Like I said, that would be nice. I'm not a developer though, so I can't say how easy it would or wouldn't be to add that in there.

I think an easier fix would just be to let us edit contracts for players in franchise mode. We get to edit pretty much everything else, right? Some people would abuse it, but it would be really nice for the ones who wanted to use it for this purpose.

For example, Reyes gets traded and you want to eat 5 million of his contract. Once he's on that team you trade him to, you can subtract that amount. Then you go back and edit someone on the Jays, let's say Brandon Morrow, and add 5 million to his current contract.

Mystery team with Jose Reyes would pay him less and you'd be "eating" the money.

That would probably be easier to put in the game than a new trade system. But hey, it does need desperately overhauled, so we can hope.

I made the Cubs-A's trade in my franchise and ever since then every team that wants to trade with me asks for A. Russell. The only semi-realistic one I had offered to me was Taijuan Walker for Russell, Alcantara and Schierholtz. It is kind of frustrating because I never really got that many trade offers in previous years but now I do but they are all crap.

Now on to business. I have a trade that I've been kicking around but can't pull the trigger on. I'm 10.5 games out in the division and 6 out in the WC with my Cubs. The Braves are 2.5 out in the division and 1 in the WC. They have Freeman on the 60 Day and Heyward (1-2 Months), Schafer (6 days) on the DL. They have Doumit playing RF and G. Laird playing 1st.

They will except Schierholtz (.248, 2, 11 in 133 AB's) straight up for David Hale (10-1, 2.42 in AAA). Is this fair? What can I do to make it balance out? I simmed and if they accept the trade they move Doumit to 1st, Schierhotz starts in RF and Laird goes back to being the back-up catcher.

      Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hale > Schierholtz. Maybe Schierholtz for Elmer Reyes?

Schierholtz+Hector Rodon for Hale may work

Traded SP Clay Bucholz, SP Henry Owens, and 2B Mookie Betts to the Marlins for Giancarlo Stanton.

Gave up a lot, but was definitely worth it. The Red Sox OF is pretty horendous and Bucholz wasn't pitching well.

            Batting order now:

            1. CF - Grady Sizemore/Jackie Bradley Jr.
            2. SS - Xander Bogaerts
            3. 2B - Dustin Pedrioa
            4. Giancarlo Stanton
            5. David Ortiz
            6. Mike Napoli
            7. Will Middlebrooks/Garin Cecchini
            8. A.J. Pierzynski
            9. Shane Victorino/Bryce Brentz

I wouldn't call that giving up a lot, lol.

Not alot. Owens, Ranaudo, Cecchini/Mookie, JBJ, and Swihart/Vazquez is just a start.

Yeah thats not a lot for Stanton... in fact it's not even close to enough.

If I wanted to put M. Sano on the Marlins, would N. Evoldi + C. Moran + J. Nicolino be enough or would I have to add A. Heaney in place of Nicolino? And would that be enough?

Yeah, even from just an in-game ratings standpoint - he's got A potential but 24 and not even as developed as Owens (in OSFM v2)

Granted, the trade I'd want from Boston for Stanton would be considered "unrealistic" since I'd want Bogaerts to start.

If that works, let me go put this in my Marlins franchise I'd trade any of those for a prospect like Sano. Curious to see what opinions you get.

Not so unrealistic. BOS traded H. Ramirez for J. Beckett (and other pieces from both sides). I could put together a case where the Sox pursue Stanton in the off season with Bogaerts as the center piece. Not that much of a stretch.

Waiting for mizzou24 to finish his roster and will restart the season at the break (can't follow my own house rules as the O's, too much emotion). Worried the group is going to tell me it's not even close and I have to give my first born (negotiations with the wife are ongoing).

Well I don't think the twins will trade Sano but if you want fairness you might have to build a deal around Yelich
