I've already done a bunch of trades and wanna see if Sale moving would be alright.

Not really realistic but if you trade him you will get a LOT for him. He's young and very good so I would try to build around him.

I'm at the trade deadline now and I've been going through the buyers and adding some pieces from the sellers. I'm working on the Cardinals now and they seem to need an infielder. Moving Carpenter to second base and getting a third baseman looks like the best option for St. Louis or possibly adding shortstop and moving Peralta over to second.

The Texas Rangers are way out of contention and there's two players there that would seem to be a good fit.

      Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus.

Can anyone think of a realistic situation/trade that would result in Texas dealing them to St. Louis?

Please keep in mind this is not real life, in my franchise St. Louis is contending and needs an infielder while Texas is way out of it at this point.

Another possibility is Aaron Hill from Arizona. The Diamondbacks are definitely sellers at this point.

I probably won't do it then. Thanks for the quick response.

Any thoughts on moving him to Tampa bay? I wouldn't hate like zobriest. My 2nd basemen (Gordon and Guerrero are both hitting .220 and below) feel maybe he could be a missing piece. But at the same time the rays aren't way out of contention but they have him on the block.

Reading back the comments about Yelich, I think this guy could be pretty special in real life. I have him in a deep dynasty league I play in and I love watching this guy hit. I think when he puts it all together he could be a 20/20 sweet swinging LF/CF which makes him a pretty damn good player.

Hill (cheaper) and Beltre (more expensive but with age and contract value) would both be available. I heard the words "great clubhouse guy" again the other day re: Elvis, I don't think he is going to get moved unless it's a blockbuster type of deal.

You could make it easy on STL by including someone like J. Kelly + pieces so they don't have to give away too much of the farm.

The Rangers would have a high asking price for Beltre and I see Andrus being in a trade for Price if they go after him.

Joe Kelly+ is not nearly enough for Adrian Beltre unless that + includes names like Piscotty, Martinez or Miller.

and deal #3 Phillies need at least 1 more prospect for Cole unless his stats really suck in your Franchise

Giving option for both Hill and Beltre. Using Kelly eats up good value, is a luxury on STL roster and both ARZ and TEX would trip over themselves trying to get him in a deal for either player.

That way, you don't have to give 3 quality farmhands for grandpa Beltre and his contract.

Joe Kelly really isn't all that great though. He just puts up a nice ERA. He doesn't strike out many guys and he doesn't have the control to get away with it. That adds up to a career adjusted xFIP 7% worse than average. Plus, his swinging strike percentage has gotten even lower. He just doesn't miss bats or have the control to get away with it. He could be a piece in a Hill trade if Hill is doing as badly as IRL, but for Beltre? No way. Beltre is far and away worth his contract.

Even with Beltre getting older he's still a top 3rd Baseman. He's killing the ball again this year and provides pretty good defense at the hot corner. I would have a hard time seeing Joe Kelly as the main piece in a deal to get him. He could be thrown in but I gotta agree with AC and say a top prospect or young player would need to be the focal point in acquiring him.
