Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Why do people want to make trades so early in the season? I'll never understand it.
Rule of thumb: just wait until July and exercise some patience.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Headley is 2 Mid B's and a High C. Ramirez is a Mid B and a High C. In other words, you're a Mid B short.
Can you spare a Mid B? Jimmy Nelson comes to mindFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey, I don't really understand this.
The Rangers proposed a trade to me:
Two players, 1.55M.
For one of my players, 46.75 M.
I declined. Go back to see it and get the unable due to salary expense message. How can the CPU propose it but I can't? I DONT want to do the trade but trying to understand the cap better. Or if this is a glitch.5Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys I'm nearing the 2015 trade deadline with the rockies and was thinking about dealing for Matt Holliday. He's been designated to a bench role with the Cardinals with Adams, Taveras, Craig, and Piscotty in front of him so I thought he might be a realistic target. My question is that on the spreadsheet he is worth 3 B prospects, in this situation would his value be less? I am thinking of offering Eddie Butler and a C prospect, but do you think Two B's gets it done?
They are interested in Brothers and Clippard (currently my closer) as they need relief help, but they're my best two relievers so I could deal one, but wouldn't really love to do that as I'm still in the playoff hunt.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I came in here for this exact same reason. Baltimore offers me an A 2b prospect, and two decent pitching prospects for Ian Kinsler. I was interested in the trade, but wanted to swap out one of the pitchers. When I try to offer them any trade, including the same trade they offered, I get the salary message.
I turn ignore budgets on and just play realistically. With ignore budgets on the CPU teams still act like they have a normal budget. Without it on I have noticed problems like this too. I just play realistically (I don't go over budget) and if I am going to make a trade I make sure the other team is not going over either.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So I've reached the trade deadline with my Red Sox franchise and currently sit 5 games back. Like the real Sox my OF hitting is terrible besides surprise, surprise Brock Holt who is still hitting in the .280's. Was looking to possibly add a realistic trade rumor in Matt Kemp. Since the game doesn't allow for a team to eat any part of salaries I would be taking on Kemp's huge salary and I know the Sox in real life would want them to eat some of that money to get better players. So what kind of package would I be looking at. I was thinking of starting a package around Ranaudo.
I was also considering a trade for Dexter Fowler to get a little more speed in the lineup.Red soxComment

You wouldn't have to give up as much if you try to get Fowler and he's cheaper but arbitration eligible at the end of the year. The spreadsheet says 2 low B's should do it.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I've noticed the A.I has been making awful trades which I keep vetoing.. like Nap, Lester traded away for prospects even though Boston's a couple out half way through doesn't make sense. But anyways, I read countless pages about crap here, down to some real baseball talk.. so my dilemma is I'm a couple days away from the deadline and I really want to boost my rotation. My best pitcher has been Dustin McGowan so far and by far.. soo I played a exhibition games with the following pitchers to see which ones I like and here's who I wantedto pick up.. following in this order.
James shields
Ian Kennedy
Shark/lincecum
Or possibly Jon niese *found he has control problems not sure*
Anyways my goal is to keep Sanchez, stroman, and gose the rest up for grabs
Opinions ? I'm the jays btwComment
