Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Starting a new dynasty soon to go along my Yanks more realistic one. I have thought of going to the Angels & Nats to try and get Bryce & Trout to play together however neither have the pieces to make it happen. So here's my question would a loaded team like the Cards be able to pull off a trade for both? Even if it means depleting the team to just them 2 and Juan Pierre + Donthrelle Willis + Jason Bay.
Using OSFM v1.
Thanks for the help.
No team has pieces for both.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok just got home and had a chance to look at the Cards roster so here are some options I came up with. Again going for fairness not realism as this would 99.9% never happen.
Angels get SP Adam Wainwright 32 93 A 3 yrs 61.15 M, SP Shelby Miller 23 83 A 1 yr 1.4 M, LF Oscar Taveras 22 82 A 1 yr 90 K, 1B Matt Adams 25 77 C 1 yr 560 K, CF Randall Grichuk 22 71 B 1 yr 80 K, RF Allen Craig 29 81 B 3 yrs 7.69 M and SP/RP Carlos Martinez 22 75 B 1 yr 800 K
Cards get 1B Albert Pujols 34 88 A 7 yrs 71.88 M, CF Mike Trout 22 99 A 5 yrs 12.78 M, LF Raul Ibanez 41 72 A 1 yr 3.02 M
For this one I can interchange Pujols with a combo of Weaver or Wilson plus others so the cap would match.
Angels get SP Michael Wacha 22 84 A 1 yr 1.30 M, LF Oscar Taveras 22 82 A 1 yr 90 K, CF Randall Grichuk 22 71 B 1 yr 80 K, RF Allen Craig 29 81 B 3 yrs 7.69 M, SP Marco Gonzales 22 80 B 1 yr 80 K and 3B Matt Carpenter 28 83 B 5 yrs 5.13 M. Can add Martinez + Wong as well or some other pitchers to help them out.
Cards get CF Mike Trout 22 99 A 5 yrs 12.78 M and LF Raul Ibanez 41 72 A 1 yr 3.02 M
Nationals get SP Shelby Miller 23 83 A 1 yr 1.4 M, SP Alex Reyes 19 66 A 1 yr 90 K, RF Stephen Piscotty 23 77 B 1 yr 80 K, SP Lance Lynn 26 81 B 1 yr 1 M and SP Ian McKinney 18 56 B 1 yr 70 K
Cards get RF Scott Hairston 33 74 C 1.2 M, RP Ross Detwiler 27 71 C 1.3 M and RF Bryce Harper 21 81 A 2 yrs 1.92 M
Only real guy that was rated highly that I didn't add was Rosenthal, would like to keep him or Taveras but I know it's impossible to keep them. Would add Rosenthal if need be. Can also throw Yadier in there instead of Wainwright.
My thought process: Angels need pitching help and Taveras would more than likely help with the loss of Trout. In the first I take Pujols back to take salary back from them and giving them some relief as his salary increases every year after this one. The Bryce one is similar as I give two of the better young pitchers for the Cards in the game as well as Piscotty who would slot in for Bryce. Can replace Lynn with Adams since Lynn would more than likely be the long relief pitcher. Other younger hitters also available.
Again not sure if it's possible to get both and still be fair. If it's not than I'll just go after one. Any input would be appreciated, would rather get these two guys in a fair way rather than doing a fantasy draft.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Need suggestions.
I went ahead and dealt Braun in my Brewers Franchise to Texas for N. Feliz, OF L. Martin, Gallo and Jackson.
Then I dealt M. Estrada to the Mariners for S. Romero, Catcher T. Marlette and OF J. Blash
and signed Jeff Niemann to be my new #5 SP, however Romero and Martin both finished June hitting under .200 and I really need to make a move for a RF as I got nobody in AAA hitting either.
The Brewers farm system is loaded with a bunch of mid level C prospects, any suggestions on who I could move to acquire a MLB OF.
A. Either came to mind but he is Low B High C on the spread sheet and is currently hitting .386 with 9 HR and 35 RBI in 156 AB's.
C Crawford is hitting .270 with 5 HR 27 RBI and 4 SB's with 200 AB's but has the same value via spreadsheet.
Maybe Brock Holt or J. Gomes from Boston? Holt is currently hitting .198 in AAA but maybe a move to Milwaukee will spark him to play like real life
Gomes is hitting .303 with 2 HR's in 36 AB's
Gomes would take a Mid C well Holt is valued at a Low C.
I was thinking maybe D. Gagnon (60/C) Ranked #16 on the Brewers Top-20 and SS Y. Rivera (62/C) Ranked #20 on the Brewers Top-20 or maybe 19 yr old 3B Tucker Neuhaus rated a 43/C on my roster set but is the Brewers #12 ranked prospectComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The only way a young Superstar gets dealt is if the team he's on can no longer afford him. The Arod situation comes to mind in this case but something like that doesn't happen very often.
If Mike Trout was in his contract year, and the Angels were absolutely terrible and needed to completely retool their team then maybe I could see some sort of deal being done. But barring that situation, he won't be playing for any other team unless he elects to become a free agent.
The Same goes for guys like Harper and Fernandez.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm about to hit the crossroads of deciding what I need to do for my Astros franchise.
Year: 2015
Record: 40-42 (9.5 GB in the division...within a few games of a WC spot)
Date: July 2nd
**** is about to get real. Right now I could go either way with regards to trading away a player or two or trying to get another arm/bat for my squad to make a postseason push.#HellaBandz

MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I am in my 4th season with the Astros and got James Shields and Ernesto Frieri on 1 year deals hoping that adding them could possibly help out chances for a wild card. I'm at the deadline now sitting at 20 games under .500 so let's forget that whole wild card idea.
I got offered a trade for Jason Castro that I couldn't turn down so now I am in need of a catcher. I looked around and found Mike Zunino the most interesting.
I hate doing inter division trades but I saw that Seattle is fighting for the division and at least a wild card spot and they need serious pitching help after Felix H had to retire due to injury last year. My trade to them would be:
Hou sends:
SP James Shields (35 yo, 88 ovr)
CP Ernesto Frieri (31 yo, 83 Ovr)
SP Alex White (28 yo, 81 Ovr, B pot)
Sea sends:
C Mike Zunino

As a Mariners fan I would never like the idea of trading Zunino but I guess it would depend on how Hicks, Marlette and Littlewood have developed so far in your Franchise. Really sad that Felix is gone, How is Walker, Paxton and Hultzen doing? Are all 3 in the rotation and is Iwakuma still with the team.
As far as fairness of the trade it's hard to say without stats as well and you didn't list what Zunino is rated and his Overall.Comment

Not on right now but I remember stats from my team.
James Shields is floating around a 3.70 era, White has a 4.20-4.40 on AAA and Frieri has just over a 2.00 era I believe but I can't remember how many saves.
Sorry about not putting Zunino's overall I just hit "reply" and forgot about it. I believe he is rated as a 84 B potential. Not sure of his stats and not sure how the pitchers you mentioned are doing. I know they have a mid to high 70s Ovr catcher right below Zunino though, can't remember his name

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey everyone,
I'm right at the start of july with my cubs chise. Things have gone much better than expected an we currently sit above a struggling division by 1.5 games. I'm thinking about trying to blow off the 'sit and wait rebulding plan' to try and make a huge splash in the trade market, as imo, if the cubs were realistically doing this well halfway through the season, they're one of the few teams with a strong enough farm to make a huge deal happen.
The teams struggling the most are the marlins, twins, sox, m's, phillies and mets. With the reds, pirates, angels and royals also underperforming but within 7 games of the 2nd wc spot.
I'm using a lineup pretty close to the real life cubs, with rizzo in the 3 hole and castro at cleanup. I feel like the biggest hole in my team is a true power hitter to allow me to move starlin to the 2 or 5 spot in the lineup, and I'm willing to package samardzija (2.80 era) and soler (22 yo, B prospect, hitting ~.260 with decent power numbers in triple a) with a couple other guys to make a splash.
The marlins are stuggling and stanton is hittng .208, so it would seem he'd be available but not sure how much help he'd be with those numbers. Anyone else that would would make more sense?Comment
