Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Any thoughts on my Cincy franchise as I want to lock down Cueto, but feel I have to move Latos because we can't afford both. Any suggestions? What if signatures didn't mean anything?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I like the idea of Lee going to Texas based around a package of Odor and Alfaro. Would give you solid prospects at 2B and C. Should probably aim for a near ready prospect arm like Nick Martinez as well to get some depth in AAA for the 2015 season/September callup.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Boston could offer up a package starting with Mookie Betts (2B) and Garin Cecchini (3B). Or you could probably get Middlebrooks instead of Cecchini as well.
Add either one of the C prospects Blake Swihart or Christian Vasquez to the deal along with Betts, Cecchini/Middlebrooks.
The Mariners could offer you something based around DJ Peterson (3B) and Nick Franklin (2B) plus nice pitchingFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Darn, haha the more I thought about it, the more excited I got about Pederson. Odor would still be nice though as Utley is struggling, and his vesting options aren't really an issue in the game. I'd probably want some pitching rather than Alfaro, mainly just because I traded for him last year in the cliff lee deal to Texas and it would be nice to mix things up, maybe by not even sending him to Texas, but if they're the more realistic option id go with them. Plus, I don't really want Alfaro as I see him as more of a lengthy project than a ready prospect to contribute. Do you think the Texas deal is more fair and realistic then?Comment

Alright I'm doing a Phillies franchise and I'd like to get a quality 3rd baseman, I'm not sold on Ashe. I'm willing to trade anybody except Utley, Brown, and Revere. Any suggestions?Arizona/St. Louis/Boston/MizzouComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Maybe a stupid question, and probably one that's already been answered, but I'd like to hear from Totte and others about how they use the trade value spreadsheet in franchise mode. I think it's a great resource, especially when I'm trying to buy player from other teams with my prospects - it's a nice guide to know what is fair to pay.
But things are a little more murky when it's two computer teams (I'm controlling all trades) dealing between one another, and instead of sending two high B players for, say, JJ Hoover, the Athletics are trying to send one low A player. And then I'm also curious about how seasons of progression should change the cost for all of these guys, and any other factors that change things.
In general, I'm looking for some hard and fast rules to play by to keep things fair and realistic across the league. Maybe there are no hard and fast rules, but I'm interested to hear how everyone polices their leagues.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Darn, like I said earlier Pederson was really intriguing, and I already did a Texas deal with Lee last year, but if people think it's the best option like you said I might have to do that one, although getting Odor would be great. For latos, I guess it depends where you are in the season and who would be willing to give up something for him. I think he's worth a high and low b or so, but I'd check the spreadsheet. Maybe look for some younger and cheaper pitching options or a catcher / SS to fill some needs depending in how cozart and mesoraco are doing. That's how I see it personally, but it's up to you. Betts could be a nice return though!Comment

I'm a big fan of Pederson as well and the Dodgers are a really nice fit as well. Pederson and Lee as a starting point?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Valencia or something? He wouldn't give you huge production but he'd be a cheap option to use while
Franco was still in the minors. If you're looking to contend right away and are willing to part with some pieces, chase headley might be a nice option as he's still in the age of his prime and could continue to contribute for several years into the future as well. Might cost you some solid prospects, but if you're looking to contend he might be a nice option also. Valencia would be more of a plug in until Franco is ready and if you know you're out of the race.Last edited by bwoodring9; 05-22-2014, 10:55 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Started a Cardinals franchise and have been wanting to get Stanton on the team and I wanted to see what you guys thought about what would be good to give up for him. Now I've played around with deals that the Marlins would take in a trade and one is Matt Adams, A potential 3B, and A potential SS or replace one of those prospects for Jay. Another one they will take is Shelby Miller straight up but I would of course throw in one of those A potential prospects. What do you think is a fair and reasonable trade?
Side note:
If Adams leaves that moves Allen Craig back to 1st but if Miller gets traded that leaves Adams at 1st and Craig moved to 2B since Matt Carpenter plays 3B.What's with this chick? Does she have beer flavored nipples?Comment
