Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So I am about 25 Games into my dodgers chise. Kemp is doing pretty good .300 Avg 3 Hrs 11 Rbi's. Same with Either .285 Avg 3Hrs 10 RBI. Puig is Puig .385 2Hrs 13 Rbi's. Crawford is the odd man out. He has been hitting decent as a pinch hitter. Usually my go to guy against righties when I take out a pitcher. But I could use some pen help. Any suggestions?Comment

I would hold off, the season is still very young.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If you're only coming to the end of, and not even actually at the end of, the first month, trading simply shouldn't happen imo. Teams just aren't certain enough in player statistics, as they haven't stabilized yet.
Sign the FA to a 1 year, 3 million deal. If you bump up the salary enough they accept for a year.
I will be back with more musings as trades start popping up in transactions, and certainly as I approach the deadline...
Just really felt like a moved needed to be made to keep Team B competitive...
Thanks again!Comment

Thanks AC ... I felt this way also, but I did not realize that you could get the FA to sign 1 yr deals... I am going to go that route ...

I'm guessing the player in question is Grady Sizemore."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Is there any chance on a trade centered around a Sardinas for Ozuna swap, with other pieces included? But, before that, are we sure the Rangers starters are not worth being upgraded?
They've had quite a few really struggle (Ross, Lewis, Scheppers), and some pretty big injuries (Martin Perez - out until mid-2015 + Harrison is a huge question mark at this point. Holland as well, but he should be back soon).
(Just trying to play "devil's advocate", as I really like Elvis and think he would be a great fit. But, I really like hearing feedback from the others, as it makes me feel like I am having a conversation with personnel from the other club, haha.)Comment

Sizemore was hit with the 3-month injury, and I was planning on moving Dexter Fowler from Houston to Boston as they will not win this season anyway ... I don't see Dexter as a part of their future personally anyway ...
I settled on signing Franklin Gutierrez to a 1-yr, 2 mill deal to platoon in the outfield with Ryan Roberts ... We will see if Boston continue to play well over next 2-3 months ...Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Anyone know what kind of package I can get for Jason Hammel, Francisco Cervelli, and Didi Gregorius (Brendan Ryan accepted the QO after I traded away John Ryan Murphy. D'oh!) ? In my chise, it's the 2014 offseason and there were virtually no trades the previous year so all the rosters are mostly the same besides the FAs from last year switching teams.
I currently play with the Yankees in my chise. I'd like to get a solid 1B/SP prospect combo in return as Teix (age 35) is on borrowed time at 1B.Last edited by DJeterFan2; 06-25-2014, 04:19 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Well I'm pretty unwilling to give up castro, baez, or bryant but I have some pretty strong B rated arms I'd include in the right deal. While cuddyer certain can fill the role of the middle of the lineup guy, I'd probably overpay just a bit for someone with more than a couple years left in the tank.
So if I were to package something like, samardzija, soler (22 yo B pot OF), almora (19 yo B pot OF), hendrinks (24 yo B pot SP), Corey black (22 yo B pot SP), and dillon maples (21 yo B pot Sp), would that be a fair deal for a top tier guy like CarGo or Stanton or should I set my sights a little lower and go after someone like Trumbo considering I don't want to give up my A pot guys?Comment

Stanton would require High A, Low A, Low A, High B and Mid B. So no on that one.
Cargo would need Mid A, Low A, High B and Low B. No on that one.
Trumbo would be a Mid B and High C. You could definitely do that one though.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
One other deal I was possibly looking at was Cespedes from the A's. I think I may have to give up Castro from this one but as Cespedes is one of my favorite players id maybe do it. They already have an A pot SS prospect but he can also play 3rd and they could move Donaldson via trade when Russell is ready to get called up. I also feel however that a small ballpark like wrigley could be a waste of Yoenis' great range and arm strength especially since I'd have to give up way more to get him and Trumbo could theortically put up big number at Wrigley for a much softer asking price. What's the smarter way to go here?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
New to the thread. I dont do 30 team control though
But I do have a Marlins franchise (with OSFM v2) in 2015 and just starting a Mariners franchise (OSFM v3 w/ pitch edits) today.
I'll be back with questions.
Oh! And I downloaded the excel spreadsheet. Thanks for that guys!Last edited by jmaj315; 06-25-2014, 06:11 PM.I used to put important things hereComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Briefly mentioned this before, but I'm about a week away from finishing up the 2014 season and I'm looking to move Dom Brown in the offseason. He's currently hitting around .250 with 28 HR and 63 RBI. I'm hoping to resign him for a year and not long term so it will be easier to move him in the offseason. What kind of return do you guys think I can get for him? I want to try and establish some sort of trade now and see where it goes in the offseason. Thanks!Comment
