (19, 57) or Sizemore (29, 71). All low C's in that order. Add them to Phelps (mid C) for Herrera?

didn't see the post up there, will check those out.

                              Two packages:

                              Dean Anna + David Phelps
