Eh no to Nova or Mason. They don't really need Gary. It would have to be Ellsbury that goes the other way. Don't think they'll be able to handle the budget hit.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I lost Brian Roberts for 3 months to injury. He was hitting .270ish and was doing what I needed from him.
I can't, and won't get the production back from Johnson or Ryan and Dean Anna isn't exactly the guy who will keep my team afloat. I don't mind continuing to rotate these guys but feel like I may need an every day player.
Anyone got names of people I should target? I don't mind parting with just about anyone outside of Tanaka. I can list stats if you need them also.5Comment

Thanks. I'll take a look at them and then toss out suggestions. I don't do 30 team but don't want to burn the CPU.5Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Well, I typically only make one trade per season, and I have narrowed down the four individuals I am targeting in my Rays Franchise:
OF - Jackie Bradley Jr.
OF - Ben Revere (talked about this before on this thread)
3B - Will Middlebrooks
SS - Didi Gregorius
I am always 100% for realism. Does anyone think the Rays have any ammunition in terms of prospects or players to get a trade done for any of these players? Would any of these players be traded to begin with (besides Revere)?
Discussed before a trade involving Revere for Odorizzi + OF (maybe Toles of Mahtook), and I might do that. Revere is a really limited player, as much as I like him: not a very good arm, takes awful angles on D, doesn't walk a whole lot, but still hits for a decent clip, but I think he would be a good 4th OF/spot starter in my Rays Franchise.
So, before I trade for Revere, I'd like to possibly take a stab at these other 3 first. Help needed!

Didi for:
Toles
Brett
Ciuffo (PTBNL)
Beckham
O'Conner (maybe)
Colome
Romero
One or two of those is fine. Like Colome + O'Conner, or Toles straight up, or Romero straight up, or Brett + Ciuffo. Something like that."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
One last question regarding my pending Cliff Lee to LAD deal. Should I undo the CPU trade where to Dodgers sent Ethier to LAA for Cowart and a reliever (Dane De La Rosa)? It's kinda inconsistent with what the Dodgers would be doing with Lee (buying), whereas Ethier was hitting pretty well, but not as good as Kemp and Puig. Crawford was struggling so he and Ethier kinda split at bats. I'm not sure whether to undo it because I guess I just thought the Dodgers might want a little salary relief, as crazy as that sounds...., by dealing Ethier to get ready for Lee.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Out of sheer curiosity, what do you guys think Middlebrooks could be had for? If I acquired him then I could give Longoria some more time at DH.
Could the Red Sox use someone like Jake McGee (+ prospects)? He is just relief, but he's having a pretty good season.
If I stick to trading just prospects, which ones would be a good fit?Comment
